SPORT
BOYS 1ST HOCKEY
What a night it was in mild Taupo. The Boys travelled to verse top of the table Taupo nui a Tia. The Boys showed what they were made of and played the best game of the season yet. With strong and clever defensive play, and determination to attack we certainly rocked the opposition. 1-1 at half time, after an equalising goal by Jayden Fraser, was a fair score for 30 mins of strong play. The second half was no different but unfortunately a couple of calls against us allowed the opposition to score a further two goals. We come away from that game knowing it's all coming together due to the hard work by the team and superb coaching by Kieran King . Well done Boys! Player of the Day - Jamaallulah Abdul Rahman.

On Monday 31 May our Girls Rugby team went to JPC to play their first competition game. The girls were a bit nervous but once the whistle blew they were into it! With strong tackling from all the girls but in particular Teneka Huriwai, Genesis Huriwai and Marae Paul. This led to our first try to Genesis with great turnover ball and good service from half back Dylan Guptill. Other try scorers were Maraea Dewes-Green, Aliah Manuel, Tiraha Karakia, Dylan Guptill (2), Genesis Huriwai (3), Phoenix Andrews and 2 conversions to Manawai Gates. It was a great game from both teams with great sideline support from our parents, nanny’s and koro and fellow students. Final score to Lakes 47-22 Players of the Day – Manawa Gates and Dylan Guptill
