Contents Created in the spirit of Audi Vorsprung durch Technik Welcome to the second issue of allroad – Robinsons Audi Magazine. We look forward to sharing the next instalment of exciting model launches, new technology and reviews from our ever-expanding portfolio. In this issue, everything got hotter. We added a dose of Audi Sport to the model line-up – from the small but fierce S1 and the all-new S5 to the even more powerful RS 7 and SQ5. For the first time, our Cabriolet range shared a spotlight and our e-tron models stood nose-to-nose. With no signs of slowing down and in line with the Audi philosophy; the spirit of progress was impressively demonstrated at the Geneva International Motor Show this year. Bringing the action a little closer to home, we introduce you to more of our Norwich and Lowestoft teams, take a look at our history and bring you the highlights from our quattro Cup Golf Tournament. Now with a busy end of year in front of us, I would like to thank you for your continued support of Robinsons Audi and hope that you enjoy reading our latest issue.

Open Season
in the Cabriolet Range The Audi cabriolet range encapsulates the fun of open-top driving, thanks to an electric fabric roof and powerful performance. It’s the ideal body type if you want a choice between a quiet, relaxed drive when the roof is up and an exhilarating driving experience when the roof is down. Audi R8 Spyder Underlining the model’s beauty, the impressive mid-engine with dual injection system sets the tone in the Audi R8 Spyder V10. The free-breathing, 5.2 litre engine responds spontaneously and revs up quickly, allowing all to enjoy its goose bump-inducing sonorous sound – which can be optionally amplified by a sport exhaust system with gloss black tailpipe trims. Lightweight with the newly developed multimaterial Audi Space Frame, made from aluminium and carbon fibre, the R8 Spyder holds a strong backbone. The convertible top of the R8 Spyder weighs just 44 kg, thus contributing to the low centre of gravity of the high-performance
sports car. Two fins running to the rear stretch the cloth, compartmentalising the convertible top in harmony with its striking design. Offering a 540 PS V10 engine or 610 PS V10 plus, both provide unfaltering performance and a sound that is sure to move you. No matter how fast the car is moving through the corners, the low R8 sport seats with integrated head restraints hold the driver and the passenger firmly in position. Opt for R8 bucket seats, and feel the even greater hold. The open-top, highperformance sports car is available in eleven colours, with the new shade Argus brown reserved exclusively for the Spyder with the convertible top is available in black, brown or red.

S5 Cabriolet With a soft-top roof that follows the same lines as the Coupé, the Audi S5 Cabriolet has a sophisticated, svelte profile. The cabin is surprisingly quiet thanks to the standard acoustic hood that insulates you from road and wind noise. And if you’d like to see – or feel the power of the 3.0 litre V6 TFSI engine – a little more, you just need to press the one-touch switch and the roof will drop in just 15 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph. The supercharged unit delivers up to 354 PS, 500 Nm of torque and a top speed of up to 155 mph, channelling all that power through the legendary quattro all-wheel drive system. Featured in the mix of Audi convertibles, the S5 Cabriolet

boasts ‘S’ body styling including subtle badging and 19-inch alloy wheels for a powerful visual statement. Inside, each feature has been crafted for your comfort and driving pleasure. Standard features include luxurious twinleather upholstery, heated front seats, 7-inch colour driver’s information system and Audi Sound System. With Audi Drive Select you can tailor the ride to suit you perfectly. The system integrates seamlessly with the optional adaptive dampers, giving you the ultimate in comfort and responsiveness. And thanks to the new electromechanical power steering, you’ll have better feedback from the road and precision when you need it most.
A3 Cabriolet Distinguished by its smooth horizontal silhouette when the soft-top roof is down, the flow of sharp lines of the A3 Cabriolet balance sporty with elegance. The rear accentuates the width of the A3 with the horizontal lighting graphics and the separation edge above the newly styled diffusor. With the A3 S line featured, an upgrade to 18-inch alloy wheels ground an already low-rise convertible ensuring comfort with Sport suspension. The headlights are flatter with distinctive outside contours to frame the Singleframe grille, with the option to brandish the grille with S badging for the S3 Cabriolet. A versatile model, the A3
Cabriolet is available with a choice of six engines: three TFSI engines including quattro or Cylinder on Demand technology, and three TDI again with the option of quattro all-wheel drive. Their power output ranges from 116 PS to 190 PS with the option to pack more hints of power into the design with sporty upgrades. Take your seat in the luxurious cabin, opting for an acoustic top as an effective solution for noise insulation. Too quiet? It takes just 18 seconds to transform from open to closed, at the touch of a button. Whichever model you choose, you’ll have a high level of equipment as standard, including Cruise Control and Audi Virtual Cockpit to keep you connected.
Audi TT S Roadster The Roadster is the Cabriolet option to the TT range, available with the TT, TTS and TT RS. The silhouette is just as distinctive as the Coupé. The styling is as eye-catching as ever. But one key feature makes all the difference in the Audi TT Roadster: a finely crafted soft-top roof that opens and closes in just 10 seconds. An icon with no need for description, it’s beneath the unmistakable bodywork that lies something just as remarkable: the engine. There’s a choice of petrol and diesel engines, incorporated with Audi Drive Select, as well as optional quattro all-wheel drive. The ‘S’ model featured takes the TT’s performance to the next level. The TTS Roadster is capable of
accelerating from 0 - 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds, and capable of a top speed of 155 mph – maximising the thrill with the roof down. The interior benefits from heated front Super Sport seats in a luxurious Fine Nappa leather, along with coloured interior elements in Quartz Anthracite. To enhance openair driving, Audi can install a power extending mesh wind deflector and headroom heating for the S Sport seats. Another option available on some Audi convertibles, the leather seat covers can contain a special pigment that prevents their surfaces from heating up too much in the sun. Perfect for sitting comfortably in the sunshine.

The All-new Audi SQ5
Taut. Defined. Powerful The curved shoulder line and flared wheel arches give the Audi Q5 a profile that’s unmistakable. The latest Audi Q5 range was redesigned from the ground up earlier this year, and fresh from its European premiere in Geneva, Audi’s SQ5 TFSI now joins the Q5 in showrooms. The top model in the line-up gets its power from the turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 engine, and earning the credentials to its name, the added ‘S’ increases the power by over 100 PS. Far from being overlooked as the middle-child in the Q range family, the all-new SQ5 demands attention. Its wide and taut stance is enhanced by the ‘S’ exterior body styling and 20-inch cast aluminium wheels
in a 5-double-spoke star design, flashing red sport brake calipers. Coupled with the iconic Q design features like the honeycomb grille, prominent rear spoiler and c-pillars align it with the rest of the family. Upgrade to Matrix LED headlights and the distinctive face of the SQ5 becomes all the more striking. Both the interior and exterior of the Audi SQ5 stand apart from the base model with design features and an expanded standard equipment package exclusive to the model line – including the ‘S’ logo with red rhombus used to accentuate sporty accents. The dark-toned interior relaxes your mind and re-focuses your energy on the drive of the SQ5. Designed for performance,

inside speaks subtle luxury and comfort. The S Sport seats are available in a choice of leathers, opt for fine Nappa leather for additional diamond stitching and a pneumatic massage function. Bringing in clean tones and textures, brushed aluminium inlays are standard and are embossed with the ‘S’ logo, with a variety of wood applications and an exclusive carbon inlay available as options. There’s much more to the Audi SQ5 than striking looks and enhanced body styling. This performance SUV also delivers breath-taking power, harnessed with exceptional agility and handling. The Audi SQ5 is capable of 0 - 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds. And, with an 8-speed tiptronic transmission, gear changes are just as quick and effortless. With a 3.0 litre TFSI V6 engine, it’s a true sports model that promises an exhilarating drive. Driving dynamics can be enhanced further thanks to quattro with Sport differential or ‘S’ adaptive air suspension that ensures outstanding comfort on even the most unpredictable of road surfaces. Enhancing the handling from the base model, optional Sport differential will actively distribute up to 500 Nm of the potential torque between the
rear wheels and the optional dynamic steering with variable ratios. For a noticeably more controlled handling, more torque is sent to the outside rear wheel when accelerating out of particularly tight situations. The Sport differential literally pushes the car into the curve, nipping understeer in the bud. The new Audi SQ5 picks up the Driver Assistance systems from the broad, high-tech portfolio of the Audi Q5. The top-of-theline infotainment system in the SQ5 uses MMI Navigation Plus with MMI all-in-touch and an 8.3-inch display. Forging a link between your Audi and the internet, Audi Connect Infotainment Services gives you access to entertainment, information and search functions via scrolling, tapping or verbal commands. With high-speed 4G internet access in your car, via an embedded SIM card, you can call up flight information, fuel prices and weather, as well as highresolution aerial and satellite pictures from Google Earth. Glittering aluminium accentuates the design and a black honeycomb grille houses four rear tailpipes. The pulsating heart of the new Audi S5 Sportback is a fundamentally new 3.0 litre TFSI engine leaving you in no doubt that this is a member of the Audi high-performance club. Sportback
Built for Performance Back in 1984 Audi launched the Audi Sport quattro. This model would shape the very essence of the cars produced ever since to culminate a proud motor sport history. The intervening years have seen the hot RS brand grow to become an entity in its own right. Taking its place at the top of the range, the RS 7 Sportback brings together astonishing performance with luxury and refinement. Built around a finely tuned V8 twin-turbo engine, it’s

clearly a car with racing heritage in its genes. Unmistakably a performance model, the signature RS hallmarks elevate this model from the Audi A7. Enhanced body styling includes Matrix LED headlights, gloss black honeycomb-design grille, flared wheel arches and rear spoiler, plus aggressive dual oval tailpipes. Thanks to the dynamic 20-inch, 7-twin-spoke alloy wheels – nobody is left guessing
whether the RS 7 can handle the power within. Even less mystery surrounds the potential power of this model’s variant. Increased performance coupled with outstanding efficiency is what is behind the ‘Performance’ derivative of the RS 7 Sportback. The looks are more aggressive, featuring titanium styling and quattro badges. The alloy wheels are larger, measuring a full 21-inches. These exterior
finishing’s are only signposting the real difference between the two variants... Built to earn the RS credentials, a 4.0 litre engine powers the RS 7 Sportback from 0 - 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds. What sets this and the Performance model apart lies in the 4.0 litre bi-turbo engine. It’s been enhanced to deliver more power and more torque – and to take you from 0 - 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, a feat usually reserved for

supercars. A particular highlight of the engine is an Overboost function allowing the driver to temporarily draw on up to 750 Nm of torque to shave off that 0.2 of a second. Engineering skills and long years of experience with RS highperformance models went into further optimising the 4.0 TFSI engine. Endlessly proven from the specific engine management system with increased RPM and boost pressure, to the
Audi Cylinder on Demand (CoD) system, which only activates four of the eight cylinders when under part load. Factor in the eight-speed tiptronic and quattro permanent all-wheel drive on both derivatives, and it’s easy to understand how Audi get away with packing so much power into their RS models. But there’s much more to this car than raw power. Opt for RS Sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control to experience a
special shock absorber system that counteracts pitch and body roll, giving you an overall feeling of stability, in even the most demanding corners. Add dynamic steering and you’ll benefit from reduced steering effort at low speeds and, importantly for a car with a top speed of 155 mph, a smoother ride at high speeds. A car as powerful as an RS needs you to feel the part. Interior finishing takes special attention to detail in everything from the
luxurious honeycomb design Valcona leather on RS Super Sport seats to Super-light Carbon inlays. Packing in the technology for fun, optional Head-up Display projects key information you need onto the windscreen in front of you, and MMI Touch enables you to control key features of your car, such as navigation entries, by ‘writing’ with your fingertip; innovations that make driving simpler and more enjoyable than ever.

Sportback Breathing life into the golden era of sportscar racing and rallying competitions in the 1980’s, the Audi S1 has earned its legendary reputation. This unrivalled embodiment of a compact sports car is produced today as an entry-level version to the Audi S model portfolio. Boasting the same historic power – now from a highperformance, four-cylinder 2.0 litre TFSI turbocharger engine – it’s made practical for everyday

driving with quattro permanent all-wheel drive. While this model excels in track-to-road modifications and sets a benchmark for its class, there’s more to the Audi S1 than power alone. Exterior body styling exudes self-confidence, exaggerated by S1 exclusive paint colours in Vegas Yellow and Sepang Blue or the optional red calipers flaunting the S1 logo. The door sills flash S1 embossed aluminium inlays,

complimented by ‘S’ badging inside and out. Xenon plus headlights and imposing sports bumper impress from the front, balancing and honing the look to the rear thanks to a large roof spoiler and striking exhaust. The sports styling becomes subtler in the interior, dominated by black and grey finishing including brushed stainless steel. The S1 awakens your other senses from your position in comfortable S sports seats, sharing soft, rumbling vibrations and the sonorous sound from the engine. The option to add striking colour accents, like contrast stitching, is available by selecting the
quattro interior styling package. Manoeuvring around the abandoned offices of Norwich’s North City, the S1 steers effortlessly thanks to electromechanical power steering and four-link rear suspension which guarantees dynamic handling. With enhanced pivot abilities and powerful brakes, the drive capabilities act as an ode to its racing namesake. Propulsive power that produces 231 PS and up to 370 Nm of torque means this compact and agile car accelerates 0 - 62 mph in just 5.9 seconds. Undeniably a superior compact vehicle, its fully fledged everyday practicality makes it the ideal driving machine.

Understated quality Lightweight materials. Intelligent technology. Fine interior details. All are headlines in the success story of the Audi A6. Now on its fourth generation, this model delivers the ideal combination of luxury and progress, of practicality and excitement. With advanced features that help you on the road, the A6 is designed to enhance your whole driving experience. Last year saw a trend in design and style rolled out by Audi, with the A6 benefiting from the sharper look. With a window of only 7-seconds to make a strong first impression, it’s no wonder this model is the
choice of so many business customers. Noticeably elegant contoured lines and emphasised horizontals epitomise precision. Look switched on and opt for the innovative Matrix LED technology. Heading up the smooth front end, this sophisticated lighting integrates 19 small, individually controllable LEDs in each headlight. With the aid of a camera they are able to illuminate the roadway extremely effectively at all times, without dazzling the drivers of other vehicles. Incorporated within, the dynamic turn signals complement the high-tech
headlights, and illuminate sequentially in the direction in which the driver wants to turn. The lean style of the exterior is echoed in the car’s spacious interior. Milano leather and heated front seats come as standard on the S line, ensuring that you can travel in the ultimate comfort on even the longest drive. Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go reduces the driver’s everyday workload. Hardly audible from the driving seat, ultra-engines combine performance and economy; thriving on the longer journeys. With a choice of four TDI engines, play with between 190 PS and 320 PS of power and rely on Audi for the right solution for power transmission: the six-speed manual transmission and the seven-speed S tronic for front-wheel drive. The line-up is completed with a seven-speed S tronic for quattro drive and the eight-speed tiptronic – for the two most powerful diesel engines. Robinsons Audi Magazine

allroad quattro
What takes you off the beaten track? There’s no lack of pleasure when an allroad gets down to business. Able to take on any terrain thanks partly to quattro all-wheel drive technology, the A4 allroad quattro is built for adventure. The fusion of purposefully rugged exterior elements with the familiar Audi design and style lends itself to a unique appearance. With 17-inch cast aluminium wheels in an eye-catching multi-spoke design, flared wheel arch extensions and a ground clearance 34 mm higher than the standard Audi A4 Avant, the Audi A4 allroad’s off-road capabilities are clear. Designed in either textured grey matte

or in the exterior colour, the rear bumper contrasts with the sturdy underbody protection and rear diffuser in selenite silver finishing. Xenon headlights with LED daytime-running lights bring superb visibility, while the bold Singleframe grille with vertical chrome louvers makes this model equally commanding on city roads as on countryside excursions. The torque-strong petrol and diesel engines in the Audi A4 allroad quattro offer improved performance and efficiency. The TFSI and three TDI engines produce between 190 - 272 PS, from a choice of power transmissions, the seven-speed S tronic or
the further developed eight-speed tiptronic. The A4 allroad quattro takes to untouched landscapes and worn roads alike with the aid of a five-link suspension. To make this advance really special, developers used an intelligent mix of materials to reduce the weight of the suspension components by a total of 12 kg. The all-wheel quattro drive with ultra technology made its debut in the Audi A4 allroad quattro 2.0 TFSI. As a result, potential fuel consumption is significantly reduced compared to a car with permanently engaged all-wheel drive. Yet, you still have all the benefits of quattro, as the system

is always ready to step in when needed. This recently introduced drive system is optimised for efficiency and doesn’t indicate any perceptible differences to permanent systems in terms of traction and driving dynamics. Undeniably setting standards in its class, especially under everyday driving conditions, this is an all-rounder vehicle with low fuel consumption and reduced CO2 emissions. It’s not just adapting to the road; this car will also adapt to the
driver. As on other Audi models, Audi Drive Select lets you tailor steering, transmission control and pedal responses precisely to suit you. The driver can use Audi Drive Select to choose from an enhanced range of functions at the push of a button. In addition to the familiar modes of Comfort, Auto, Dynamic, Efficiency and Individual–Offroad mode is available for trips where the paved road ends. On this allroad model, the system links to quattro all-wheel drive, so
when you can select the Offroad mode the car will change the way it holds the surface under the wheels, even in light terrain. The rough and ready additions which add to the exteriors character, return to the expected luxury when inside. The interior has a spacious feeling and is doused in sophisticated, high-end infotainment options. Stealing the limelight are the optional Audi Virtual Cockpit and the MMI 7-inch colour screen. Before you even set
off on the road, you can delve into an adventure using Audi Connect services - hosting the latest generation of online infotainment and smartphone connectivity. The brazen ability and distinctive exterior underscores the A4 allroad’s extroverted character. With its heightened frame, fortified underbody and higher roof rails it has earned the allroad badging brandished on the front fenders and the tailgate.

RS5 Debuting the all-new Audi Sport RS design and featuring a new, lighter V6 engine, producing power capable of 0 - 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds – the all-new RS 5 Coupé promises a new performance benchmark. The 2.9 TFSI V6 biturbo engine, which Audi developed from the ground up, offers sharp increases in power and efficiency as well as an incomparably full-bodied RS sound. Like all RS models, the RS 5 Coupé applies its power to the road with quattro permanent all-wheel drive. Seamlessly integrated, the
biturbo’s power flows through a sportily-tuned, eight-speed tiptronic with optimised shifttimes to the quattro drive. The high-performance Coupé combines elegant aesthetics with everyday usability. Sporty accents are provided by the RS-specific diffuser insert, the oval tailpipes of the RS exhaust system and surface-mounted spoiler lip. Roll standard on 19-inch wheels, or opt for 20-inch to suit the pronounced features including the wide bulges over the wheel arches and massive air inlets with the honeycomb Singleframe grille. Audi Sport also offers the RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), ceramic brakes and dynamic steering with RS-specific tuning to enhance an already jaw-dropping drive.

A8 The new Audi A8 celebrated its world premiere in July at the Audi Summit in Barcelona. The luxury saloon – and ultimate symbol of Vorsprung durch Technik – is launching a new design era for the brand. Audi is pressing ahead with the electrification of its drive systems, beginning with the new A8 and very quickly implementing it on to other models. Head of V-engine design, Andreas Frohlich, revealed “The
new Audi A8 will have a 48-volt electrical system – across both petrol and diesel. Every A8 will be electrified.” The lightweight design experts at Audi long ago abandoned the fixation on using a single material in lightweight design. With an intelligent mix of aluminium, steel, magnesium and carbon fibre-reinforced polymer they are establishing a new stage in multi-material construction in the Audi Space Frame (ASF). Thus, Audi once again rightfully claims its role as an innovation driver in automotive lightweight design. Its low weight and impressive rigidity offer greater performance, efficiency and safety.

The brightest sparks in the Audi line-up take the guise of their namesakes, but there’s a lot hidden behind their four rings. Audi has taken an electric motor and a conventional combustion engine to create a simple yet innovative electric driving experience. The A3 Sportback e-tron combines a 75 kW electric motor with a 1.4 TFSI petrol engine, while the Q7 e-tron is powered by a V6 TDI engine and the 94 kW electric motor. With an Audi e-tron you are offered the performance and reliability of a combustion engine, with the economy of an electric motor.

The A3 Sportback e-tron is recognisable by its subtle design cues; Audi intentionally does not develop any vehicles to be futuristic in their exterior appearance. Communicating the innovative technology through finer details of the design, includes e-tron specific instrument cluster, Singleframe radiator grille in chrome, e-tron exterior body-styling elements with exclusive badging. Thanks to the combination of engine, electric motor and the smooth-shifting S tronic transmission, the A3 Sportback e-tron can accelerate from 0 - 62 mph in just 7.6 seconds. And when driving in the pure electric mode, the e-tron produces zero emissions. Charging the A3 Sportback e-tron is simple. Slide the Audi rings on the front grille to one side and plug in the charging cables, the lithium-ion 8.8 kW battery only takes 2 hours and 15 minutes to fully charge. On a different scale entirely, the Q7 e-tron, is a spacious five-seater with SUV agility, quattro all-wheel drive technology and remarkable hybrid efficiency. The parent e-tron model is teeming with innovative solutions in all aspects of its technology – from its lightweight design, drive system and chassis to its infotainment and assistance systems. An inviting, spacious interior is highly configurable and offers luxury-class levels of comfort. Horizontal lines are emphasised by many of the sophisticated two-part inlays. When it is dark, optional very fine light guides trace the contours with individually selectable colours. The headlights of the Audi Q7 e-tron are three-dimensional, with their light appearing as a double arrow, a characteristic e-tron signature that underscores the horizontals. Ensuring this model isn’t left lacking, a highly efficient 3.0 litre TDI V6 diesel engine delivers 258 PS of power and 600 Nm of torque. The highvoltage battery provides 17.3 kWh of energy at a rated voltage of 308 volts; all installed beneath the luggage compartment so that it barely affects the space. With Audi e-tron, the way the car works is just the first chapter of this story. The way you control your Audi has been completely redefined. Using the Audi MMI Connect app means no matter where you are, you can see the current charge level, electric range and the location of your Audi. You can use your smartphone as a remote control to start your car charging with the push of a button, set a timer to do it automatically, or even set the climate control running using mains power – ensuring the cabin is at your ideal temperature when you get behind the wheel.

Sporty Prospects at the Geneva International Motor Show ‘17 Pulling away the veil on over 100 new cars for the first time, the Geneva International Motor Show presented six new models from Audi. Making some world premieres last March, models include the Audi Q8 sport concept, which has since been commended for ground-breaking drive system technology and its accentuated sporty look. The new RS 5 Coupé shared a headline with its counterpart in motorsport, the Audi RS 5 DTM starting the new season on the track with over 500 PS of power. Two more show debuts accompany the brand’s sporty presentation: the Audi RS 3 Sportback and the Audi SQ5. And with the A5 Sportback g-tron highlighting what’s available in other international markets; this line-up rounded off dynamic performance, everyday usability and elegant design with low CO2 emissions. Making a major step towards optimising efficiency and sustainability, it was the drive system of the Audi Q8 concept causing a stir amongst the public and heads of industry alike. The combination of a 3.0 litre TFSI six-cylinder engine with a mild hybrid system and an electric powered compressor is a
world first. Expecting to output 476 PS of power and 700 Nm of torque, the concept car sprints from 0 - 62 mph in just 4.7 seconds – and reaches a top speed of 171 mph. And its cruising range of over 745.6 miles makes it ideally suited for long-distance driving. Chairman of the Board of Management at AUDI AG, Rupert Stadler, says, “The combination of mild hybrid technology and a TFSI engine sets a new benchmark for the synthesis of electromobility and combustion engines. In the future, this combination will be used in many Audi models.” Characteristic aerodynamic features in the front and rear are a prominent part of the Audi Q8 sport concept design. The impressive front is dominated by an imposing octagonal honeycomb singleframe grille and flanked by two large air inlets. Emphatically sporty, extremely dynamic and luxurious – these qualities ensure the Audi Q8 sport concept makes a strong impression in the full-size category and will be entering production in 2018.
Audi highlights from the show: • Audi Q8 sport concept: dynamic looks and innovative drive system • Sporty top models: RS 5 Coupé, RS 3 Sportback and SQ5 TFSI • Audi A5 Sportback g-tron: climate-friendly with no compromises

Making way for a new exciting racing car, Audi Sport launched the DTM version simultaneously with the production car to emphasise the ‘born on the track, built for the road’ philosophy of RS. Geneva saw Audi take the wraps off its highly anticipated RS 5, revealing the first major upgrade to its coupé in nearly seven years. The Audi RS 5 Coupé demonstrates the transfer of technology from the race to the street. Head of Audi Motorsport, Dieter Gass, says, “For the first time, we developed a new DTM car in
parallel with the production model. This underlines once again how closely motorsport and production work together at Audi.” The track record of the previous-generation racing model sets benchmarks for the future. Having clinched ten victories in each of the last two seasons, it was the most successful DTM car in both years. Find out more about the Audi RS 5 Coupé in our Coming Soon feature, page 23. Bringing the best of Audi innovations together, Audi presented the first ever compact
saloon to bear an RS badge, a position justified by the most powerful five-cylinder engine on the world market. Soaring from 0 - 62 mph in just 4.1 seconds and optional 174 mph top speed, the powerful, new Audi RS 3 Sportback is due to arrive later this year. A threedimensional honeycomb grille with quattro badging and a
wider track sets the RS 3 saloon apart from other A3 models. There’s much more to the Audi SQ5 than striking looks and enhanced body styling. This performance SUV also delivers breath-taking power, harnessed with exceptional agility and handling. Now available in the UK, find out more about the SQ5 on page 9.

Audi React:
The calm within the storm As the world becomes more connected, so does the new Audi range. With even more intuitive technology, like Adaptive Cruise Control and reactive Matrix LED headlights, it’s as if the new Audi models have a brain.
Every ten milliseconds this intelligent system acquires and analyses a variety of data
Wet roads lead to challenges to driving – unless you drive with the confidence of quattro. The quattro electronics are networked with other control units in the car to continuously analyse a potential change in conditions. Every ten milliseconds this intelligent system acquires and analyses a variety of data. Whether it’s the steering angle, acceleration or engine torque; with reactive activation, quattro will react to sudden changes to friction. These occur when the wheels go from dry asphalt to a slippery road surface, and becomes more likely to activate at lower speeds or on a bend automatically distributing power between all four wheels to where it’s needed most. And if you don’t notice the intuitive all-wheel drive system adjusting behind the scenes, you’ll notice the automatic triggered windscreen wipers as the rain drops. Technology using radar sensors to improve safety include Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop&Go and Pre-sense Plus, among other systems to assist with lane changing, parking or night vision. Audi Cruise Control
reigns superior, with the distance between vehicles on the road kept more or less constant by automatic braking or accelerating. Pre-sense Plus provides enhanced brake assist functions which can detect and warn of imminent collision threats, as well as initiate maximum braking to help avoid or minimise collisions. One of the illuminating features of the reactive new Audi technology incorporates sensors and an inbuilt camera mounted on the interior mirror. Detecting other road users, as well as ambient light in built-up areas allows Matrix LED headlights to react. Automatically dipping to avoid dazzling other road users, the headlights will return to full illumination for the remainder of the journey. Where available, Matrix LED technology will even use the vehicle’s navigation data to anticipate corners, adjusting LEDs as you negotiate the bend. The result is a much wider visual range, benefitting both driver and other road users. The all-new technology doesn’t just drive a car. It makes it think.

Audi quattro Cup 37 years ago, Audi introduced the now legendary technology known as quattro all-wheel drive. 10 years later, the spirit of innovation, the sporty sophistication of the four rings and the thrill of competition converged on a golf course in Germany and the Audi quattro Cup was born. Welcoming customers from Norwich Audi, the quattro Cup returned to Norfolk for the 2017 invitational round in June. Open solely to Audi customers, the quattro Cup is the largest amateur golf tournament in the world, continuing to offer an unforgettable experience. For another year of exceptional hospitality, the heat was hosted by Barnham Broom on their Championship Golf Course. For the first round, the day follows a format of play being an individual competition using Stableford scoring. Should you be successful, you will progress as a two with the highest scorers from your round being paired together for our Regional Final on the 3rd August, held at Woburn Golf
Club, Buckinghamshire. Playing the Valley Course with its abundant water features, blending into the delightful natural landscape tested the skill levels of all who entered. The 72-par course, with its credentials as a tournament course firmly established, presented a day of steep competition. A welcome breakfast and glorious sunshine opened an eventful day and closed with honouring the best players from the day with an award presentation by Robinson’s Audi Brand Director, Mark Parker. Now in its 27th year, the competition attracts over 100,000 participants from 54 countries across the globe. In 2017, the two pairs with the highest scoring points from the UK Final will represent the UK in the prestigious 5-day World Final, to be held in Mexico at the Quivira Golf Club, Cabo San Lucas. We wish our top ten competitors all the best in the tournament, including top 3 players; Alison Mack, Rob Johnson and Mark Falgate.

Approved Used
Brought to you ahead of their time
Oh, we do love to be beside the seaside Lowestoft Audi Approved Used With our Lowestoft dealership dedicated to Used cars and a forecourt full at Norwich Audi, for our customers to feel assured is our number one priority. We do this by meeting a set of meticulous standards. Our team from Lowestoft have put together their Top 7 pointers to look out for when buying a Used car. 1. Firstly, make sure you can access all of the paperwork before you buy. Look out for the V5C registration document and match the registered keeper to the seller – if not, ask why. Check out everything on this matches up to the car on offer.
5. Ensure you can really afford the offer on the table - look out for what will need to be changed soon. Lights, tyre condition including the spare wheel, warning lights, and windscreen wipers should all be checked.
2. Does the mileage, age and appearance of the car look consistent? For any sign of tampering, always request an independent history and mileage check. Before you drive away, always check the mileage is as advertised.
6. Test drive the car before you buy, paying attention to how effective the brakes are working. Listen for unusually loud noises, and keep an eye on the dash for any warnings.
3. If you see any signs of inconsistent gaps between panels or mismatched colours, this could be a sign of extensive repairs. Ask about the damage, and where the car was reconditioned. Ideally, the vehicles genuine parts would have been used for any replacements.
7. Checking the locks work can easily be overlooked, but can cost a lot in the long-run. Also make sure the windows, including a sunroof, open and close normally. Huge damage can be caused by moisture entering your vehicle. Visit our Approved Used showroom at Lowestoft Audi
4. Check the car’s MOT status and history online using the vehicle registration and make. If the MOT is due, some reassurance over the failure of the MOT would be the best-case scenario.

Meet the
Team
Audi is an exceptional brand fuelled by a passion to create the ultimate customer experience, which is why we invest in individuals who can help us achieve our ambitious plans. We’re dedicated to leading the premium car market in everything from product management to people development. So, a career with Audi is, quite simply, a mark of excellence. Meet some members of our team.
Roxanne Way Service Team Manager, Norwich Audi
What led you to work in the motor industry? When I left college, my Mum was working as a Parts Delivery Driver for Peugeot. She helped me into a job handing out leaflets for the new Peugeot 107. I then became involved in making service reminder calls. From there, it seemed I just made a natural progression into the position of a Service Advisor. I really enjoy the working environment particularly since I began work for Robinsons Audi in May 2016.
Why do you think your customers choose Audi? Without a doubt, it has to be the Audi Difference. When I joined Audi, I was amazed at how efficient everyone is – from Audi Cam sending film clips to our customers to waiting times for appointments. I love how Audi Cam works by diagnosing work on a car before the Technician starts anything. The system makes it easy and clear for both

the customer and our team, relaying information based on urgent or advisory needs, or just for their information. And with Audi Price Match there’s no reason why everyone can’t experience the Audi Difference, choosing Norwich or Lowestoft Audi for their Servicing.
What part of your job do you find most rewarding? I enjoy making customers happy so receiving feedback is a really important part of the job. I not only find this so rewarding when I receive something positive, but I’m also striving to improve and grow in the job so all feedback helps me to progress.
Which Audi model suits your lifestyle and why? Having worked with models across the range, it is the Audi S3 I chose for myself. Married with no children, the S3 really suits my lifestyle.
The innovative nature of Audi means there’s something new to play around with every month

Robinsons Motor Group
How have you come to your current position at Norwich Audi? I have always had a passion for motor vehicles, with this being my second venture at Norwich Audi following time away pursuing a different career after nine years as a Sales Executive. My love for cars – and more importantly the Audi brand – has pulled me back to the Sales arena. Nearly two years in and I have not looked back.
Is there something you love about selling Audi vehicles? I believe the Audi brand is by far the best in the premium market and with the quality and variety on offer there really is nothing better than making customers’ dreams come true.
What would be your highlight during your time with Audi? Apart from the everyday rewards of the job, having the
opportunity to travel to Germany on a few occasions for Central Launch Training stand out. I have been blown away by Audi’s vision for the future and their attention to detail with the product, staff and most importantly, customers.
What do you see in the future for the brand? The future for the Audi brand is very exciting especially with new fuel technologies on the horizon and self-driving capabilities. I’m excited by the products on the horizon, from the new Audi RS 5 Coupé and the futuristic Q8 which will be with us in the coming years.
What are your interests outside of work? My interests outside of work would firstly be my family, partner and friends along with a passion for music and motorsport. Generally making the most of every day that is presented to me.
What about Audi attracted you to your position?
What’s the biggest change with the brand you have seen?
The opportunity to work for an aspirational and renowned brand so early in my career was hugely exciting. I was equally interested in the ways Audi was attracting the younger, influential drivers as much as the way they dedicated themselves to loyal customers.
In just over a year that I have been working with Audi, the recognition of digital has shaped their marketing and products. The Audi Q2 launch featured a social media hashtag campaign, and the online design and content has been centred around what a customer wants and needs to see. There’s so much more available from Audi to your mobile phone or tablet.
Do you think working for Audi makes your job more exciting? The innovative nature of Audi means there’s something new to play around with every month – from advanced connectivity in your car to all-new model launches – there’s never a dull moment. Also, getting to sit behind the wheel of brand-new sportscars before anyone else definitely brightens a work day.
What model suits your lifestyle and why? I love the whole Q range. At this point in my life an Audi Q2 or Q3 would be perfect for the days I take my nephew out or weekends away, and I would love to upgrade to the bigger SUVs when I have a family of my own.

Celebrating
years Robinsons Motor Group 1927-2017 It was years of building aeroplanes for The Daimler Motor Co. Ltd. in the Midlands which led company founder, Richard Robinson, to Norwich. Following his First World War contribution, Robinson seized the opportunity to turn his wartime motor engineering skills into his own business. Founding Robinson’s as a Coachbuilders and Paint and Repair Specialist in 1927, the business succeeded by meeting changing needs over the years.
Ahead of the times, Robinson’s trademarked the Hire Service ‘Drivurself’ for saloon cars from their Riverside Road, Norwich location. This service survived under the quirky name up until the Millennium. Finding success over tumultuous years, a particular legacy lies in the dedication of Richard Robinson often sleeping above the body shop in wartimes for fear of an incendiary bomb being dropped and nobody being there to put out the flames.
44
Robinsons Audi Magazine
During the Second World War the import of American vehicles boomed, with production of new cars going toward war efforts. These attractive imported cars were built for straight, wide roads and became hazardous on the winding country lanes of Norfolk - regularly ending up at Robinson’s for repair work. With a desperate shortage of new cars, the firm prospered in reconditioning almost anything that would run.
In 1956 the business became a limited company, and seeking new opportunities successfully applied for the Volkswagen franchise thus beginning their long association with Audi Volkswagen. Within a couple of years, a second major redevelopment provided workshop and parts facilities to keep pace with the success of the group’s sales. Volkswagen and Audi models were housed at our purposebuilt (and one of the largest in the country) premises until the brands parted after 40 years together. The first bespoke Audi Centre opened on Hall Road, Norwich, in October 1997. Robinsons Audi was Europe’s first dedicated Audi Centre and led to the brand introducing a number of Audi Centres in the UK operating separately from Volkswagen. The structure of the Centre was extremely modern for the time, featuring a glass and aluminium exterior and relaxed interior for a new era of car buying. A decade later, the current Norwich Audi dealership on Meridian Way was revealed. Great glass panelling, curving along an outdoor water feature set this location apart from all that came before. Reflecting the burning glow from the sunset, and boasting enormous Audi rings impresses from the exterior. Spreading from its first registered addresses in Norwich, Robinsons Motor Group now occupies 28 dealerships across East Anglia, including Bury St Edmunds, Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Peterborough, Ipswich and Lowestoft. The Group proudly offers a range of brands including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, SEAT, Citroën, DS, SKODA, smart, Volkswagen and qualityassured used car brand Auto Devotion. Robinsons Audi remains a part of a rich history of a local familyowned business.

Audi Business and Fleet
Show-stopping at the Royal Norfolk Show 2017 Convoying towards the Central Ring of the Norfolk Showground, we even had the cattle turning heads toward the three Audi Sport models roaring into position. Attending on behalf of Audi Business and Fleet, the Local Business Development Manager and Head of Business, selected three of the most powerful models available. Invited to showcase our offering in the Anglian Farmers Supplier marquee, the Innovation and
Enterprise area was the perfect spot for the two days in June. Outside of the tent, the Audi SQ7 was positioned to attract from the rear with glittering aluminium, dual-branch oval twin tailpipes. Just to please the crowd, we would awaken the 4.0 litre BiTDI quattro V8 engine to show how the SQ7 delivers on the promise of the Audi ‘S’ badge and 435 PS of power. Encroaching on the Avenue walkway, the RS 6 Avant with honeycomb-design grille and angled 19-inch alloy wheels stopped guests in their tracks. At first glance, you’ll see hints of
what the RS 6 Avant has to offer from the enhanced body styling, to the ability to accelerate to the 62 mph mark in a mere 3.9 seconds. Cradled between two intimidating models, the all-new Audi S5 Cabriolet didn’t go unnoticed. With its ‘S’ body styling, 19-inch alloy wheels and subtle S5 badging, the S5 makes a powerful visual statement – the perfect complement to its powerful new 3.0 litre V6 TFSI engine. This impressive display was only half of the story. For the team, the Royal Norfolk Show was the ideal opportunity to show why Audi should be the fleet manufacturer choice for any business. By choosing an Audi as
your company car, you’ll receive a premium package including the information and tools to manage your investment. Head of Business, Mark Willmott commented on the two days, “We strive to offer a tailored ownership experience with every Audi – so being able to take time with new names and faces helped to make a positive first impression. We look forward to welcoming some of the visitors from the Show into our showroom.” Norwich Audi are proud to offer the services of a Local Business Development Manager for the area, with expertise that can make a real contribution to the success of your business.
