FAMILY PROFILE
Witt Family Home: Taney County
We found out we were pregnant in July 2017, but little did we know, we were pregnant with TWINS! It was a very exciting time, but automatically put us in the high-risk category where we had to see a specialist every few weeks to ensure the pregnancy was as smooth as possible. Unfortunately, in November, I had to have an emergency cerclage and was put on bedrest until the babies arrived. In early January, they discovered I had developed severe preeclampsia and would need to deliver in the next few days. Three days later at just over 30 weeks’ gestation, our sweet daughters were born via C-section but would spend the next 45 days in the NICU. Our home was almost an hour away from the NICU, and our immediate concern was the daily commute. That’s when we were told about the Ronald McDonald House of the Ozarks. We honestly didn’t know much about RMH at the time, but were told we could stay as long as our daughters were in the NICU. This immediate provision from God was absolutely mind-blowing they were so accommodating and made sure to give us a room on the first-floor due to my recent surgery. Having two babies in the NICU is a very stressful and emotionally draining experience, but knowing that we had a place to stay a minute down the road, a warm meal every night, and a full-sized kitchen stocked with donations we could use was such a huge relief. All of the staff and volunteers were so genuine and friendly during such a stressful time. We received weekly gifts from RMH and met some amazing people along the way. We encountered many other families and individuals and were blown away by the huge blessing RMH was to them as well. We are so grateful for God’s hand in our lives and for providing the Ronald McDonald House during a time of need. They are without a doubt an outstanding organization with a huge heart for their community.
