Welcome to the next generation of the Tooth Truck!
For the past 20 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Ozarks has been proud to offer vital dental care to children in need through our beloved mobile clinic. And now, we're thrilled to introduce the newest member of our family: the Tooth Truck 2.0! With a state-of-the-art clinic and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, the Tooth Truck 2.0 is ready to provide top-quality dental care to even more children across the Ozarks. We're proud to build on the legacy of the original Tooth Truck and continue to serve families. In fact, many of the parents bringing their children to the Tooth Truck today were once patients themselves!
Our new Tooth Truck is only possible thanks to Springfield Public Schools’ gift of $538,719 in ARPA ESSER funds, and a contribution of $34,500 from Delta Dental of Missouri to underwrite dental equipment!

THE IMPACT OF THE ORIGINAL TOOTH TRUCK:
West Plains student, Anna, shares her experience on the Tooth Truck
“Walking into the Tooth Truck for the first time seemed daunting. I was so nervous about being judged or mistreated, and it was the first time I would be taking care of my health all alone. As soon as the doors opened, all my fears melted away. The ladies walked me in, all greeted me with bright and genuine smiles, and began to make me feel at home instantly. They walked me through the process and made every step seamless. Expertly they began to work while making sure I was okay through it all. In the end, not only did they give me the confidence to smile a little bigger, but I left feeling I had another whole family. Thank you so much.”
Anna surprised us with flowers and a very special card when she arrived for her final of six visits. She wanted to express her gratitude for the service that the Tooth Truck provided for her, and especially for the way she felt about herself when it was all over. We are thrilled that Anna can feel good about her beautiful smile!
Roberto is a kindergartner
at Monett Early Childhood Center. English isn’t his first language so he was rather timid with our staff at first. Fortunately our Spanish speaking staff member was able to connect with him in Spanish to explain how the staff would take pictures of his teeth and brush and floss them. When it was time for him to return to the Tooth Truck to repair some cavities, he skipped and danced all the way down the hallway. We are so happy to be able to connect with him in his native language to ensure he understands each step of his dental visits. Roberto’s treatment total was $2,428.
Amira is a six-year-old who attends Sunshine
Elementary in Springfield, She has a big personality, which comes out in her creative outfits. Amira did a great job through each step of her dental visits; she looked forward to wearing special sunglasses and laying back and watching a movie during her restorative appointment. She was excited to share her experience on the Tooth Truck with her mom, who was happy to know the Tooth Truck was taking care of her daughter’s teeth. Amira visited the Tooth Truck three times and received $2,884 in dental treatment.
Truck,
I am amazed at how much space is inside. There is a special bench for me to sit on until it’s my turn to get my teeth cleaned. While sitting there I get to pick out a toothbrush to take home. It will go in a bag with toothpaste, floss, a two-minute timer, and a cool sticker reminding me of all the things helper Megan/Kassidy will teach me. When they called my name, I went to the blue/green room where I sit in a great big chair that moves up and down. First Miss Megan/Kassidy takes pictures of my teeth with a special camera. Then she uses a toothbrush that spins in circles really fast to brush my teeth. She talks to me about spots I need to be brushing better then lets me hold a tooth shaped mirror while I watch her floss my teeth. Dr. Sarah comes in and checks all of my teeth and tells me I will come back again to get a cavity fixed. I say goodbye for now and a special friend walks me back to class. I am so excited to show my teacher my sparkling clean teeth. Tomorrow I will come back and watch a movie on the tv up in the ceiling while Dr. Sarah and Miss Megan/Kassidy fix my cavity bug. They promise to show me all the steps as they work.
