85 kilometre pipeline expansion is being staged on east side of Delisle
askEnergy’s natural gas transmission subsidiary, TransGas Limited, is building an 85kilometre, 20-inch natural gas transmission pipeline. The pipeline begins at an existing TransGas compressor station near Rosetown, and head northeast, tying into the pipeline system near Vanscoy. The pipeline will parallel an existing TransGas pipeline wherever feasible. TransGas is also expanding its existing Rosetown Compressor Station to support the proposed pipeline expansion. The Rural Municipalities in the project area include: the RM of St. Andrews (No. 287), the RM of Harris (No. 316), the RM of Marriott (No. 317) and the RM of Vanscoy (No. 345).
The pipeline and station expansion will allow TranGas to increase the natural gas transportation capacity of the system, bringing additional natural gas supply to the area. This expansion is necessary to accommodate current and future residential, commercial and industrial growth in the west-central area of the province. There should be minimal impact to area residents during construction; however, some farming operations may experience temporary minor inconveniences. TransGas will work to minimize adverse impacts, and is committed to negotiating fairly with any landowners affected by our activities. Environmental factors and concerns are key considerations when pipeline routes

and facility sites are selected. Where practical, facility locations are selected to avoid or mitigate these sensitivities. Local First Nations are also engaged to gain knowledge of traditional land use and identification of culturally sensitive areas near the proposed route/site where impacts may exist. The pipeline project is currently estimated to cost $85 million. The compressor station expansion is currently estimated at $34 million. Construction on the pipeline and the compressor station expansion was scheduled to begin this spring but due to the current pandemic the start date has not been determined.
