FROM THE PRINCIPAL ___________________________________________________________________________ WORLD YOUTH CLIMBING CHAMPS Congratulations to Luke Gardner Year 10, who has qualified to represent New Zealand at the World Youth Climbing Championships to be held later this year in Russia. Luke had amazing success at the qualifiers and was one of only two climbers to qualify for climbing and bouldering. Luke will also compete in speed climbing in Russia but can't qualify for this as there is no speed wall in New Zealand as yet. 2018 YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES Congratulations to Kayaker, George Snook Year 10, who has been named in the New Zealand Team for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires. George has come through the Canoe Slalom NZ Development Squad and competed at the inaugural AIMS Games canoe slalom event in 2016 and won the Year 8 boys event. George is now a member of the New Zealand U18 Canoe Slalom team and is currently in Munich where he is training ahead of the ICF Junior World Championships in Italy in July. Well done George! We wish him all the best!
___________________________________________________________________________ PPTA – PAID UNION MEETING Next week on Wednesday 23 May classes will finish at 12.30 so teachers can attend a Post Primary Teachers’ Association Union Meeting (under the provisions of section 26 of the Employment Relations Act 2000). Supervision will be provided in the Auditorium for any bus, or other students who cannot get home at this time. Our apologies for any inconvenience.
