Caring is our way of life
A note from our MD Spending time in our Homes to see first-hand the daily experiences of our staff and how they support residents, remains the most important and enjoyable part of my role.
At The Tithebarn, I had the opportunity to speak with several residents and staff during my visit and also met with the Home’s Association of Friends who help to enrich our residents’ lives.
In June, I had the opportunity to visit our Homes in the north-west including Ecclesholme, The Tithebarn and Queen Elizabeth Court. I left each Home with really good memories about the excellent care each team provided.
A new initiative at Queen Elizabeth Court which includes a change in shift patterns to help reduce agency use, is also starting to show some positive results.
It was great to see the new environment at Ecclesholme following its refreshment works and the positive impact it has had on staff and residents. The team is also piloting smart phone technology for care planning which involves spoken words being automatically converted into text on icare.
Whilst it is important for our performance to be recognised through our regulators CQC/CIW and in our annual survey results, it is much more rewarding to see first-hand the commitment, passion and care that our staff provide on a daily basis. Mark LLoyd, MD
Employee Survey A big thank you to everyone that took part in this year’s Employee Survey and shared their views about working at RMBI Care Co. The results are currently being collated by Agenda, an external consultant and we will be able to share some key results from the survey in the coming months.
Learning at Work Week Thank you to everyone who took part in Learning at Work Week this year. Numerous activities were held at our Homes and at Head Office between 13-17 May, from Tai Chi sessions to Chocolate Mindfulness, massage treatments, dog walks and laughter therapy.

Favourite Quote: ”Hire a lazy person to do a difficult job” at Microsoft. Why? “Because a lazy person will find an easy way to do it.”- Bill Gates.
Nice to meet you! On 7 and 8 June, RMBI Care Co. took part in The Alzheimer’s Show at Olympia London. The two day event provided a great opportunity for some of our team to speak to attendees of the show about our Homes and the services we provide. We also had a sneak peak into some of the latest technology to support people with dementia from interactive light animation games
to a virtual dementia tour that helps to give people an understanding of what it might be like to have dementia. Anne Child, our Dementia Specialist Lead, also gave a talk about dementia for the second year running which was very well received. A big thank you to all our representatives who took part across the two day event.
Staff help carer Julie Cook celebrate 15 years of working at Scarbrough Court.
