Volunteering

HEFFIELD

Volunteering is a wonderful way to spend your free time. You’ll meet amazing new friends, do cool stuff for free (like taking kids quad biking or learning how to dry stone wall) and get to explore Sheffield. We have over 200 options – with lots in student neighbourhoods and the city centre. Oh, and did we mention, you’ll get plenty of that ‘warm and fuzzy’ feeling too?

“So little time can make so much difference to someone’s life.” Student Volunteer You can do something just for a day or give a couple of hours each fortnight. It’s flexible and you won’t be asked to help during exams or vacations. Plus volunteering helps you stand out from the crowd! You can access free training and get brilliant CV experience and references – all of which can open doors to future jobs. So if you want to get more out of your degree or you’re just looking for something totally fresh to do with your time, SheffieldVolunteering is waiting to hear from you. Find us in the Activities Zone, Mon to Fri, 10am - 5pm. Facebook: ‘SheffieldVolunteering 10/11’ email: volunteering@sheffield.ac.uk web: www.sheffieldvolunteering.info

Give it a Go Give it a Go really is the most fabulous of all activity programmes – giving you the chance to try new things, meet new people, learn new skills and visit different places around the UK. Put simply, it’s an activities extravaganza!

Fancy a day trip? With Give it a Go, you can try out bellydancing or jewellery making, learn how to snowboard or do Shiatsu massage, plus countless other experiences… all on a no-commitment, pay-as-you go basis.

Pay as you go and have fun! Thousands of students take part every year, and so should you! There are three main Give it a Go programmes throughout the year, plus tons of fun things going on in Intro week. Getting involved is easy: simply choose which activities you want to do, then buy a ticket in advance from the Students’ Union Box Office. Find out more:
