congrats to our cover couple!
Being born and raised in Colorado, I found my love for the Rockies in a state that holds so many beautiful places. Through the years, I’ve been lucky enough to travel to many of the other states across the Rockies and have found a certain charm to all of them. Something about the fresh air blowing through the evergreens, or the sand blowing across the Southwest deserts, and the aqua blue lakes in the north, I couldn’t think of a better place to say “I do!” than the Rockies. As I begin to plan my own Rocky Mountain wedding using RMB, I find myself in awe of the talented local vendors in each pocket of the Rocky Mountain region. I hope that within these pages you will find all the inspiration and tips you need to make your day everything you want it to be. We’ve scouted the best of the best in your area to provide you trusted local vendors. Happy planning!

MCCALL 101 Advice for a perfect McCall trip featuring the weather and favorite spots of the area. Planning ahead can make all of the difference for your guests and you.
kylie morgan photography
S E A S O N A L W E AT H E R With Payette Lake in the heart of downtown and close proximity to snow dusted mountains, McCall shines as an ideal wedding location. From June to August, the weather is warm and sunny, making it the most popular time of the year to tie the knot. If you are looking for that summer wedding vibe and plenty of rays, July might be your best bet with average temps around the high 80s. On the other hand, if you are wanting a cozy and cool ambiance to your day, look to December and January when the area is often blanketed with snow. For a more moody day, check out November. While there is a chance of rain, storm clouds instantly add a dramatic feel, and they say rain on your wedding day is good luck, right?

W H AT T O P A C K Guiding guests on what to pack for your wedding can take a lot of the guesswork out of their decision. Feel free to add your wedding attire, whether it be cocktail casual or black-tie optional, to your wedding website. Here is also a great place to add little tidbits too, such as packing a shawl for the cooler months or sunglasses if you are having an outdoor summer ceremony.
ACTIVITIES May through September when the weather is warm, hop aboard The IDAHO with McCall Lake Cruises for a public or private 90-minute tour of the beautiful and pristine Payette Lake. The two-tiered boat can fit 85 passengers and comes equipped with a snack and full-service beverage bar. Cruise along the smooth water as you hear about local history and various points of interest in McCall. About an hour northeast of McCall in the Payette National Forest, Burgdorf Hot Springs is a remote natural hot spring infused with lithium. It has been shown that small amounts of lithium can make you feel calmer and happier! Surrounded by breathtaking views and wildlife, soak into the 100 degree pool or melt your stress away in one of the two 113 degree small pools. On the east side of Payette Lake sits Ponderosa State Park on a 1,515-acre peninsula. The park is open yearround for you to enjoy a variety of activities from hiking to playing horseshoe and swimming to snowshoeing. Rent a canoe and take in the stunning scenery from the water as you paddle along the North Fork of the Payette River, or Nodic ski along the park’s groomed trails.

Make it official In the state of Idaho, you can get your marriage license at any county clerk’s office. Your partner and you must both be in attendance with proper identification. You will be asked multiple questions while you are there such as when and where are you getting married as Idaho marriage licenses apply only to ceremonies performed in Idaho, and it will cost $30. The state of Idaho does not require you to be a resident, have a blood test or witnesses. You have to return your license within a year of signing the license.

Lindsay + Shane mccall airport
Lindsay and Shane met while playing in a Thursday night drinking kickball league. Celebrating their team’s win at a bar after a game, Shane worked up the courage to talk to Lindsay. Five dates later, the pair knew this was the real deal! A year and a half after that, Lindsay and Shane were vacationing in Costa Rica near Arenal Volcano. On the first night of their trip, they took a walk around the jungle into a botanical garden to admire the volcano. Right there, Shane professed his love to Lindsay, reminisced about all their amazing times together, and got down on one knee and proposed! Lindsay and Shane planned an adventurous mountain wedding for July 14th.

MCCALL MAGIC
“McCall is a special place in our hearts and always has been. Between skiing on the slopes in the winter and water skiing in the summer on the lake, we have spent a lot of time there. The mountains are who we are. A month before our year anniversary, we bought our slice of heaven, a cabin in McCall to make many more memories.”

Bailey + Mike shore lodge
Bailey and Mike met while attending the same college and became close friends throughout their time at college. It wasn’t until after graduation and moving hundreds of miles apart from each other that the pair realized there was more to their friendship and started dating long distance. After three years of dating and a few cross-country moves, Bailey and Mike had just settled into their new home of Seattle. On Mike’s birthday, the pair set off to celebrate with their family and friends, but Mike sneakily rerouted the couple’s Uber to a local park overlooking the Seattle skyline. As Mike and Bailey entered the clearing, Bailey saw umbrellas painted with “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” and right there Mike proposed! Bailey and Mike planned a classic lakeside wedding for August 17th.

Q & A with
McCall Weddings By: Erin Mitschele
What is your favorite part of the job? Oh, by far, dancing at wedding receptions! I just can’t help myself sometimes. Guests are usually very recptive to it and get a hoot out of it! In fact, sometimes they’ve pulled me onto the dance floor to join them! I love see seeing so many people in high spirits in celebration of the union of two wonderful humans! It is a lovely atmosphere to be in.
Do you have a favorite tool of the trade? Yes, my mindset. I’ve seen that my mindset can literally make or break what I experience on the clock, in the office, and on events. I make the choice to stay in faith that “No matter what happens, it really is all good and in perfect order.” I can always think of something to be grateful for, even in moments of distress. This is my ally and never fails.
What is one thing you wish you could educate your clients on? The benefit of practicing mindfulness in the process of planning their event. It seems as though that we are living in a time of elevated stress and instant gratification. Practicing mental-techniques that bring us back to “the now” will help lessen our stress and will enhance our capacity to live from faith instead of fear. I think overall, as a result of clients practicing mindfulness, the whole process of planning and the interpersonal relationships with those involved in the planning, would actually improve quite effortlessly and everything will seemingly flow together in perfect order. Approaching an event with a calm attitude with faith, will indeed create the most spectacular event you’ve ever imagined!
What is your dream creation? My dream creation...I honestly don’t know what it would be yet but this is what I do know: I want it to help people feel better and at peace with themselves, I want to love it and other people to love it too, and I want it to be inspiring and bring joy to others.
What is your best hidden tallent? My best hidden tallent is that I can calm people down, and put them to sleep with my music. All it takes is my voice and my guitar!
