Welcome to 2015/16 Dear Music Lovers:

IN 1996, A NEW ERA ARRIVED In 1996, following a two-year search which drew hundreds of conductors from around the world, the RSO found conductor, composer, and pianist David Stewart Wiley. The RSO’s young, new music director made his Roanoke debut in October of 1995 (auditioning for the job on a Monday Night Classics concert). He became the RSO’s fourth music director with the season that began in 1996. The first program included Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto with soloist Norman Krieger in his RSO debut.
