_________________________________________________________________________ YEAR 13 LEAVERS DINNER The Annual RLHS Year 13 Leavers Dinner will be held this year at the Rydges Hotel, Fenton Street on Thursday 6 December 2018. Parents and family are invited to attend. The evening will begin with drinks and a buffet meal, followed by a celebration of the achievements of all Year 13 students. This is a semi-formal occasion. A very tidy standard of dress is required (e.g. no jeans, t-shirts, jandals etc) and appropriate behavior is expected – no whistling, calling out etc. Students attending are under our normal school rules including no smoking and no alcohol. The only concession to these rules is those students who are with their parents or caregivers. They may have alcohol with their meal if purchased by their parents and are of legal age. No intoxicated persons will be admitted to the function.

The school regards this dinner as a family celebration. Students must be accompanied by their parents/caregivers and are unable to purchase individual tickets for themselves. It is possible for students to be accompanied by another Lakes High student’s parent/caregiver but permission must be sought and approved before such a ticket can be bought. See Ms Howard. Names of all persons attending must be listed on the return section of this form. Current students of RLHS who are not Year 13 may not attend. Doors open 7 pm, seated for dinner 7.30 pm. Tickets are on sale from the school at student reception at a cost of $55 per person and must be shown at the door upon entry. Tickets cannot be charged to student accounts. Tickets must be purchased before

27 November 2018. For any other questions please contact Ms Howard howardh@rotorualakes.school.nz

SPORT _________________________________________________________________________ NETBALL SUCCESS Following a fantastic 2018 season for the Rotorua Lakes High School Senior A netball team and Rotorua U17 Rep team, Puaawai Bennet was one of two Rotorua netballers selected in the Waikato Bay of Plenty Level 1 Performance squad. This was made up of 50 young netballers from around the 2 regions who were identified as having potential in netball. On Sunday 28th October Puaawai attended a 1 day training camp in Tokoroa. It was a day full of testing, skill learning and development, and games. The sessions were delivered by top netball coaches and players, including ex Silver Ferns Coach Ruth Aiken, and the current Magics netball players. What a fantastic opportunity Puaawai! Congratulations, and we look forward to seeing you on the netball court in 2019.

_________________________________________________________________________ TOUCH SUCCESS A big congratulations to Te Hukatai Bryant-Kameta, who has been selected for the Bay of Plenty U16 Girls Touch team, and will be attending the NZ National Tournament in February 2019.
