About me, I am annoying to the point of despair, I am determined to get the best results for my members and have continuously done so.
I am not keen on other people’s opinions unless they are formed from agreed practices, and do not tell me that my members are entitled to something and then they are denied it, as it will never be acceptable or accepted.
I’m not a self-seeking union representative. My brother Ian Hodge asked if he nominated me would I want to share my knowledge and experience as he believes that I am the best candidate for this role because of what I have achieved as an officer and representative. In these roles I have helped raise the pay average substantially in the Southwest, reduced the working week without loss of pay and improved the workplace through effective collective bargaining, consultation and grievance procedures. I’ve helped bring justice, democracy and a sense of pride to the membership giving them the strength to stand up against the company as individuals and as a collective. I have held most of the representatives and officer’s roles within our branch, I am a national representative and CNC Secretary for the core Southwest.
I will not put up with unfair practices and have pushed directors to the limit which have concluded in grievances against them. I love to negotiate with company officials on contracts, policies, procedures, agreements and have had the honour of doing so for my branch and the Southwest core.
I’m no better than the other nominees that are also looking for your vote, but if you are looking for experience then I believe that I am the right person to represent everyone as RRO South.
