t is clear that the pool of experienced fundraisers will never be big enough to meet demand. The only answer is to develop people with potential and quickly transform them into successful fundraisers. That was the belief behind the creation of the Fundraising Trainee Programme in 2003 and it’s still relevant today. We specialise in conveying essential fundraising skills to people who are new to our profession. With nearly 200 graduates we know that we can fast-track people into world class fundraisers.
Taking up this Trainee Programme will give you the chance to bring in people with new skills and ideas. Our training Programme provides the only proven bridge between potential and professionalism. You can either put a current member of staff onto this programme, or you can plan your recruitment in the knowledge that this training resource will enable you to reach into the rich seam of potential talent.

taking the plunge Our programme is a proven solution to a severe skills shortage in the third sector. The charities that use our scheme fall into three broad categories: 1 Organisations that see this as a way of investing in fundraising for the first time. Usually small to medium sized organisations. 2 Charities that have been unable to find an experienced fundraiser for an existing post, and have switched to recruit a trainee as an alternative. 3

grow The Fundraising Trainee Programme
getting qualified Trainees can opt to gain Module One of the Certificate in Fundraising Management (accredited by the Institute of Fundraising). All that’s needed is to complete four workbased assignments with the support of a personal tutor to produce them. All of our tutors have several successful years’ experience in fundraising and some of them have already been through the trainee programme themselves.

Trainees receive a CD-Rom containing over 500 pages of course materials. In addition, case studies and other materials will be provided on each day of training.

One of the greatest benefits of the programme is the peer support from the other trainees. Previous groups have set up networks that provide a relaxed forum where problems can be shared and questions answered, as they all go through the same learning curve together. All the past groups still meet up regularly for social events. Not only does the programme help everyone to start a new career, but it also provides instant networking opportunities.
