A GOOD SIGN FOR CONNOLLY’S Story and Photos By Katie McFadden

Now that’s a good sign. After Connolly’s announced on Friday, April 22, that it was officially sold, the rumor mill started swirling again. But have no fear. The iconic local bar isn’t going the way of the Irish Circle. Connolly’s is here to stay. After all, it’s in local hands, or rather—Locals’ hands. That’s right, the young men of Locals Surf and Locals Collective, the Reinhardts and

the Kololyans, have officially purchased Connolly’s and they have one big promise—to “Keep Connolly’s, Connolly’s.” On Tuesday, April 26, The Rockaway Times spoke with outgoing longtime co-owner Jeff Aquilante, who ran Connolly’s since 1984, (with Kerryann Daly meeting Jeff and stepping in to whip the place into shape a year later), and stumbled upon the new owners, Mike Reinhardt and Mike Kololyan, hoisting up the Connolly’s sign to mark the start of a new era for the beloved bar. Later that day, the Mikes announced the good news to their many friends on social media. Out of respect to the sudden major news of Firefighter Timothy Klein’s tragic passing on Sunday, we’re holding off on details this week, but stay tuned for next week’s issue of The Rockaway Times to learn more of what’s to come for Connolly’s.

Shore Front Adventure Course Now Open Story and Photos by Katie McFadden

Are you an aspiring American Ninja Warrior or parkour enthusiast? Or you just want to get out and play now that the weather is getting nicer? The new adventure course park on Beach 101st

to Beach 102nd Street and Shore Front Parkway is officially open. Ahead of its expected June 2022 completion, the $4.6M adventure course, which started being constructed last June, was open to visitors last week. The park is a young adventure-seeker’s dream with more than 13 obsta-

cle course components, including a large, netted challenge loop on the Beach 101st side. Another big piece, as pickleball becomes more popular, is a pickleball court on the Beach 102nd side. Even the iconic Parks chess tables are back in this new park. As weather warmed up last weekend, the new

park was full of kids putting all of the new components to use. The adventure course is just the latest new addition being built along Shore Front Parkway after Hurricane Sandy took most beachfront parks with it. Work Continued on page 7

What better way to kick off a celebration than with a wedding? Opening on Friday, May 6, the Rockaway Theatre Company cordially invites you to join in the stage nuptials of Wendy Kirschenbaum and Walter Saltzman in the fast and freewheeling farce, “What the Rabbi Saw.” The knockabout comedy will be knocking them down the aisle with performances on Fridays and Saturdays, May 6-7,12-13 and Thursday, May 12 at 8 p.m., and Sundays, May 8 and 15 at 2 p.m. “The whole show plays out in a hotel room at the Waldorf Astoria,” explains director John Panepinto. “It’s about the wedding of a couple and the hijinks that play out leading up to the wedding. The whole family is there.” Starting off before the wedding, he said, “we open on a couple in a bed. Of course, I won’t say who

the couple is, but... It’s very funny.” “What the Rabbi Saw” also starts off the RTC’s new season, the first since 2019, with a bang. Later in the season, “Kiss Me, Kate” and “Honeymoon in Vegas” and the riveting drama, “A Few Good Men” will grace the Fort Tilden stage. “We are beyond delighted to be back,” producer and RTC founding member, Susan Jasper said. “And to bring (almost all) of the season we originally planned. “When we closed our doors due to Covid in March 2020, two weeks before our production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” and our season was set to open,” she said, “we had no idea those doors would remain closed until now.” Originally developed and cast by RTC’s Peggy Page Press and Michael Wotypka, “Rabbi” became one of that season’s five shows that were not to be in 2020. AN ATTEMPT TO KNOCK KING FROM BALLOT Paul King, the Belle Harbor civic leader who is challenging Gregory Meeks for his U.S. Congress seat this November, may lose his spot on both the Republican and Conservative ballots due to a challenge from another candidate, Amit Lal. King, who earned the support of the Queens County and Nassau County Republican leadership, collected the signatures of 2,960 citizens on his Republican petitions. Lal claimed that 70% of those signatures (more than 2,000) are invalid. New York State requires a Republican or Democratic candidate to collect 1,250 signatures on designating petitions. Mr. King submitted more than double the required number. Lal, according to King, only submitted 292 signatures. It is unclear whether Lal believes he can represent the Republican Party if his attempt to knock King off the ballot is successful. In a hearing on Monday, April 25, several signatures were reinstated by the Board of Elections. However, Mr. King’s total is still three signatures short. If the State invalidates his Conservative candidacy, the party will have three days to correct the situation. “When I launched my campaign, people warned me that politics can be dirty,” King said. “I just didn’t expect this level of mud from a socalled Republican. My opponent is trying to disenfranchise more than 2,000 fellow citizens. He’s making it easier for Greg Meeks to be reelected yet again.” King said he has no intention of giving up his candidacy regardless of what happens in the upcoming legal battles. His campaign plans an active slate of fundraisers and rallies in May and June.

Remembering Firefighter Timmy Klein By Katie McFadden

"Firemen are going to get killed. When they join the department, they face that fact. When a man becomes a fireman, his greatest act of bravery has been accomplished. What he does after that is all in the line of work. They were not thinking of getting killed when they went where death lurked. They went there to put the fire out and got killed. Firefighters do not regard themselves as heroes because they do what the businessrequires." These words were among those spoken by Firefighter Timothy Klein as he eulogized his good friend and fellow Ladder 170 firefighter Steven Pollard at his funeral in 2019. They are now among the words being shared this week as the community, the FDNY and numerous shocked and devastated friends and family members mourn the loss of Firefighter Timothy Klein himself. As the call came in on Sunday afternoon, April 24, Firefighter Klein was among more than 100 FDNY members who answered the call for a 3-alarm blaze at a home on Avenue N in Canarsie. Klein, a six-year veteran of the job, knew the job well and according to fellow firefighters, “he did everything so well.” He entered the burning building with a hose team to extinguish the flames. But this brutal fire led to inconceivable circumstances when the home partially collapsed. In the fire, a 21-year-old resident, Carlos Richards, died. Eight other firefighters were injured with burns and smoke inhalation. And Firefighter Klein was rushed to Brookdale Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Timmy Klein was 31. The shocking news immediately rattled the City and New York’s Bravest as a whole. For Rockaway and Breezy Point, Firefighter Klein’s death hit closer to home. Klein grew up in Rockaway, has family in Breezy Point, and he had recently bought a home of his own on Beach 129th Street, not far from the elementary school he attended, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy (Class of ’04), and the church where his funeral Mass will be held

on the morning of Friday, April 29. Though referred to as “the Canarsie kid” by his fellow firefighters of Brooklyn’s Ladder 170, Klein was a local through and through. The SFDS alum and SFDS CYO athlete went on to Archbishop Molloy High School, where his three younger sisters followed, Tara, Bridget and Erin. He continued his course as a student athlete, with basketball as his main game, but he was no stranger to the Rockaway Beach Volleyball League’s sandy courts. They were games he would go on to play with the FDNY at any charitable tournament. Following Molloy, Klein went on to graduate from York College of Pennsylvania in 2012, studying Sport Management and Athletic Administration, something he practiced after graduating before following in his father, Patrick's footsteps and becoming a firefighter. During college summers, he worked some classic local gigs—a cabana boy at the Silver Gull Surf Club in Breezy Point and a seasonal worker at Riis Park for the National Park Service, where he made friends along the way. He even spent some time as a student associate for his favorite hockey team—The New York Rangers. Just last week, Klein was at Madison Square Garden to watch a game. The Rangers won. If one were to ask those who knew Timmy, he won at everything, and his sudden passing is a tremendous loss. Some of his fellow fire-

fighters, Adam Bishop, who Klein also worked for at Bishops Barn, and current Ladder 170 firefighters Brian Quinn and Matt McNair, between going through the motions to prepare for Klein’s funeral, for which they’ll serve as pallbearers, took some time to speak about their dear friend and brother. “He did everything so well,” Bishop said. Bishop called Klein his “righthand man” as he launched his businesses, the Portable Pigman and then Bishops Barn, but he had also worked with Klein at Ladder 170 before his promotion. “He was a phenomenal athlete, fun to be around. The kind of guy who when you made plans, you always wanted him to be there—and he showed up to everything,” Bishop said. “Everything he did, he excelled in—from sports to being a fireman to everyday life,” Quinn said. “And he could never say no to anybody. He was always there to help everyone. He got there early and was always the guy that put in the time and work,” McNair said. Beyond working the firehouse, finding time to help at Bishops Barn, attending Rangers games, spending time with family, hanging out with his many friends at Rockaway and Breezy’s bars, supporting his friend’s endeavors like Stephanie Wagner’s Country Swag and frequently showing up to country concerts, Klein found time to give to others. When a fellow Ladder 170 firefighter, John Vaeth launched

The Fight for Firefighters Foundation, a non-profit that builds wheelchair ramps for those in need, Klein was right on board. He joined the non-profit’s board and more importantly, he showed up. “He was an integral part of that and showed up to every ramp build,” Bishop said. “He always showed up.” Klein was also on his way to moving up in the FDNY. “He eventually would have been promoted in the FDNY,” Bishop said. “He was studying to become a lieutenant. He would’ve taken the test later this year. There’s no doubt in my mind he would’ve been promoted. He would’ve run the show.” Though younger than himself, Bishop says Klein was someone to look up to. “What really hurts so much is I have five kids, and he watched them grow up, and I always say to my wife, ‘If we could raise a kid like Timmy, we’d be doing something right.' He’s the type of man you want your kids to grow up to be." There’s no doubt, the pain of Klein’s loss will be felt for many years. “It’s just unbelievable,” Quinn said. “The firehouse is never going to be the same. He was everything to Canarsie.” Klein’s impact will be noticed even further at upcoming services. A wake will be held at John J. McManus & Sons Funeral Home (4601 Avenue N) in Brooklyn, with viewings from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis de Sales in Rockaway (129-16 Rockaway Beach Boulevard). With roughly 20,000 people expected to attend, overflow crowds are to be expected. FF. Timothy Klein is survived by his loving parents, Diane and Patrick Klein, his sisters: Erin Klein, Bridget Klein, Tara Kirby and brother in-law, Sean Kirby, and his girlfriend, Courtney Gallagher. Tributes to Timmy Klein Dear Editor: I was at work on Sunday afternoon when I suddenly started to receive messages from my FDNY friends. They were saying that there was a bad fire in Canarsie, and that Tim Klein was in pretty bad shape. Unfortunately, the news only became worse. Tim and I really got to know each other while working together for the National Parks Service at Riis Park. Tim was two years older than me and before our years at Riis Park, Tim and I had known each other just how everyone seems to know each other in Rockaway— friends of friends, family friends. But through our time working together, I was lucky enough to become friends with Tim. I saw his kindness, generosity, and selflessness firsthand. We would report to work each day at 6 a.m. (oftentimes after being out at the Circle or Connolly's until the wee hours of the morning...) but regardless of what shape we were in, Tim would always greet me with a "how you

doing?" and a beaming smile. We knew that if we could just get each other through the first hour or so of work, we could get a much-needed bagel from Deirdre Maeve's! As we grew up and moved on from our time at Riis Park, we continued to play basketball and volleyball together. Tim was someone that I loved running into around the neighborhood. I know that it's a bit of a cliche to extol the recently departed, and heap all sorts of praise upon them, but Tim really was a "good guy." A great guy. Tim was someone that we should all aspire to emulate. He would rush to help anyone without a moment's hesitation. While I can't believe that Tim is gone, I am so grateful to have called him a friend. Gull together in high school. I was a lifeguard and Timmy was a cabana boy, perhaps one of the most grueling jobs a young kid could have as they would slave away to the patrons at the beach club. I would sit on the lifeguard chair and watch Timmy carry beach chairs back and forth, take groceries to cabanas and on occasion, watch him do a food run to the cafeteria. Timmy never stopped moving at the Silver Gull…and all with a smile on his face. We didn’t hang out in the same social circle (beach circle) but there was never a time where if Timmy saw me at a bar or on the beach, that he wouldn’t come over to give me a hello and ask how everything was going. I think that Brian Collier and Ryan Hurley are two of the funniest guys and over the years I have admired the friendship that Timmy and his friends have. ALWAYS laughing! lard was strong and beautiful. Much like his love for Steven and the FDNY. Over the years I’ve seen through social media all that Timmy has done in keeping the memory of Steven Pollard alive. I don’t know another selfless 30-year-old guy who would dedicate as much time as Timmy has to honoring someone’s life. The last time I hung out with Timmy was at Jameson’s in January, hadn't seen him in years. I had two Graybeards Pot of Gold tickets left to sell. He practically ripped them out of my hand to buy one of my last ones. We shared shots and a lot of laughs that night. I only wish that he could have won that raﬄe. I sincerely mean that Timmy Klein has demonstrated what it is to be a gentleman. I pray for his family, his friends and the firemen in his firehouse who are too young to be burying another brother and friend. Tori Dresch

Red Ribbons for Timmy

Since the news of Firefighter Timothy Klein’s passing, Rockaway to Broad Channel to Breezy Point has stepped up to show their support for Klein’s family and the FDNY. A sea of red ribbons have appeared around light poles and trees across the peninsula since Sunday. Part of that effort was spearheaded by Councilwoman Joann Ariola, who provided free red ribbons, at her office on Monday. Within 20

minutes, the ribbons were all accounted for. Follow “Joann Ariola NYC Council District 32" on Facebook for ribbon updates or call her office at 718-318-6411. On Wednesday, St. Francis de Sales Catholic Academy sent their students home with red ribbons to hang up in front of their homes, which were donated by Ariola’s office. The school will be closed on Friday due to the funeral. In Broad Channel, a neighbor donated red ribbons and volunteers strung them along trees on Cross Bay Blvd. On Friday, April 29, after Firefighter Timothy Klein’s funeral, the community will line Cross Bay Blvd. at 12:20 p.m. with flags in hand to salute the procession as it continues to the cemetery in Farmingdale. Elizabeth Hanna has also spearheaded an effort to sell lawn signs paying tribute to Klein and the FDNY, for which the proceeds will go to an organization of the Klein family’s choosing. Resistance in our lives takes many forms and comes up more frequently than I would like. All I can say is that it is in resistance that we remain stuck in the middle between what is what and what it will come to be. I’d like to share a recent experience and how I came to opening the floodgate of resistance. It is nothing extraordinary or life-changing - most of our days aren’t - just an awareness I lifted my heart to, that honored the way I felt and what my state of being was during a particular few days. I had been super-charged for about eight weeks developing something new plus getting deeper into things I love like yoga, music. Super-charged, really. Not enough hours in the day. Always felt great. Was inspired, creating into the evening. This past week my energy dialed down. And I was confused, trying different things to boost my energy like certain breath practices in yoga and yoga pose series designed to do just that. Nothing was changing. I was saying I felt low energy which came with a sad heaviness. It certainly was a reminder of how I had felt in my past. And I was trying to figure out why and putting up all sorts of invisible distractions. By that I mean focusing on everything but the inner core thing. The day I woke up to the visualization of letting the floodgate open for resistance to flow out is the day I lifted my heart to the awareness of what was exactly going on in my body, mind and heart. First, saying “low energy” or anything like that - as I always speak and most times

practice - will bring that exact thing to your consciousness becoming almost like an intention. So that’s the first thing I caught: re-language what you’re feeling so it is not a negative. I did that. Then I sat with myself in meditation, visualized the floodgate open and let things rise. And the simple truth I came to is that my body needed to rest, my mind needed to take a break and my heart needed some self-nurturing. So I had a day of no appointments, no lists - not even the ones that are in the yoga or music realms which I most enjoy - just being in the day. I honored my state of being on that particular day and, more importantly, allowed it to be. It was so relieving. So I wanted to share this and offer the thought to being present and accepting of a change in our inner selves - the way we feel through our senses and in the body, the way we feel emotionally, the quality of our thoughts. And letting it ride out in a loving and accepting way without constraint and resistance. May you be happy. May you be free. May you be compassionate. May you be grateful. May you let go of things that do not serve you. May you have inner peace.

Young Voices Memorial Indeed Dear Editor: Richard Berger is so right about Memorial Circle. Seventy-five years ago this May, the Belle Harbor Garden Club established Memorial Circle to honor those local men who were killed in WWII. They obtained a local law to name the area “Memorial Circle,” and it is by that name that locals identify the area. On a whim, Parks Commissioner Henry Stern decided to rename the area “Veterans Circle” and replaced all the signs at the Circle

with that name. On a number of occasions, the Friends of Memorial Circle have tried to get the signage changed. As Mr. Berger points out, a veteran is someone who has served in the military. A memorial commemorates those serving their country and died during wartime. We have been in touch with Parks Commissioners

A Veteran’s Way

On Saturday April 23, a crowd gathered in front of the Golden Gate Fancy Fruits and Vegetables store on Flatbush Avenue to honor its longtime owner, and World War II Veteran, the late john Cortese, with a street naming. John A Cortese was a legend in Brooklyn, known to many Brooklyn-Rockaway transplants, as he operated the local produce store, first opened by his parents in 1939, for many years. While he lived in Flatlands, some of his family resides in Breezy Point. In 1942 after his 18th birthday and graduation from High School, Uncle Sam recruited him for the U.S. Army. He spent time at Fort Bragg and then sailed overseas to fight in World War II. As a corporal in the 551st Field Artillery Battalion, John fought in the invasion of Normandy landing on Omaha Beach, The Battle of The Bulge and many other battles in France, Germany, Belgium and Holland. Part of his duties was that of being a sapper, one who identifies land mines. He was given only two hours

of training a month before D-Day. He trained not in a classroom but on live minefields. He also played the bugle as he was a saxophonist. Cortese went on to live a long life, marrying the late Anne, had three children; Janine, Louise Anne and John, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Cortese died peacefully in his home on April 19, 2020. In tribute, Rockaway’s Army veteran Brian Galarza was on hand to play the bugle at the Brooklyn street naming ceremony of “John A Cortese Way” on Saturday.

The Pointers! Oui!!

With the mermaid out of town, I decided to take the new puppy for an early evening walk and then head out to Bar Marseille for a quick dinner and to hear The Pointers, the all-female band from Breezy Point. I became friends with one of the ladies through the Connolly’s open mic series a few years ago, and I always liked her song choices and the way she played her Gibson Songwriter guitar. I also was familiar with the keyboard player, as she sings with the terrific guitar slinger and singer Kerry Kearney. But I didn’t really know the third player in the band, except that I saw her warming up before some other gig years ago and was

impressed with the way she was able to play a lead on an acoustic guitar. I had heard good things about this band but had never caught them live, and so this was my chance. But before I get to the music, let me say a word about Bar Marseille. First off, by the title, you may have gotten that it is French. My powers of detection are at their peak these days! I had only been there once before, and while I enjoyed the meal, I found it to be a bit pricey. This time, I indulged in the sea bass almondine, one of my favorite dishes, preceded by deviled eggs, and accompanied by a buttery Chardonnay. As Stanley Tucci would say, oh my God! It was to die for, and it just melted in my mouth. While still Manhattan prices, what you get is gourmet cooking and worth every penny. Of course, I was seated right in front of the band and my hopes of going unnoticed were dashed. But I did have a great vantage point to check the band out and how they

set up everything. First off, even though it’s just a three-piece band, the set-up is key. Their instruments included an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar and keyboard. Most bands in Rockaway don’t have keyboards, and it adds such a dimension to the music. Second, they mic’d their instruments, and had them come through the PA system, which means that the sound man had control of the overall volume. Yes, they had a sound man, and his role was not limited to just the voices and instruments, he also controlled some prerecorded bass and drums that were sync’d in occasionally. Before they played a single note, I was already impressed with the thought that went into the set up. And then they started playing. Again, most bands in Rockaway are guy bands, and there are a few who have good singers. A female voice is just different, and in a better way. Three female singers

who also know how to sing harmony correctly is unbelievable for a Rockaway band and let me tell you this group has put in the work to make harmonies sound great. If you are thinking at this point that they are just great at singing harmonies, I would be remiss if I didn’t extoll their musicianship, because each band member was terrific at playing music too. Now combine all that with great song choices and you have hit the trifecta. There are other bands that can sing harmonies and play well, but the song choices leave much to be desired. Not this group, they are able to pick songs that truly resonate with the listener. The Pointers have been playing around town both here in Rockaway and in Breezy. If you get a chance to catch them, I would highly recommend giving them a listen, you will not regret it. If you ask me about Bar Marseille and the Pointers, I have only one word for both: Oui!!

Decompression sickness (DS), commonly referred to as “the bends,” is caused by dissolved gas (usually nitrogen) in living tissue that is released to form bubbles as a result of decreased environmental pressure. DS may occur in diving, aviation, and spaceflight. A simple example of the bubble formation seen in DS can be seen in bottled carbonated beverages. In order to keep the carbon dioxide in solution, the beverage container is pressurized. Looking at the unopened liquid in the bottle no bubbles are visible, however when the pressure is suddenly reduced by opening the bottle, the gas contained in the liquid releases and forms bubbles. The compressor technology required for diving was developed in the 1800s but was initially applied to coal shafts below the

water table in the Loire Valley in France. The shafts were pressurized to prevent flooding by using pneumatic pumps developed by Jacques Triger. DS was reported during that project and examiners observed joint pain, paralysis, coma, and death in workers emerging from the pressurized shafts. They also observed that the pain and symptoms resolved when the worker reentered the pressurized area. Here in the U.S., compressed-air technology was first used for pressurized dry spaces (caissons) during the construction of the Eads Bridge in St. Louis. The on-site physician, Alphonse Jaminet, observed DS in workers emerging from the caissons. He prescribed various remedies but failed to recognize that the symptoms were caused by changes in air pressure. He actually went so far as to subject himself to pressurization and subsequent DS. His remedy was

beef tea and rum. Similar projects, including the Brooklyn Bridge, experienced DS in workers (sandhogs) but it was not until 1889 when Ernest Moir took over New York’s Hudson River Tunnel project that a recompression chamber was built and used on injured men. This reduced the workers death rate from 25% per year to two deaths among 120 men in 15 months. During WW II, DS was observed in flight crews when aircraft, which were not pressurized, rapidly ascended to over 18,000 feet. These symptoms were reduced by having flight crews prebreathe 100% oxygen, a technique now routine for high-altitude aircraft crews. In 60 years of spaceflight, only one case of DS (knee pain) was ever reported, and that was in Michael Collins in 1966 during the Gemini 10 flight. Atmospheric pressure, like seawater pressure, is caused by

the weight of the column of air or water above a person. At sea level, the atmospheric pressure is one atmosphere which is 29.9 mm of mercury or 14.6 psi. At an altitude of about 18,000 feet the pressure is 0.5 atmospheres, or atm. Because water is much heavier the air, sea pressure is two atm., or twice sea level pressure, at 33 feet of depth and rises by 1 atm. for every 33 feet deeper one goes. This is why the depth limit for recreational scuba divers is 130 feet. A diver who spends more than three or four minutes at 130 ft. will need to make decompression stops on the way up. Professional and saturation divers use air mixes that eliminate nitrogen, often using helium instead. Because of the safety protocols developed over the years, DS is now rare in divers and sandhogs. Daddy Dearest Dear Enchantress, I am a single Dad. I've been watching the work you've been doing with men, especially the "nice guy" and I am one. I am a nice guy, and I'm overly nice. I cannot say "no" to my 3-year-old daughter. I have tried, but it's like she knows how to push my buttons and always get her way. I go on a date once in a while, and I see how this nice guy way is horrible for me in all situations. I have my own business and I have delegated many tasks that I cannot do because I will over-give. In my personal relationships, this is turning into a disaster. Can you give me some steps or advice that I can use for my daughter, so I don't raise a monster? Dear Daddy Don't, Oy. And I'm glad you see that you are contributing to your little girl becoming a monster. Let me give you some very direct impact possibilities. You can raise a spoiled child, who will have tantrums and throw a fit anytime to anyone, specifically when boys tell her no. The other disaster is that she will not know what to do when a boy tells her what to do because she has no experience with the "no," so she can become a pushover herself and give in to whatever is asked of her. Both are terrible. Here are a couple of ways to start, and they have nothing to do with her, it's more about creating ways to get the word "no" out of your mouth. I bet when you want to tell her "no," you use a million words to explain. So stop that. If you need help to get the two little letters out, start with; "it's hard for me to say no to you, but no." Then

say no more. You can repeat that exact sentence, get in eye contact with her, and repeat, get present, be present with this delivery. Know that she will cry, she will do what she usually does, this is where the lesson is. It's not in the initial sentence, it's the staying on track when she acts out. It's for her safety and for her future. Another practice for you is to be in the world, and take up space, take up physical space. Most "nice guys" are over-aplogizers, energetically or they say it all the time. I'm not saying be rude and take up four subway seats. I am saying go out to eat and take a table for four instead of for two, sit on your own couch and see how "big" you can be. Let your body know it's safe and ok to be you, and to take up space in this world without apology. Take the four-person table on a date as well. This past weekend on Saturday, April 23, I had the pleasure of working for a great promotion called 1CW PRO Wrestling based in Delaware. The show was called "Body Slamming Autism," an event to help raise awareness for Autism and provide financial assistance for a local family affected by Autism. The show, held in the Houston Fire Department, in Houston, Delaware, drew over 350 fans, and Promoter/Owner Shawn Hardy was overwhelmed with the generously of the fans in attendance. Shawn has been running shows since 2010 and each event he holds, he donates to various charities, as he loves to help people in need. Their next event will be on May 21, 2022, and this show will be held to help raise awareness for

mental health. As per the Drew Garbo Live Show, which Becky Lynch appeared on, she stated that the WWE's Women's Roster was levels above the AEW Women's Roster and went on to say that AEW is just an alternative to the WWE product, rather than being direct competition for the WWE. What are your thoughts about this, and do you consider AEW to be direct competition to the WWE? Former WWE producer Pat Buck has officially announced that he has joined All Elite Wrestling.
