HEAD COACH

PAT STANCO Head Coach | 11th Season | 85-83-20 (.663)

In 2015, head coach Pat Stanco will begin his 11th season at the helm of the Albright women’s soccer program. Since taking over the program, Stanco has helped the Lions improve every single year both on and off the field and has averaged over eight wins per season. In 2014, Albright returned to the Commonwealth Conference Tournament after a one-year hiatus. The Lions finished fifth in the conference standings with a 3-5 conference record. The 2012 Lions qualified for both the Commonwealth Tournament and the ECAC South Championship for the second consecutive year. In 2011, Albright went 9-5-5, with three of those losses coming against nationally-ranked teams, including two to eventual national champion Messiah. The Lions qualified for the Commonwealth Conference Tournament and then beat Swarthmore in the ECAC South Championship on the way to a semifinal appearance. The 2010 season saw continued success for Albright as they tied nationally-ranked conference opponent Widener. In 2009, Stanco guided his squad to the Commonwealth Conference Tournament for the second time in five years. On the road to the postseason, Stanco led the Lions to victories over conference rivals Lebanon Valley and Elizabethtown. During the 2008 campaign, Stanco led Albright to a 7-10 record overall, and a five-game win streak in the middle of the season. Throughout his tenure, Stanco has recorded four winning seasons, which ranks as the most of any head coach in school history, and led the Lions to the Commonwealth Conference Tournament in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2014. Overall he has coached 13 all-conference honorees, and remains the program’s

Stanco then went on to East Stroudsburg, where he became a key member of the Warriors highly successful club. In 1998 he earned Second-Team All-PSAC honors, setting the stage for a phenomenal senior year in 1999. Stanco led the Warriors to an 18-3 record, a PSAC Championship, and a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

2015 Preview/2014 Review

Emily Sousa Forward

2015 OUTLOOK After returning to the postseason for the third time in the last four years, the Albright women’s soccer team will seek to take the next step in its progression in 2015. The Lions finished the 2014 season with a 7-11-1 overall record and a 3-5 mark in the Commonwealth Conference. Albright secured the No. 5 seed in the Commonwealth Tournament where it lost to Arcadia. Head coach Pat Stanco, who is entering his 11th season at the helm of the Lions program, hopes to use 2014 as a springboard for even better results this season. He has a deep, and talented, roster to aid in that quest. Albright returns 18 letterwinners from last season and returns 10 players who started at least 10 games in 2014.
