The Communit y Korero is an early evening communit y event that runs in conjunction with the Cool to Korero school programme. Where the school talk empowers young people to find solutions for their problems and makes it ok to talk , the Communit y Korero reinforces the need for adults to listen. Af ter all, there is no point in get ting our youth to open up if nobody is listening. Government and non-government agencies are invited to at tend the talk are given an oppor tunit y to address at tendees. This enables them to let the communit y know, who they are, what they do, and how they can be accessed. This is the major focus of The Key to Life Charitable Trust: Uniting communities and highlighting where they can get help.

Over the course of the evening Mike once again shares his stor y with the communit y before branching out and talking about the problems faced by today ’s youth. They include: bullying , peer pressure, drugs and alcohol, sex abuse, divorce, sexualit y and disconnection at home and in school. An in depth Q& A follows and it is here that the communit y gets to ask the hard questions, express their concerns and of fer up solutions that may be helpful for our youth. This free 2 hour event is solution driven and packed full of useful information and tools that we all need to make positive dif ference in our communities.
