How to Use This Guide
Roanoke County’s department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism is proud to provide essential, diverse and innovative recreation services to enhance the quality of life for both its citizens and the Roanoke Valley as a whole! At the time of this printing, the department is responsible for managing over 1,000 acres of parkland, and over 120,000 square feet indoor community recreation space. This guidebook is the County’s first attempt to compile a comprehensive resource of park locations and amenities. Each park listing in this guidebook contains maps, directions and descriptions. Map symbols are defined in the key below. To find a park near you, use the county-wide map on page right. On the following pages you will find each location sorted alphabetically, starting with parks, then recreation centers, and finally greenways/trails. You can also find information about shelter rentals.
