The aging population and youths have completely different everyday rituals or routines. Youth cultures, in particular, have everyday rituals or routines oriented towards technology contrary to the aging population. The internet and social media currently define and determine the everyday rituals of the youths in the contemporary culture. The aging population, on the other hand, still maintains some of the behaviors picked at a youthful age only that these differ significantly from those of the contemporary youth cultures. Even so, a relationship of some everyday rituals or routines of the youth and aging population still exist. However, the aging process compromises the execution of these everyday rituals. One everyday routine that is common among youth cultures and the aging population is the use of motor vehicles. However, night blindness compromises the driving capabilities of older adults mostly due to the onset of agerelated eye problems.

NIGHT BLINDNESS Night blindness is also called “nyctalopia.” It’s a type of vision impairment. People with night blindness experience poor vision at night or in dimly lit environments. Although the term “night blindness” implies that you can’t see at night, this isn’t the case. You may just have more difficulty seeing or driving in darkness. FLEUR

FACTS
<5% P E O P L E W HO HA S NIGHT BLINDNESS THAT YOUNGER THAN 65 YEARS OLD FLEUR
Night blindness or nyctalopia affects people regardless of their age and often causes reduced night vision. Night blindness is as a result of various disease processes and can manifest as an inherited or acquired condition. The principal causes of the eye problem comprise cataracts, diabetes, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, vitamin A deficiency, and nearsightedness. The likelihood of older adults developing cataracts is very high. Quillen noted that “the prevalence of cataract increases with age from less than 5 percent in persons under 65 years of age to approximately 50 percent in those 75 years of age and older. Therefore, this increases the chance that these older adults will develop night blindness. In some instances, people develop the condition due to vitamin A deficiency. The high incidence of diabetes among older adults might also lead to the development of night blindness. The aging process itself can induce night blindness due to age-related macular degeneration, which manifests as blurred vision and image distortion. The eyes of the aging population also experience reduced contrast sensitivity and the wearing down of the functionality of the retina, cornea, and the lens. Night blindness is a common problem, but there is no accurate estimate or reliable data that reflects the epidemiology of the eye problem. The only available epidemiological data is for vitamin A deficiency and retinitis pigmentosa. Retinitis pigmentosa is heritable and affects over one million people with the global prevalence averaging one person in every 4000 people. It occurs due to retina damage and mostly affects individuals below 30 years.

VISION COMPARISON Night blindness is generally caused by impaired functioning of the rods. This can result in a longer time to adapt to light and in a higher threshold of light needed to see at all. People with night blindness see poorly at night, and they also require more time for their eyes to adjust from bright areas to dim ones. In addition, people with night blindness may have poor contrast vision, especially in low light situations.

IMPACT
,
Night blindness has likely caused numerous automobile accidents, although this has been difficult to document. Most accidents occur around sunset, and this may be due to poor contrast vision as well as poor night vision. Generally, even at night in most places, headlights and streetlights provide enough light to see. However, this is not always the case in rural areas. Someone with documented night blindness may be restricted from driving at night. Night vision is especially important for pilots, both commercial and in the military where vision is routinely checked. Night blindness can be disqualifying in these jobs. A military occupation that particularly relies on night vision is the scout. Although soldiers in most positions in the military depend on night vision, the scout specializes in having good night vision. Night blindness, even if temporary, during times of war can prove to be dangerous or fatal. Some children who are afraid of the dark may in fact have night blindness. Fear of the dark, or nyctophobia, in children is not a fear of the dark per se but a fear of partially visible things in the room heightened by imagination. Night blindness may add to this effect, as the child may not be able to clearly see objects in the room for what they are.

NIGHT VISION TECHNOLOGIES HISTORY
Before the introduction of image intensifiers, night glasses were the only method of night vision, and thus were widely utilized, especially at sea. Second World War era night glasses usually had a lens diameter of 56Â mm or more with magnification of seven or eight. Major drawbacks of night glasses are their large size and weight.

A night vision device (NVD) is a device comprising an image intensifier tube in a rigid casing, commonly used by military forces. Lately, night vision technology has become more widely available for civilian use. For example, enhanced vision systems (EVS) have become available for aircraft to help pilots with situational awareness and avoid accidents.
CURRENT TECHNOLOGY A specific type of NVD, the night vision goggle (NVG) is a night vision device with dual eyepieces. The device can utilize either one intensifier tube with the same image sent to both eyes, or a separate image intensifier tube for each eye. Night glasses are single or binocular with a large diameter objective. Large lenses can gather and concentrate light, thus intensifying light with purely optical means and enabling the user to see better in the dark than with the naked eye alone. Often night glasses also have a fairly large exit pupil of 7 mm or more to let all gathered light into the user's eye.

Night blindness is especially problematic when driving because the failure of the retina to adjust according to changes in lighting in dark conditions makes focusing very difficult. As such, it can become a source of accidents. The American Medical Association stated that older drivers present a significant public health concern because of age-related visual perception decline, including a deterioration in their cognitive and motor function. However, various glass products can enhance night vision and minimize cases of accidents. Red-tinted glasses can, for instance, eliminate the need for the eye to adjust to dark conditions and allow for easier focus. A patient whose night blindness is as a result of nearsightedness might require prescription glasses or even contact lens in case the condition worsens. In addition, people with night blindness can use prescription glasses when driving in the nighttime or engaging in other activities in the nighttime.

WHY 3D PRINTING? 2. Customized 1. Access to advanced equipment and materials. Over the last few years 3D printing service providers have evolved from rapid prototyping with a few plastic 3D printing technologies to contract manufacturing with a broader service offering. In my project, i choose to use PET recyclable plastic, This material would working well with 3D printing.
FLEUR
3D printing is unlikely to replace the usual ways of making products. However this technology will offer the possibility of making individual parts whenever required – something more suitable for making personal symbol product, rather than making millions of tins for sale at a supermarket. For Fleur glasses frame, my consumer could design their own frames by choosing model color or adding details on the frame surface. On-line markets make it possible for buyers to upload 3D printable templates of objects and sell them all over the world. Instead of paying shipping fees sellers can just order an object to be 3D printed at the nearest 3D printing shop for the customer. These 3D printing facilities will be available not only in special places.

3 D P R I N T I N G M AT E R I A L PET PET (PolyEthylene Terephthalate) has become well known from plastic bottles. In its original state PET filament is a colorless and crystal clear material. But when you heat or cool down the material changes its transparency. The material has more crystalline structure when allowed to cool down slowly after printing. The filament is fairly hard and shockproof, so it makes it ideal for lightweight items.
FLEUR
3D Printing community brought up a big variety of different filament types to use for their projects. So how to choose the right type and what everyone needs to know before planning the whole process of printing. Today we are going to review the following materials: 1. ABS and PLA 2. HIPS and PVA 3. Nylon 4. Wood 5. PET 6. PETT 7. Polycarbonate (PC) 8. TPE 9. Soft PLA or Flex EcoPLA
