Rotorua Lakes High School “Mauria te pono - Keep steadfastly to the truth”

NEWSLETTER ISSUE No. 10– 9 APRIL 2021

CHALKBOARD From the Principal – P. Student Successes – P. News from Teachers – P. General Info – P. Sport – P. Careers / Gateway – P. Notice Board – P. Contacts – P.

Kia ora Koutou, I hope you had a great, relaxing and fun Easter break. As you know last Thursday we had a power cut to the school which resulted in complete closure of the school for the day. Thank you to all parents and whānau who reacted so quickly to keep your child at home and to organize alternative pick up. We received great support from you all which made a potentially difficult day so much easier. Thank you as always to our staff who were organizing extra buses and taking students home. It was great to see such community spirit. Trying to close a school on April 1st is a challenge in itself! Unfortunately, due to the power cut we had to cancel our athletics day. We will not be able to re-schedule given the imminent school holidays and our other commitments throughout Term 2. Next year for sure! A short week this week and lots to look forward to in our last week of Term 1 next week. Have a great weekend.

Ngā mihi

Jon Ward Principal / Tumuaki wardj@rotorualakes.school.nz
