All fees and medical forms should be in by Monday at the latest otherwise your child will not be permitted to attend the camp. All other year 10's are expected at school as usual.

DEPARTMENT NEWS __________________________________________________________________________________________

ART NEWS The first Year 9 rotation is coming to an end and students are working on their final projects using Pacific Designs as inspiration. The new rotation begins in week one, term two, and students are able to buy their items in town

in the holidays. They will need an A3 sketchbook, a 3B pencil, an eraser, a sharpener, an ink pen, and a set of watercolour pencils. All other materials will be provided for them. The Year 10 Art students are reaching the halfway point of their course, and have developed new skills and techniques using dry/wet media, and are moving into studying artist models and learning Photoshop. Next term we will be exploring printmaking and mixed media, and more painting! Please make sure your son/daughter has all the equipment on the stationery list (on Google classroom) so they can make the most of the rest of the course. Any questions, email carlans@rotorualakes.school.nz.

Senior Art students should make use of the holidays to extend their ideas and research, and practice techniques and use of media. They should also review exemplars on NZQA and read about level of achievement, and take note of resources put on Pinterest, and Google Classroom, for them to follow interesting links to websites that could help inspire them. It is crucial that students enter term two with all tasks and work completed and up to date, ready to tackle the next stage in the development of their portfolios for the year. Please contact your son/daughters' teachers if you have any concerns or queries about their progress. _________________________________________________________________________________________
