Stress: The Silent Killer
N
o matter your age or what you do for a living, stress is a constant in everyone’s life. Because of its common nature, it is easy to say that stress is something that we just have to deal with. However, the science behind stress proves that it is a major concern affecting our health, and it is important that we work to reduce stress to keep us healthy. In this article, we take a look at the statistics and science behind stress and explore how a Richway Biomat® can aid in the reduction of stress and tension. How stress amplifies pain Stress is a major cause of pain. When you feel stress, there are physical changes that occur throughout the body. Stress causes the muscles to become tense. This is most commonly felt in the neck and head through tension headaches, but stress can have an effect on the entire musculoskeletal system. When you feel a “knot” in your back, stress may be the underlying cause of it. Injuries are often the catalyst

to chronic painful conditions. However, the body’s response to the injury is a large factor as to whether the injury will lead to a chronic painful condition. As explained by the American Psychology Association (APA), muscle tension and atrophy from neglect of using the body “all promote chronic, stress-related musculoskeletal conditions.”
Physical effects go well beyond pain
The APA also conducted a study released in November of 2017, titled Stress in America: The State of Our Nation, the study found that the United States is at its highest recorded stress level. Nearly two-thirds of Americans found that the future state of the nation was a very or somewhat significant source of stress. Healthcare and the economy rounded out the top three stress causes amongst those surveyed.
Acute stress, or short-term stress, caused by events, such as being stuck traffic, a publicspeaking occasion, or an approaching deadline causes the heart rate to increase. The heart muscle produces stronger contractions. This is caused by stress hormones produced by the body during such events – adrenaline, cortisol, and noradrenaline. These stress hormones alert the body that a stressful event is occurring and triggers the blood vessels to dilate to spread blood to the muscles and heart. The APA describes this as “fight or flight response,” and once the stressful event passes, the body returns to a normal, stable state.
Chronic pain prevention through stress reduction The APA states that moderate physical activity at the site of injury (overseen by a physician) helps to aid in injury recovery, and those who participate in such activity are found to have a better recovery than those who remain stagnant and tense. Furthermore, the APA has indicated that relaxation techniques have been shown to effectively reduce muscle tension and decrease incidences of stress-related ailments, including headaches. Indicated for relief from pain associated with sore and aching muscles, the Biomat® is a proven effective tool to help relax the muscles. The deeply penetrating far-infrared rays emitted by the Biomat® reach far into the muscle to help relieve stress and tension buildup within.
While chronic pain is one of the first indications of prolonged stress, it is arguably one of the least concerning. Stress has been shown to affect many different parts of the body outside of the musculoskeletal system. It has an alarming effect on the cardiovascular system.
Chronic stress, however, means that the body is constantly put through a “fight or flight” responsive state. This can contribute to longterm problems for the heart, arteries and veins. According to the APA, a constant and prolonged increase in heart rate and long-term elevation of stress-hormones can increase the risks for highblood pressure, heart attack and stroke. Stress immediately affects the respiratory system. The body reacts to stress by breathing harder and faster to distribute oxygen-rich blood
Massage is a physical technique which helps to relieve stress and tension in the muscles, and using the Biomat® in conjunction with a massage session will elevate its effectiveness. A daily one-hour session on the Biomat® can also help you unwind and relax. Many users of the Biomat® comment about the relaxing qualities that the gentle far-infrared rays provide to them both physically and emotionally. around the body. In a healthy individual, this is not much of a concern. However, for those who have breathing problems, such as asthma, this can be serious. Those with asthma may become short of breath as the body struggles to take in the needed extra oxygen. It can lead to hyperventilation, and this is exacerbated in those prone to anxiety and panic attacks. The gastrointestinal system is prone to negative effects caused by stress as well. Pain associated with heartburn and acid reflux can be exacerbated by stress. Stress can also cause sensitivity to the sensations in the stomach. You may experience nausea, discomfort, or “butterflies.” Chronic stress can even cause ulcers or severe stomach pain and diarrhea. Quality of life Aside from the physical side effects associated with stress, the psychological and overall effects on one’s quality of life make it important to keep 8 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018
stress levels down. Remaining in a constant state of stress can turn once enjoyable tasks into unpleasant ones. When stress becomes a chronic problem, it can become overbearing to the point in which it begins to affect relationships. When a person is no longer able to handle their stress, they may inadvertently take out their frustrations on those around them. Healthy methods for stress relief Relaxation and relief from stress can be attained even without a vacation abroad or day at the spa. Many methods and tools exist which can help you keep stress levels down and ease your mind. A study published in the JAMA Internal Medicine Review suggested that mindfulness-based stress reduction programs (such as meditation) relieved anxiety systems in people suffering
Aleksandr Davydov©123rf.com
from generalized anxiety disorder. Both groups, the control group and those who practiced daily meditation, found improvement from their symptoms when taught general stress management techniques. However, those in the study who practiced meditation improved more than those in the control group. Time and again, studies have also suggested that maintaining an active lifestyle can help to keep stress levels down and improve mood. Exercise stimulates endorphins, or peptides which activate the body’s opiate receptors, which in turn creates an analgesic effect. Focusing on a physical activity also keeps the mind off everyday stressors. A daily one-hour session on the Biomat can also help you unwind and relax. Many users of the Biomat® comment about the relaxing qualities that the gentle far-infrared rays provide to them both physically and emotionally. Using a Biomat® can feel like an escape from reality ®
– like sunbathing at a calming beach or a warm, comforting hug. Countless Biomat® users have also found that combining daily meditation with their Biomat® sessions amplifies the quality of both, creating a synergistic effect between the two. It has also been said that using the Biomat® before bed can aide in providing a better night’s sleep. The calming far-infrared rays and negative ions help to clear the mind after a long day on the job and relax tense muscles, giving users a gateway to a good night’s sleep. Use the Orgone Biomat® overnight for an even better night’s sleep. Relief from stress is attainable. Combining different stress management techniques to help you physically, mentally, and emotionally is the optimal offensive strategy to combat stress, and effective tools such as the Biomat® are available to help you find better and faster relief. Client Personailty Types: the Driver As an Independent Sales Associate, you have probably found that some customers are easy to deal with, while others are not, and different techniques work on different people. If you can learn to identify the key personality traits of your customer, you will be able to tailor your approach to their personality.
Driver Personality
I
t is common for people to sell the way they would like to be sold to. However, if you want to consistently close deals, you need to adjust your strategy to the customer’s personality. Most customers will often display traits of more than one type. However, there is usually a type that is more dominant. Adapting your style to match their personality will help you to establish rapport and lessen any chances of miscommunication or frustration on the part of your client. In this series, we will cover four customer personality types as identified by psychologists Roger Reid and John Merrill and teach you how to identify them. We’ll also provide some helpful tips for working with them. One type will be showcased in each issue. In this issue, we will cover the “no-nonsense” Driver personality type.

Characteristics of the Driver Drivers are the classic “Type A” personalities. They are assertive and take charge. They want what they want when they want it. They are goal-oriented and competitive. Unlike the amiable (covered in issue 9), to a Driver, the results are more important than forming a relationship. Along with their demanding personality, Drivers tend to speak louder than normal and employ confident body language which can be intimidating at times. When they ask a question, they want the facts to make a decision and move on. Drivers avoid fluff and are not into small talk.
Drivers’ strengths are that they are very determined, independent and productive. Their weakness are that they are controlling, insensitive, and unsympathetic.
Talking to Driver personality types One sign you are talking to a Driver is their high rate of speech and louder-than-normal volume. These customers can be demanding and do not like to waste time. Instead of your normal pitch, get right to the point and emphasize how our products will benefit and help them. Provide them with enough facts, so they can make a quick decision. When you do not know the answer to a question, let them know you will follow up. Drivers are interested in the bottom line. Keep your conversation focused. They are not interested in small talk or unnecessary information. When explaining any features, prove the product’s usefulness rather than simply saying that people like it. “I like to point out the Biomat’s® controller. There is a lot of flexibility with the nine settings and timer. You can adjust the heat to be comfortable any time of the year,” said Royal Family ISA and Managing Director Carrie Luke. Tips for working with Drivers Be professional and stay calm. Drivers are tough customers. Try not to be affected by their emotional state. Keep your pitch brief and to the point. Focus on the end result. The driver does not care about unecessary details, just how our products will help them. Drivers are goal-oriented. Show your competence. Focus on the strengths and features of our product that will solve their problem. If possible, let the Driver try the product, so they can see for themselves. Respect their time. If you like to share customer stories, start with the point of the story first. When a Driver must figure out why you are telling them this story, they will become annoyed.

How do you work with an overbearing customer?
S
ome customers will be difficult no matter what. So, don’t take it personally. How you handle these situations can make the difference between a customer who feels satisfied with the resolution and one who vows to never buy from you again. When working with a demanding customer, Carrie advises that one should remain calm and take the role of a listener. The first thing this type of customer may want to do is vent. Listening patiently can
defuse a situation. Carrie uses empathetic statements like, “I see how you might feel this way,” or “I have felt that way too.” She says, “this is merely being an engaged active listener. Be present in the conversation and the client will be able to tell you are sincere and want to help.” Diamond Executive ISA Wendy Thornton understands that one should not take it personally.

personality type] customer to control the conversation in the hopes that they can feel satisfied,” said Thornton. This unexpected tactic of being wrong to be right, flows with the customer’s energy and can help to diffuse the situation. “I do my best to stay focused on responding with factual answers, [and] follow up with a friendly email if required,” explained Thornton.

Closing Techniques:
The “I Want to Think it Over” Close By Brian Tracy
Saving the Lost Sale
T
here is a powerful technique you can learn called the “I Want To Think It Over Close.” This is the only way I know to save this kind of lost sale. You know by now that when the customer says, “I want to think it over,” he is really saying “good bye.” You know from your own experience that customers do not think it over. They do not sit there carefully studying your brochures and price lists with a calculator and a pen. People Are Often Ready to Buy On the other hand, as many as 50 percent of the people you speak to are probably ready to buy at this point. They just need a little push. They need some help. A buying decision is traumatic for them. They are tense and uneasy, and afraid of making a mistake. They may be right on the verge of saying “yes”
14 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018

and they need the professional guidance of an excellent salesperson. But if you accept the “I want to think it over” at face value and depart, you will probably never get a chance to see them or to sell to them again. Be Agreeable and Prepared This is how you use it. When the prospect says, “I want to think it over,” you appear to accept it gracefully. You smile agreeably, and begin packing your briefcase and putting your materials away. As you do, you make conversation with these words: “Mr. Prospect, that’s a good idea. This is an important decision 16 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018
and you shouldn’t rush into it.” These words will cause the prospect to mentally relax. He sees that you are on your way. His resistance will drop as soon as you stop presenting and trying to sell. Ask Curiously You then ask, in a curious tone of voice: “Mr. Prospect obviously you have a good reason for wanting to think it over. May I ask what it is; is it the money?” Remain perfectly silent, watching his face. Smile gently. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly. This is a critical moment.
Wait Patiently Again, you have nothing to lose. If you leave, you have lost this person as a prospect forever. The worst thing that he can say is that he has no particular reason but that he still wants to think it over. However, in many cases, he will reply by saying one of two things. He will say, “Yes, I’m concerned about the cost.” Or, he will say, “No, it’s not the money.” Probe the Answer If he says that “Yes, it’s the money,” you immediately go into a series of questions designed to deal with concerns about cost or price. You ask things like, “How do you mean, exactly? Why do you say that? Why do you feel that way? How far
apart are we? Is price your only concern, or is there something else?”
can say, “Mr. Prospect, what if we could do this…?” Or, “I think there is a perfect answer to that question.”
If he says that, “No, it’s not the money,” you reply by asking “May I ask what it is?”
Action Exercises
Remain Silent
Here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into action.
Again, you remain perfectly silent while you wait for his answer. In many cases, he will think about it for a few seconds, even a minute or longer, and then he will give you his final concern or objection. He will finally tell you what is really on his mind. He will tell you the real reason why he is hesitating about going ahead.
First, memorize the words of this closing technique and practice it as you would for a play or movie. Role-play this technique with someone else if you can. Second, use this technique as soon as possible, the very next time you hear those words, “Let me think it over.” You can save sales that might be lost forever.
If you can now satisfy him on this final condition, you can go on to conclude the sale. You

Building Her Business from the Ground Up Sue McShane - Diamond Executive ISA
M
any times, a person’s first experience on a Biomat® is a window to priceless experiences, a plethora of opportunity, and a new perspective on health and wellness. Diamond Executive ISA Sue McShane’s first experience on the Biomat® proved to be this and so much more.
Life before Richway Prior to Richway, Sue had worked a myriad of other jobs, such as positions at health clubs and salons. She was also an English instructor for adults learning a second language. In 1999, she opened a massage practice in Fort Collins. Working as a massage therapist was challenging for Sue. She found that it was difficult to make ends meet, and it was physically taxing on her body. Experiencing the Biomat® Sue discovered Richway and the Biomat® on an unsuspecting weekend after accompanying a friend at a neurofeedback conference in Phoenix, Arizona. This friend happened to be a therapist and neurofeedback practitioner herself, and Sue offered to help her set up her booth.
JUNE 2018 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH 19
Finding herself with some free time during the conference, Sue explored some of the other exhibits. A group of people sleeping on mats with headphones and eye masks caught her eye. She took note of the name on the booth – “Biomat® Store.” At the time, she observed those lying on the mats to be in a relaxed and blissful state. Wanting the same experience, Sue stood in queue. “I was lucky that there wasn’t a long waiting list, and I got on the mat fairly quickly,” recalled McShane. Upon hopping onto one of the Biomats®, Sue almost 20 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018
instantaneously found herself in a deep state of deep relaxation. She took note of the gentle, yet deeply penetrating heat. “In the 20 minutes that I was on the Biomat®, I just melted into the table, and I seemed to go into that state that’s in between sleep and wakefulness,” noted McShane. By the end of her short session on the Biomat®, Sue felt refreshed and rejuvenated. Through this first experience, Sue discovered first-hand the immense healing properties within the Biomat®. Throughout the five days she spent at the conference, Sue felt herself continuously drawn to
the Biomat®. She found herself back at the Biomat® booth for sessions at least twice a day. Finally, she reached out to Royal Family ISA Marilyn Cobb who was running the booth. Marilyn patiently and quickly answered Sue’s questions, and she provided Sue with supplementary literature and brochures about the Biomat® and its technology for further review. In time, Marilyn would end up becoming Sue’s sponsor. Building an empire Sue had little to no experience with multi-level marketing (MLM), and Richway had been her first step into the world of entrepreneurialism.
“I really had no clue how MLMs worked even after reading the business opportunity section,” said McShane. In the first weeks of her Richway distributorship, Sue would lend her personal Biomats® to those who were interested. She started introducing the Biomat® to her own local healing community of practitioners. After becoming more comfortable, Sue started attending local networking groups and encouraged interested parties to try the Biomat®. “I focused on massage therapists and energy workers at first, and then acupuncturists, functional medicine doctors and therapists. I would talk to everyone I came in contact with about the Biomat® if they would listen,” said McShane. Hearing about an experience as unique as a session on the Biomat® is not nearly as convincing as experiencing it first-hand. Sue made sure to have between two and three mats to lend out to people. She found that this system was great exposure and often led to sales. One of the biggest obstacles Sue faced in her first year was registering for trade shows and other health events that did not already have a Richway ISA attending and exhibiting the Biomat®. She lives in an area where she finds herself competing with other active ISAs. In many cases, she found herself unable to attend local
exhibits without seeing other ISAs.
been hard at work as an ISA, she has
“I was still able to do some local events and also there were always new events popping up, so I tried to keep my eyes and ears open for these new events that might be a good fit for the Biomat®,” said McShane.
One of Sue’s more notable clients, a sports psychologist who worked with the Denver Broncos, purchased a Biomat® back in 2014. We have omitted his name from this article due to the nature of his work. He utilizes the Biomat® in his sports medicine clinic and has encouraged many of the players to try it.
When local shows were already booked by other ISAs, Sue would then start looking for other shows even if they were out of the way. With time, she expanded her search for shows to other regions and would even drive long distances to attend events. She would consider the driving distance from where she lives and would typically limit it to not more than a ten-hour drive. “I was thrilled to attend my first holistic expo as an exhibitor for the Biomat® in Denver, November of 2011. I was so excited to make three sales at that event. It got me fired up to attend more conferences in the future,” exclaimed McShane. Customer experiences Sue continues to exude passion when sharing the Biomat® and is driven by the chance to touch the lives of those around her. Sue’s customers have come to love the Biomat®, whether they are professionals that use it in their clinics, or mothers who have used it for stress and pain relief, Sue has a plethora for customer stories that stand out to her. In the many years that Sue has
Two starting players on the Broncos loved the mat, and both bought Biomat® Kings for their own personal use. “After the Super Bowl, we were joking that the reason that the Broncos won the Super Bowl that season was because two of their key players have Biomats®!” remarked McShane. Personal success for Sue is not an end, but rather a journey. Progress that one keeps striving for. “Success for me is being the best I can be on a daily basis and using my skills and talents to add something greater to the whole,” said McShane. Conquering the day Sue meets the challenges of her day with open arms and fills her days with meaningful activities. Joining the Richway family has given her the opportunity to revamp her lifestyle. “First of all, I have been able to make an excellent income doing what I love - traveling, JUNE 2018 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH 21

seeing new places, meeting new people, promoting an outstanding product that I am passionate about, and making friends along the way,” said McShane. Richway has also given Sue the opportunity to develop various aspects of her life, helping her to become a more well-rounded individual. She has curated and sharpened skills in various subjects. “I gained more confidence in public speaking, and I learned a great deal about far infrared technology as well as about the business side of the company. I became more confident in myself as a salesperson, too,” explained McShane.
Sue maintains an optimistic attitude. With the trials and tribulations of everyday life, how does she make this possible? “I usually wake up early and exercise every morning. Exercise clears my head, gets my heart rate up, and helps me to focus,” explained McShane. Sue also keeps a “to-do list,” and one of the notes on that list is to follow up with her Biomat® clients. She also tries to attend a few networking events a week. This allows her to practice her elevator pitch, understanding of the products, and connect with potential buyers.
“It’s nice when I have two to three leads coming into the week,” said McShane. “Flyer Day” is something that Sue created. Once a month, she will reach out to a new locale to find wellness centers, clinics, or therapy businesses to share brochures and information about Richway and the products. Sue also attributes much of her success to her sponsor, Marilyn. Through the time that they have been working together, Sue has found Marilyn to be extremely supportive of her. Marilyn’s continued patience and kindness is also highly praised by Sue. Furthermore, Marilyn’s extensive knowledge of JUNE 2018 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH 23
Richway products, technology, policies, and the business aspect has been invaluable to Sue. “Without her consistent guidance and support, I would not have been able to achieve the level that I’m now at as a distributor. She is truly a dynamo, and I am grateful to be part of her team!” exclaimed McShane. Sue urges all ISAs to reach out to their sponsor whenever help is needed. Marilyn has taught Sue that selling requires connecting with people, and if 24 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018
you can get in front of people, “the mat [can] sell itself.” Reciprocating the support she receives from her upline, she makes it a core responsibility to be available to her own downlines when they email or call her with questions. She also tries to create a game plan for her downlines to help them succeed. “I keep track of their progress, letting them know what level they’re at, and what they need to achieve the next level,” explained McShane.
When she finds herself unable to help her downline, Marilyn is there to assist in whatever way she can. Sue’s tips for success As we often hear through successful ISAs, one of the most important points to keep in mind is not to pre-judge any person when talking about the Biomat® or business opportunity. Sue echoes these sentiments. “Everyone is a potential buyer, or someone they know is,” explained McShane.
©barnimages
She also recommends keeping some brochures handy at all times, as you never know who you will run into when out and about. “I once made a sale to someone I met on a plane. She didn’t buy the mat right then, but a few months later she did, and then she became an amazing resource for a professional conference she referred me to, where I met several other therapists who bought mats,” said McShane. Following up with clients after purchasing is vital to any
successful business, and Sue advises doing this and going the extra mile to work with people. With online shopping and automation dominating the business world, Sue advises on adding a personal touch to your business operations. “In this day and age of intense technology, I think people appreciate talking to a real person. Be persistent when making contact with potential buyers, and follow up after you’ve had a conversation with someone who seems interested,” advised McShane.
As an example, for her elderly clients, Sue will sometimes go their homes to help set up their Biomats® and explain the heat settings. She also takes this time to explain the technology. For Sue, success is being able to be the best that you be, contributing to the greater good, and meeting the daily challenges that life brings with “an open heart, grace, patience, love, kindness, generosity, and a sense of humor.”

Returning Energy Flow with the BiomatÂŽ Acupuncture is a complementary medical treatment used in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Increasingly, people are turning to the practice looking for a non-pharmaceutical approach.
A
cceptance of the practice continues to grow, as an increasing number of institutions recognize acupuncture as an effective form of health care. Acupuncture is now covered by many insurance policies, and doctors are eager to find a drug-free alternative to pain management in light of the dangers of opioids, and the opioid crisis in the United States. The National Institutes of Health (NIH), an agency within the U.S. Department of Health, recognizes acupuncture as an effective treatment for pain and an adjunct treatment for addiction, stroke rehabilitation, headache, carpal tunnel syndrome, and other conditions1. The World Health Organization (WHO), an agency within the United Nations issued a report listing 28 diseases, symptoms and conditions for which acupuncture has been proven effective2. The American Medical Association Journal of Internal Medicine (JAMA) concluded acupuncture as an effective means for reducing chronic pain with few side effects3. What is acupuncture? Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medical practice in which trained practitioners stimulate specific points on the body to relieve pain or treat a health condition. Meridians – The pathways in which chi flows. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the meridians are connected to organs and glands transporting vital energy and nutrients to all the cells in our body. When a meridian is blocked, the flow of chi is disrupted. This disruption can lead to pain and illness.

The following list is from the World Health Organization (WHO)4. The WHO recognizes acupuncture’s therapeutic effects for over 28 diseases, symptoms, or conditions, but noted additional controlled trials are needed.
Imagine the inside of your body as a network of roads. When the system is clear, everything will function normally. However, when there is an accident, the cars will begin to back up, causing traffic. Our body expresses this traffic as pain or dysfunction. An acupuncturist will stimulate certain points on the body to divert the traffic and remove the accident, thus restoring normal flow.

The science behind acupuncture Acupuncture stimulates the body’s natural pain relieving and self-healing mechanisms. Exactly how this works is still being understood. Research has demonstrated the procedure can cause multiple biological responses by sensory neurons which then have a physiological effect on the brain and body. When an acupressure point is stimulated, the nervous system releases chemicals in the muscles, spinal cord and brain. These chemicals assuage pain, or they will trigger the release of other chemicals which influences the body’s own natural healing system. How the Biomat® helps In acupuncture, when the meridians are blocked, and the flow is stagnant, pain and other conditions begin to appear. The Biomat® will assist the practitioner in returning flow, because the far-infrared heat increases circulation, relaxes muscles and reduces stiffness. Jessica Barrett, the founder of Denver Mind Body Essence, has found the Biomat® aids the TCM and acupuncture she uses on patients. “[The Biomat®] enhances the energy moving through the body that is created and directed with the needles. Really, it can help to enhance the results I am getting with acupuncture because the body more quickly goes into the parasympathetic state and can more easily rest and heal,” said Barrett. Diamond Executive ISA Kate Carter of Acupuncture with Kate has been practicing acupuncture for over 20 years. She has found her treatments work faster with the Biomat®, and her clients notice the difference. “I think it relaxes them so that they are more receptive to the needles and to allowing the treatments to take hold. As stress is the cause of so many illnesses and pathologies that develop when the stress is reduced, people heal more easily and aren’t as vulnerable 4 http://apps.who.int/bookorders/anglais/detart1.jsp?codlan=1&codcol=93&codcch=196

Diamond Executive ISA Claudette Baker, owner of Glenview Healing Arts Center says, “because the Biomat® induces a deep state of relaxation and calm, stress levels reduce.” Baker was instrumental in passing legislation which allowed practitioners to be licensed in 1997. All the treatment tables at her clinic have Biomats® on them. 30 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018
“It is a fact that stress is the mother of many imbalances and contributes to most chronic diseases, so anything that can help people interrupt the stress cycle is critical in healing illness and regaining a vibrant state of health and wellbeing,” said Baker.
“They love it. I find that it takes them to a much deeper level of relaxation. The far infrared heat provides soothing energy to soften tense muscles,” says Gold Executive ISA Michael Vahila of Vahila Acupuncture and Massage Therapy.

I often hear self-defeating comments from Biomat® distributors such as, “I’m not a salesperson,” “I don’t know how to sell,” and “I don’t know enough science about the Biomat® to speak Well, here’s the really cool part of this equation: intelligently with people.” adding a meditation component to your Biomat® sessions can yield astronomical positives. “It does not matter how long you are spending on the earth, how much money you have gathered or how much attention you have received. It is the amount of positive vibration you have radiated in life that matters.” - Amit Ray, Meditation: Insights and Inspirations Meditating on the Biomat® is your “in” to limitless Biomat® sales. It’s not about the selling of our “magic carpet ride.” It’s about fine-tuning to the frequency of the amethyst through meditation and getting your mojo back. Just 15 minutes, two times a day is magical. Yes, it sounds too good to be true. However, I challenge you to try it for 30 days and watch what happens. Witness the magnificent nuances that begin showing up in your life. The shapes of the leaves on the trees suddenly have a beauty you’ve never noticed before. Your buttons are no longer being pushed by friends, family or strangers. You honk your horn less at inconsiderate drivers. You feel less judgmental. You wonder, “Wow, what’s
up? I seem to be in such a great mood all the time!” When combining your Biomat® experience with meditation, you tap into a peaceful, happy place – you’re in love with life! This contagious enthusiasm multiplies in a mathematical matrix that builds your Biomat® network without you ever having to feel like you are selling. People will want to have what you have (feeling good, positive, energetic and full of life). Everyone wants that, and most people are in search of it. Here’s the amusing bit about how the math works in your favor: 15 Minutes, 2 x Day x 17lbs. Amethyst = A lot of good vibrations! You are probably saying, “I don’t have 15 minutes once a day, much less twice a day.” This is the marvelous part of amethyst meditation on your Biomat®. Your productivity, creativity and zest for life will soar. Once you get a sense of tapping into your true power, you will be a high-flying JUNE 2018 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH 33
Superhero. And we all know, Superheroes get it done. You’ll be completely amazed how meditation on the Biomat® can transform your life both personally and professionally. When you think of some of the powerful people in the world, you wonder how they accomplished so much. John Kennedy, Maya Angelou, Deepak Chopra (more than 80 books written, 21 of them New York Times best sellers) all achieved monumental success with enormous efficiency. Isn’t it exciting to you that you have a tool/ device/mat/magic carpet that easily allows you to tap into your sweet super soul self? Perhaps you tried meditation previously and became bored because you felt you were not successful. It’s so much simpler today. There are free apps with guided meditations that make it easy and interesting. Four of the top ones are Calm, Headspace Meditation, Insight Studio and Insight Timer. Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey have a whole library of beautiful sanskrit mantra meditations (these are my favorite). They each speak passionately heartfelt words for a few minutes followed by the sanskrit mantra meditation with background music included. You have the option to choose a 15-minute or 30-minute version. Visit www.ChopraCenterMeditation.com. There are even online training courses for learning meditation. Dr. Mark Hyman recommends www.zivameditation.com. If you are still skeptical, I challenge you to a 30-day meditation experiment. I believe that after one week, you will start to notice the benefits – your step will be lighter; your thoughts will be creative and productive rather than critical and destructive. And if you want further evidence, the JAMA for Internal Medicine, a peer-reviewed medical journal published monthly by the American Medical Association found that meditation helps heal depression and anxiety about as effectively as antidepressants. It floods the brain with serotonin and dopamine. You have invested your time and money into the Biomat®. Let these stones go to work on you and for you. It truly is a gift to be able to share Richway’s life-changing Biomat®. Introducing the Biomat® to others brings meaning and appreciation to our lives. Remember the old adage, “what you give will come back to you 10-fold.” It’s simple math – give 15 minutes, 2 x day on your Biomat®, and witness your productivity and zest for life soar. It’s not sales technique or scientific knowledge that sells the Biomat® – it’s the attitude of peace, love and happiness! I urge you to try this happy formula for yourself. 34 RICHWAY WAVELENGTH JUNE 2018

ver since she was a young girl, Dr. Rita Lathon knew she wanted to be a doctor.
She followed her passion and graduated with top honors from Parker University, a private university founded as a college of chiropractic. Her clinic, Restorative Touch Chiropractic opened its doors in 2013. Dr. Lathon believes stress is the root of all disease and can manifest in many forms, including: structural imbalances (of the spine and muscles), nutritional imbalances or deficiencies, toxic buildup, and emotional stress manifesting as physiological imbalances.
get to the root of imbalances, remove interference, and allow the body to heal,” said Dr. Lathon. Dr. Lathon specializes in manual adjustments as well as table and instrument-assisted adjustments. She also offers Quantum Neurology, a light therapy which helps nerves that may be associated with painful or debilitating injuries, illnesses, or conditions to stabilize so that the body can heal itself.
Dr. Lathon learned about the Biomat® through her parents. She got in touch with a Pilates instructior who offered her one to try in her clinic. Utilizing both the Biomat® and Quantum Energy Pad® on her clinic’s “I believe in taking a truly holistic massage table, she observed approach to healthcare to her clients to see if they would

notice any difference in their treatment sessions. “I was astounded. I found that I could use very deep pressure on people who normally could not tolerate much pressure at all,” said Dr. Lathon. Dr. Lathon’s clients did not even notice that she was using deeper pressure techniques on them, and she did not receive any comments of discomfort from them when she did. Prior to this, she made note that these very same repeat clients would previously complain about techniques utilizing deeper pressure. Furthermore, regular clients who Dr. Lathon had treated for years with a record of having difficulty relaxing during
massage sessions became much more quiet, relaxed, and some would often “fall into a very deep, restorative sleep.” In her initial time with the Biomat®, Dr. Lathon’s clients noted that there was something about the Biomat® which enabled them to relax, and they felt her massage treatments were more effective as a result. Now that the Biomat® has been fully incorporated into Dr. Lathon’s practice, she has found that her patients enjoy it. She has observed that the far infrared rays help to deeply relax muscles, which makes her massage treatments more effective and easier to do. Dr. Lathon also notes that her clients benefit from the increased circulation, pain reduction, and deep relaxation
received when they are using the Biomat® through her sessions. “The Biomat® has definitely impacted my business in a positive way and has paid for itself many times over. People know that they will get a better massage from me, because they are getting the added benefit of the Biomat® with their treatments,” said Dr. Lathon. According to Dr. Lathon, the Biomat® has been especially beneficial to her clients who suffer from pain associated with arthritis and other ailments. “I recommend it highly to both patients and practitioners.”
