Rotorua Lakes High School

Kia ora Koutou,

We have been focusing on our Senior students with the NCEA exams coming up fast. As said in my last newsletter, I hope that many of our senior students used the holidays productively to consolidate their understanding and guarantee success in the upcoming exams. Our staff is doing everything they can to ensure students cover the ground they need to and support them through the stresses of last minute pushes

Term 4 is always a whirlwind of activity with exams, prizegivings, portfolios being finalized and everyone working towards successful academic outcomes.

It was an honour to attend the Young Achievers Ceremony on Tuesday this week. Our Lakes High Young Achievers are, Kahurangi Dewes Green, Kingi Aupouri, Fiona Lambdin, Cristobal Sanzana Leal, Alana Wilkinson, Pipi Uhl and Agustina Gonzalez Diaz. Our students were recognized for their outstanding contributions to community service, academia, sport, performing arts, culture and leadership. (pics on pages 2 3)

Our annual Sports Prizegiving was held today in our school gym and it was an excellent occasion to celebrate our talented, successful and dedicated sporting students in their chosen sports. As always, a huge thank you and congratulations for an extremely successful year to our wonderful coaches and managers for their continued commitment and unfailing support. (for more see pages 3 9).

Have a great weekend.
