Spring/Summer Collection 2018
welcome…
WELCOME | Inspire
to the eighth edition of our popular ‘Inspire’ magazine. Spring usually heralds the start of the peak property buying & selling season and this certainly looks set to continue in 2018. Property enquiries from prospective buyers are already on the rise in our offices.
This spring we’ve extended our marketing so that each of our properties reaches the maximum number of buyers. You’ll find our homes in all the main property portals of Rightmove, Zoopla, PrimeLocation and On The Market, as well as extensive advertising in local newspapers and magazines, exhibitions at The Boat Show and The London & Country Show, and right here in ‘Inspire’ magazine.
Buyer demand has so far been spread across most price ranges with a noticeable increase in sales activity for wellpriced homes in good locations on the market between £300,000 and £800,000.
Accurately priced homes will catch the eye of those waiting buyers planning to move by summer so reliable and honest marketing advice is essential. Our sales and lettings teams have built up years of experience in their local areas which, coupled with yearround training, provides sellers and landlords with sound advice reflecting local market conditions.
I’m very proud of the professional, friendly and helpful approach of our staff which has enabled so many people move home with as little stress as possible, and to have this independently recognised as ‘exceptional’ by the ‘Best Estate Agent Guide 2018’.
And I hope you’ll be inspired by some of the wonderful homes in this magazine. We’d love to hear from you whether you are buying, selling, renting or letting. Let us help get you moving this spring. Philip Jordan FNAEA MARLA Chief Executive Henry Adams

Anyone for Tennis?
The Wimbledon Grand Slam tournament takes place at the SW1 grounds from Monday 2 July to Sunday 15 July and promises to thrill in 2018 with Federer and Nadal back at the top of their games and hopefully seeing the return of Murray and Djokovic back to their pre 2017 form!

Pimms O’Clock?
The Royal Henley Regatta returns to the Thames for its 179th year! The teams from Oxford and Cambridge Universities row a course of approximately 1 mile and 550 yards from Temple Island upstream towards Henley Bridge. Probably one of the oldest boat races in the world – it is an occasion for much frivolity and partying and takes place between Thursday 5 July and Sunday 8 July 2018.
The Sport of Kings
Polo at both Guards and Cowdray Park have their main events as follows: Guards Club – Cartier Queens Cup 17 June 2018, The Royal Windsor Cup 24 June 2018, Hilden Archie David Cup 1st July 2018 and the Guard’s Ladies Charity event on 1 September 2018. Cowdray Park Club with its long and illustrious history recognised as the home of British Polo for over 100 years hosts the Gold Cup Polo event on Sunday 22 July 2018.

Ahoy Shipmate!
Cowes week has been part of the British summer season since 1812 when it originated. Some 14 years later with the support of the Royal Yacht Squadron the event became ‘Royal’ Cowes week and with some 40 daily sailing races, up to 1000 boats and 8,000 competitors it is one of the largest of its kind in the world. It is held on the Solent off the Isle of Wight from Friday 3 August – Friday 10 August 2018.
For a Blast of Speed
The British Grand Prix is held every year as one of the main events of the world Formula 1 Championship calendar events at Silverstone Circuit. Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire has hosted the Grand Prix since 1987 and has a reputation for being ‘insanely fast’. The dates for 2018 are 6-8 July. And for something more sedate what about the Goodwood Revival event held over 3 days each September at Goodwood Circuit since 1998. It is an opportunity for heritage racing cars to showcase the type of cars that would have competed on the Circuit during its hay-day period between 1948-1966. It will be held from Friday 7 – Sunday 9 September 2018.
In an English Country Garden
The RHS Chelsea Flower Show takes place 22-26 May 2018 in the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea for a period of 5 days. It is a world renowned show for garden designers, plant specialists, florists and nurseries to come together and present their show stopping displays and award winning gardens to the public. A visit from HM The Queen and other royals is obligatory along with more than a scattering of celebrities. An event that is held in one of the trendiest quarters of London is a must on an English Summers day!
Game Fair
The Game Fair returns to Ragley Hall, Warwickshire to celebrate its Diamond Anniversary, 27-29 July 2018. This festival of the great British countryside, boasts the most comprehensive array of fieldsports in the UK. Including archery, air gunning, falconry, fishing, ferrets, gun dogs, horses & hounds and Europe’s longest clay shooting line.
Glyndebourne
Founded in 1934 by John Christie and his opera singer wife, Audrey Mildmay, Glyndebourne is committed to presenting opera of the highest quality, commissioning new work, developing new talent and reaching new audiences. From rare gems to Glyndebourne classics, Festival 2018 promises to be a vocal and visual feast – the very best in world-class opera, running from 19 May26 August.

ust like a refined city hotel, Lime Wood offers the highest standard of luxury. Yet, it’s luxury with a difference. The hotel has kept its traditional structure but lovingly renovated it. Hidden within the shelter of the vast surrounding trees and stunning nature, Lime Wood mixes the spirit of its past whilst adding the odd contemporary twist to bring it to life and arouse within us a certain kind of magic. Five exciting years in the making resulted in a rich collaboration of creative talent and expertise. Architecture designed by Charles Morris and Ben Pentreath, and interiors by David Collins. Ben Pentreath of Working Group Design restored the main house and its extensions, comprising 16 bedrooms, either cosy or spacious with free standing baths and beautiful views overlooking the grounds and forest. Meanwhile Charles Morris designed the additional buildings which include a further 11 suites and two guest rooms, all bringing with them a pervading sense of tranquility.
Martin Brudnizki designed the Courtyard bar and the restaurant Hartnett Holder & Co, blending opulent chandeliers with old leather sofas. The impressive oak and green marble bar adds to the timeless elegance of the hotel. Like the bar and restaurant, the interior style is both luxurious and relaxed – an elusive and enticing balance. So that Lime Wood’s original charm wasn’t lost, the furniture is an eclectic mix of antique and bespoke pieces with hand-picked artwork and objects d’art. Because this is an old English country house, there’s the odd eccentric touch so that there’s always something to be amused by. Now all you have to do is kick back, relax and soak up the atmosphere to your heart’s delight.
Renowned for its exceptional food, Lime Wood’s Hartnett Holder & Co restaurant opened in 2013. Angela Hartnett and Lime Wood’s Luke Holder have together created this culinary treasure and along with their team, create locally sourced Italian dishes. Exceptional food, immaculate service and superb facilities ensures Lime Wood is the only 5-star luxury hotel in the New Forest National Park. The hotel really is the ultimate countryside getaway; perfect for weekend breaks, to escape the city, or to immerse yourself in the enchanted surroundings and fresh countryside air.

Lime Wood has its own luxurious spa called the Herb House; a three storey destination spa dedicated to natural wellbeing that has, without question, significantly raised the bar for destination spas. Inspired by its forest surroundings, the Herb House naturally invites a sense of calm and serenity bringing clients the ultimate rejuvenating retreat. The spa has ten spacious treatment rooms including two double signature rooms – the Bath House with an indoor double bath and private steam room, and the Bath Garden with an outdoor double bath and private steam room. The treat in store continues with hot pools, thermal rooms including the Forest Sauna, the Hands and Feet Room for manicures and pedicures, and private soak baths in changing rooms that feel like decadent bedroom suites fit for royalty.
The Herb House goes on...there’s a state-of-the-art roof top gym with forest views and the very latest in Technogym equipment. Beyond the gym is the Herbary which is a beautiful roof garden that truly consolidates the forest experience. Filled with fragrant herbs, including a mintarium, these herbs and their fragrances will be incorporated into as many of the spa treatments as possible. With such a peaceful and at-one backdrop, the Herbary provides the dream setting for meditation and reflection. Attached to the Herb House Spa and set within a walled garden with magical woodland views is Lime Wood’s hidden gem - Raw & Cured café. Run by health food guru Sheila Hulme, the team at Raw & Cured offer delicious, natural and healthy food. Pure goodness for the body and mind, the menu includes Nori Rolls - delicately filled seaweed sheets with a parsnip and pine nut ‘’rice’’, avocado, carrot and mixed leaf, served with a soy dipping sauce. There is also the option of fresh juices and smoothies, or a glass of wine or fizz to remind you that it’s ok to indulge!

Spring into Summer The captivating floral theme for the Farrow and Ball new wallpaper collection
Taking its name from the Greek goddess of fruit and flowers, Hegemone (featured) is wonderfully optimistic and looks almost as if it has been cut from paper. Less rigid and defined than a classic floral pattern, each colourful petal blooms freely in all directions. Henry Adams | Inspire
53
British craftsmen in paint and paper Farrow & Ball, has unveiled its latest collection of new wallpapers. Taking inspiration from the current trends of texture, maximalism and returning to nature, the experts in colour have introduced three contemporary floral wallpapers that are richly textured and uplifting twists on traditional patterns.
For its new collection, Farrow & Ball has experimented with a range of scales exploring the expressive trend of maximalism, creating its largest motif design yet, Helleborus. First drawn with a pipette for a sense of unrestrained fluidity, each petal feels as though it is unfurling on the wall. Latin for the hellebore flower, the organic pattern creates a sense of growth and rejuvenation, transforming the home into a warm and wonderful retreat.
Handcrafted using Farrow & Ball paint and traditional block printing methods, the new collection creates a seamless connection between paint and paper. Each design is available in seven colourways from soft neutrals and muted pastels, to striking colour combinations with metallic accents. Colourways range from bold Stiffkey Blue and Vardo, to earthy tones Cromarty and Mahogany, as well as neutrals Ammonite and Purbeck Stone.
The new wallpapers are now available to purchase from showrooms, stockists and www.farrow-ball.com
