FAMILY PROFILE
Sigman
Home: Elk Creek, MO (Texas County)
In April of 2019, preeclampsia caused our baby girl, Jayde,
to come earlier than anticipated. During a planned caesarian, we experienced a placental abruption that left our daughter and myself fighting for our lives. She was too unstable to go straight home, so we were admitted into the NICU at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri where we would stay for the first two weeks of our daughter’s life. Living nearly two hours away from the hospital, we were offered a room at the Ronald McDonald House just across the street from the hospital. We are forever grateful for this opportunity that allowed us to stay with our daughter during the day and a nice place to sleep at night. Staying at the Ronald McDonald House also allowed us to have our six-year-old son with us as often as we could. They made us feel right at home with offering up meals, a place to sleep, and activities for our son. Our entire family felt welcomed and at home thanks to the volunteers. We will always be thankful for the Ronald McDonald House and all that they provided for our family, as well as many other families. We are so blessed to have had this opportunity and are forever thankful that this charity exists.
