I would like to introduce myself… my name is John, and this is my wife Angela. We have been married for 18 years and have built a wonderful life together. I have been the pastor of Faith Baptist Church in Blue Springs, MO for the past seven years and my wife has been in banking for almost 20. Our desire from the beginning of our marriage was to start a family, however, God chose a different direction for our lives. Whenever people would ask us about children I would always respond, “God has blessed our lives in so many ways, he has just not chosen to make one of those blessings children”. We so often fixate on what God doesn’t provide rather than what he does. Then on the 18th of June 2018, we were given the contact information of a woman desiring to find a loving home for her fraternal twins. We were clearly overjoyed to have such an opportunity seemingly fall out of the sky, however we were very cautious not to get our hopes too high. We began to pray and made two trips to visit the birthmother. Then on June 27th, after our second visit, we received peace and assurance from God that this was his will for our lives. Excited to become parents, we immediately began to prepare our home for the twins as their due date was five weeks away. However, the following afternoon we got the call that we were going to be parents in a matter of minutes. We immediately raced to the hospital and the next two weeks were a blur as we spent almost every waking moment in the NICU. After the twins were born, a nurse helped us get in contact with the Ronald McDonald House. The staff could not have been more gracious and compassionate to us during our stay. They provided a place within walking distance to the hospital which enabled us to be with our children as much as possible. The room was fantastic with a nice bed, a hot shower and a meal provided each evening. In a time when our lives were changing so much, the Ronald McDonald House provided a little piece of home to make our lives as normal as possible. We are forever blessed with our little miracles and so thankful for what Ronald McDonald House provided for us in our time of need.
