SCHOOL NEWS School Production of”9 to 5—The Musical” “9 to 5—the Musical” must one of the most fun shows we've done at RMS. We are putting it on at the Watersmeet Theatre, Rickmansworth from Tuesday 7th to Friday 10th November, at 7.30pm. It takes the storyline of the film, along with the title hit song and adds in some wonderfully catchy numbers written by Dolly Parton. It's an uplifting and hilarious story of female empowerment and the 45-strong cast are superb—do try to come along and see it! Tickets cost £12 for adults and £8 for concessions Tickets can be purchased using this link: https://www.watersmeet.co.uk/royal-masonic-school-presents-9-to-5Or you can book via the Watersmeet Box Office on 01923 711063 during opening hours or visit www.watersmeet.gov.uk for more information.

Focus Day 2017 We hope that all the girls enjoyed getting out and about in the “Great Outdoors” on our annual Focus Day yesterday. With activities ranging from indoor skydiving to flower arranging and rugby to codebreaking, there certainly was something for everyone! We will share more details of the day with you soon and are in the process of compiling a full gallery, but in the meantime you can enjoy some photographs from the day here and on the next page..

SCHOOL NEWS Work Experience, June 2018 — Can you help? In recent years many RMS students have successfully completed work experience in a wide range of work placements. These placements have been sourced through Herts Hertfordshire Education Authority and friends / parents of the RMS community. Two years ago, after a great deal of consideration it has been decided that it is not to the benefit of our students to continue to offer places through Hertfordshire Education Authority due to a significant rise in charges. This is a cost that is passed on to parents. In 2017 the vast majority of Year 11 students who carried out work experience did so with placements that had been provided through RMS or personal contacts. I am therefore writing to ask you if you would be willing to accommodate a student for a week of work experience from June 25th – 29th 2018. We have enjoyed many years of working with companies sourced through parents and friends of RMS. Every year, I am the recipient of a large number of positive communications about our students and how they conduct themselves during their placements. The students’ interests are wide reaching, extending from Events Management to Banking and Education. As I am sure you can appreciate, it is becoming increasingly challenging to source suitable placements for the girls and I would be extremely grateful if you could help in any way. Students are more than happy to travel to London and the local counties. If you would like further information, or you would be willing to offer a placement, could I ask that you contact me at the address below.
