Kia ora Koutou, Senior students have been focused on Prelim exams this week which for some will be the first time they have experienced an exam type environment in our auditorium. Hopefully the experience has not been too daunting and this practice will give them confidence for the ‘real’ event. The number of students coming in to gain extra credits, or catch up on outstanding credits has been positive. My thanks to the staff who have organised these opportunities. Many of you will have been following the updates regarding Face Masks and when we should wear them. As you will know if people are travelling on public transport they need to wear a face mask. However, under Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education directives, this does not apply to school bus transport. Wearing of masks on a school bus remains optional and at the discretion of the parent and student. It therefore remains our position that you make the decision with which you are comfortable as a whanau. We will support your decision. Masks at school can also be worn by students and staff but are not compulsory. As always, if your child is sick, they cannot be at school. We appreciate your support with this. As we start to develop the timetable for 2021 and look at options and classes, the biggest hope I have is that we move on from the disruptions and difficulties that have faced us all throughout this year. We have some exciting developments occurring, but I will tell you more of that as we move forward. Watch this space… In the meantime, enjoy your weekend and the company of your families. Nga mihi, Jon Principal / Tumuaki
