I chose Flanigan’s as my base when I visited Zion with my family and it turned out to be an excellent choice After a hectic week on the road touring Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Arches National Park we’d planned to have some downtime at Zion. We were also going to be there over Christmas and wanted our own space The thought of spending five nights over Christmas with two adults and two teenagers in a hotel room really didn’t appeal
Fortunately that's when I discovered Flanigan's Inn. As well as having standard rooms Flanigan's also has two villas which are standalone houses located across the road from the main hotel The villa was perfect for our family of four and allowed us the flexibility to come and go as we pleased and spend time together while still having our own space
Zion was impressive but so was the villa It’s not very often that I arrive at a hotel and find that my expectations are exceeded! The villa looked great on the Flanigan's website but was even better in real life

We had a lounge with TV, sofas and a fireplace where we had family movie nights There was a good size kitchen with everything we needed to prepare our own meals plus a BBQ and ample outdoor space The red rock views from every window were magnificent and the Flanigan's staff were always on hand and more than happy to help when required.
We also found the Best Western Plus hotels to be good for families Our room at the Best Western Plus Bryce Canyon had two queen beds and a sofa bed so a couple plus two children or teenagers can all be comfortably accommodated A fridge and microwave also helped keep costs down as we could store and prepare basic meals in the room
You can also wake up to Zion’s iconic red-rock landscape in a classic Airstream or a safari inspired tent with all your home comforts and the finishing touches of a boutique hotel like luxury linens, coffee makers and private bathrooms.
Under Canvas are leading the way in traditional safari-inspired tent glamping and have sites at Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks Tents can sleep between 2 to 7 people depending on the style and configuration; some with private bathrooms, all with wood burning stoves and communal fire pits with complimentary S’mores Breakfast, picnic lunches and dinner are also available on site.
AutoCamps modern Airstream suites and luxury tents come with modern bathrooms, walk-in showers, luxury linens, kitchen area with mini refrigerator and microwave plus a private patio with grill, firepit, and dining area

Under Canvas Zion and AutoCamp Zion are about a thirty minute drive to the visitor Center and entry booths but you’ll be closer to the quieter areas of the park and plenty of activities are also available on site
It’s worth mentoning that many glamping sites are seasonal and close during the colder months so check before making travel plans
