SERI + OTHA SANDIA

Seri and Otha met the old fashioned way, on the internet. Their first date, a simple picnic in Griffith Park, left a lasting impression on them both. Fast forward through two years of dating, during a casual trip to a cherished spot Seri had introduced Otha to early on, the unexpected happened; Otha dropped to one knee and proposed. Seri, not prepared for such a momentous occasion, in sweatpants with coffee in hand, enthusiastically said “Yes!” To celebrate their engagement, their photographer, Katherine Rose Co., captured their love with the Sandia Mountains in the background.

RACHEL + MAXIMILIAN

Rachel and Maximilian serendipitously crossed paths at a wedding, where they were paired to walk down the aisle together, marking the beginning of their love story. Three years into their relationship, on a trip to Scottsdale, Arizona, Maximilian popped the question on a stroll through The Japanese Friendship Garden of Phoenix. There, within the tranquil setting, Rachel said, “Yes!” and the two celebrated their engagement with Leah Tise capturing their love at the White Sands National Park and in the historic town of Mesilla.

ESPERANZA + ANDRES

Esperanza and Andres were set up by family. At the urging of Andres’ sister and Esperanza’s grandmother, the two connected over Instagram. Esperanza made the first move by sliding into Andres’ DMs. After chatting via text messages for a while, the two met up for the first time out on the town one evening which ended in Andres teaching Esperanza how to dance the Bachata.

It was only fitting that their first date was filled with Flamenco. They have been dancing together ever since.

After four years of dating, and the birth of their babies, Andres proposed on a camping trip to Elk Point Lodge in Bayfield, Colorado. “He brought me down by the campfire which is in front of the lake, at sunset, surrounded with love from our daughter and son and the rest of our family, played one of my favorite songs “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar and proposed. We spent that night with drinks in hand, singing and dancing under the stars by the campfire with our loved ones and I’ll cherish that evening forever,” reminisces Esperanza.

MAX + ZACHARY

Max and Zachary met in passing and ended up as friends on Snapchat. However, more was in the cards for the duo and on the Fourth of July, Max found his in. “Zach uploaded a post about how his favorite holiday had not turned out in the way he was expecting. I of course then reached out and made my move. Ever since, Fourth of July went from being his favorite holiday to being OUR favorite holiday,” Max recounts. Seven years later, after a romantic dinner, the two ventured to Old Town Plaza to look at the Christmas lights and indulge in a few sweets. But, Max had a bigger plan for the evening! It was there, in the center of Plaza Vieja, under the Gazebo, with “I Guess I’m in Love” by Clinton Kane playing in the background and surrounded by family and friends that Max popped the question. To celebrate their upcoming wedding, their photographer, Fabian M. Esquivel, gifted them a special photoshoot at the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque to document their love for the movie, Up

whimsical wedding day in the southwest

Situated in the historic town of Santa Fe lies La Posada, a charming resort resting on six serene Southwestern acres. This historic property, with its quaint and inviting ambiance, provided the perfect backdrop for a bold and bright springtime styled shoot curated by Just Lovely Wedding & Event Planning. Vibrant hues of lavender, blush, orange and mustard adorned the lush garden and patio, offering inspiration to future newlyweds.

Prickly Pear Stationery & Gifts designed a trendy, yet classic invitation suite that foreshadowed the atmosphere of wedding celebration to come. By combining a typography heavy design with textured paper and bold color choices, the final product was a stylish blend of elegance and whimsy.

The bride wore a stunning satin wedding gown from The Bridal Collection featuring an overstated bow in the back complementing the playful aesthetic. She met her groom at a contemporarydesigned altar featuring two pink pillars topped with large, wild floral arrangements which could easily be repurposed as end caps for the dining table.

To take advantage of the Santa Fe sunshine, the cocktail lounge and al fresco dinner reception was set up in the garden. The pueblo-styled buildings served as the perfect muted backdrop for the colorful floral arrangements made up of anemones, tulips, poppies and ranunculus. With mixed fabrics, materials and textures used throughout the tablescape and lounge area along with the bold color palette, Darling Details grounded the lively vision with wicker and wooden furniture pieces. To end the evening, the couple cut into a dainty, vintage-inspired cake shaped like a heart featuring lavender frosting and red piping details.

caitlin & sam

Caitlin and Sam met in college while attending West Virginia University while working on an engineering project together. However, it was an algorithm that ultimately brought the two together. “Our friends have told us they always knew it was the real deal. It didn’t take long to figure out that they were right, Sam and I are truly soulmates,” shares Caitlin. Six years later and their love for the mountains brought them to Colorado. “It was a snowy weekend in March, and we set out on a casual morning hike on one of our favorite trails, Ceran St. Vrain just west of Boulder. It’s usually busy on the weekend, but to our surprise, the trail was empty - it was so quiet and peaceful. A few miles in, we stopped off the trail and walked out over a frozen stream and I just started taking in the view, not realizing what Sam was up to behind me. When I turned around, he was down on one knee with the most incredible ring,” reminisces Caitlin. For their wedding, after falling in love with the culture of New Mexico during a few visits, the newly engaged couple knew the charm of the area was the perfect place to invite their nearest and dearest to.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Less is more! Keep your group small and intimate to allow quality time with each of your guests. Don’t get hung up on all the little details and prioritize the vibe and experience over purchasing things like take away items, custom signs and fancy decor that may or may not change your guests experience.”

To capture Caitlin and Sam’s quiet Southwest luxury theme, the couple embraced classic New Mexican attire. For the Western welcome party, Caitlin decked herself out in an ivory linen skirt set and custom ivory cowboy boots with mauve stitching, while Sam opted for a Pendleton pearl snap flannel, dark Frame denim and camel Tecovas boots. He also wore a bolo tie gifted to him by his uncle, a sentimental touch for the affair. Both sported custom cowboy hats by Hats by Parker Thomas, branded with their initials. For the wedding, Caitlin elegantly wore the Margo gown by Karen Willis Holmes paired with sky blue Loeffler Randall block-heeled sandals and stunning hammered gold earrings by We Dream in Colour. Sam chose a custom beige Italian linen suit by Bespoke Edge, complemented by a Tecovas lizard belt and vintage chestnut woven leather loafers. During the reception, the couple embraced natural colors, textures and elements, drawing inspiration from Santa Fe’s quintessential terracotta, beige and blue hues. Their floral design featured primarily native and dried flowers, while terracotta-colored napkins, hand-dyed with avocado by Caitlin’s sister Caroline Worrell, added a personalized touch. Votives and vases, handcrafted by a local New Mexico pottery artist sourced by Floriography, along with a mix of ivory and raw beeswax candles, imbued the reception space with understated luxury.

FAVORITE THING PURCHASED FOR THE WEDDING DAY

Since I was partly doing my own glam, I bought myself a bunch of new makeup from Chanel to really accentuate the quiet luxury aesthetic. I built my kit based on Sofia Richie’s wedding look and product favorites. I’m now obsessed with their shadow palettes, blushes and highlighters. This was a splurge but so worth it if you’re doing your own makeup! I also have to mention the centerpieces from our western welcome party. My husband and I thrifted two dozen pairs of cowboy boots over our year of wedding planning and used those as vases for the dried florals on our tables and lounge areas. After the party our guests got to try them on and take home a pair which was so fun and worth the time and effort of sourcing them all! We had so many compliments on them!

SOMETHING BLUE

My shoes! They added a fun little pop of color under my gown.

SHADE OF LIPSTICK

Funny enough, my lipstick shade was called ‘Wedding Day’ by Lawless. It was the perfect neutral with just a hint of pink!

ONE THING THE GROOM HAD TO HAVE

Singing “Country Roads” at the end of the night! We closed out our reception with our Alma Mater’s beloved song. We all linked arms and sang together. It was the perfect closing to an unforgettable night and gave us a moment to stop and take it all in with our favorite people.

WEDDING CAKE FLAVORs

No cake! We had a giant dessert table with small bites with classic options like whoopie pies, lemon bars, chocolate covered strawberries and truffles. Also some southwest inspired desserts like piñon brittle and Mexican wedding cookies. We gave our guests little take out boxes to take treats back to their room too, which was a hit!

SECOND-LOOk

I wore a Sachin & Babi A-line mini dress with an oversized bow on the back that added a little extra flair. I also tossed on my cowboy boots again and paired it with a vintage pearl clutch.

WHAT SONGS MADE EVERYBODY DANCe

A bit of a throwback, but “Umbrella” by Rihanna! We thought it might rain during the reception, it didn’t!, so I bought a ton of clear umbrellas just in case! As soon as the song came on, everyone’s natural reaction was to run and grab one to dance with, it was iconic!

LATE NIGHT SNACKs

We had a nightcap in La Reina with pizza, tacos and lots of tequila!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYONd

Floriography! They captured my vision so perfectly from the colors to the flower varieties, to our candles and pottery! It was the perfect mix of eclectic and classic with all the Southwest flair we were hoping for. They also surprised me with stunning white orchids in my bouquet, which I initially thought would be out of my price point. They added a gorgeous draping element to my bouquet without sacrificing other flower choices or my budget. Also have to call out the amazing baby’s breath almost-arch that shifted to our reception space as a photo opp spot after the ceremony. Throughout the whole planning process Emily and her team were kind, personable and so enthusiastic about my wedding. I Can’t thank them enough for bringing this part of our wedding to life! Our caterers also really went above and beyond. Both Cowgirl BBQ and Walter Burke helped us customize our menus to fit our southwest, farm-to-table vibe. The event staff was so kind and truly went above and beyond for our guests. They even saved us plates of every course and cocktail hour hors d’oeuvres to be sure my partner and I didn’t miss out on anything as we were greeting all our guests

COVER STORY: SANTA

PUEBLO // JUNE 2

ANA

Caty and Michael met through friends; Caty’s childhood best friend began dating Michael’s roommate in college. The group of friends would go on to travel together numerous times. Four years into their friendship, they began dating long distance while Caty was living in New York and Michael in New Mexico. Eventually the pair moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where they first met and started their lives together in the same city! Five years later, Caty tagged along with Michael on a work trip to Santa Fe, which unbeknownst to her, would become a trip to remember. They ended their trip with a weekend getaway at Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm in Albuquerque. Caty shares, “We’d planned to hike on Friday before heading to Los Poblanos for the weekend, but Michael signed us up for white water rafting instead, I truly can’t convey how unhappy I was, ha! I’m not much of a…rafter, but survived and made our way to Los Poblanos where Michael had set-up a picnic at sunset. I thought we were just killing time before dinner and while he was prepping for the proposal, I shot up to take a photo of the famous peacocks. When I came back, he was on a knee and instead of shouting ‘Yes!,’ I said ‘Seriously? I really wanted to show you my photo of the peacocks!’ followed by an ‘Absolutely!’” Caty and Michael went on to host a desert-inspired garden party for 105 guests at the Hyatt Tamaya.

The couple chose to host an intimate ceremony at the nearby Corrales Winery with just 12 people and their beloved pup, Oliver, in attendance. After their vows, they all indulged in wine under a beautiful willow tree and raised a glass to forever. Caty wore a satin slip dress from Anthropologie with lavender kitten heels which complemented her colorful bouquet perfectly. To tie in the garden party aesthetic to their reception, Bagel’s Florals adorned the tables with pastel blooms of tangerine and purple hues. The evening came to an end with a moment both the couple and guests will remember for years to come, a double rainbow in front of the Sandia Mountains.

SOMETHING BLUe

Two of my best friends wore blue.

AISLE SONG

Because we got married at the winery and kept the environment very organic, we didn’t have a traditional aisle. Instead, Michael and I walked in to a rendition of “Moon River” by 2cellos with our pup, Oliver, and both sets of our parents behind us.

FIRST DANCE SONG

WHY NEW MEXICo

Location wise, you can probably tell that New Mexico is a very special place to us. It’s also an area of the country the majority of our friends and family had not explored. Because of that, we were searching for a property that had four main things: an amazing scenic view, an outdoor reception venue, a lot for guests to do while staying there and close proximity to explore nearby areas like Corrales and Albuquerque. The Hyatt Tamaya had it all!

SECOND-LOOk

Not a second look on wedding day, but I did have my mom’s wedding dress recreated for our welcome dinner! She wore a Jessica McClintock a-line dress on their wedding day, so I had it turned into a two-piece set. It is something I will always treasure!

ADVICE

“A piece of advice I received and am happy I followed was to try to designate a date before festivities start. Our guests started arriving Wednesday night, so we planned a day date to Jemez Hot Springs to spend quality time together before the happy chaos began. It was the best decision for us!”

SANTA FE // JUNE 17

Rachel and Stephen’s love story began during their sophomore year in college when they crossed paths at a shared event. From the moment Stephen laid eyes on Rachel, he felt an instant connection and confidently declared, “I’m going to marry that girl.” When the time came to propose, Stephen wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps by choosing the same spot his parents had: the front porch of their home. Knowing Rachel’s deep affection for Christmas, he seized the perfect moment amidst the festive season, dropping to one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. Their joyous moment was shared with family and friends, who eagerly awaited inside to surprise the newly-engaged bride-to-be. Opting for a change of scenery and to embrace their shared love for Santa Fe and its Southwestern charm, the couple decided to host their destination wedding in the picturesque town, welcoming 160 guests to join in their celebration.

Rachel and Stephen wanted to ensure their family and friends had an unforgettable experience. To achieve this, they planned events that were within walking distance of their wedding venue, La Fonda on the Plaza, including pickleball, golfing and drinks overlooking the majestic mountains at Coyote Café’s new Sunset Terrace. To mimic the hues of that Santa Fe sunset and complement the Southwestern history of the area, the bridesmaids donned terracotta satin dresses while Stephen and the groomsmen coordinated in navy suits paired with boots and bolo ties. Meanwhile, Rachel stunned in a luxurious Grace Loves Lace silk gown.

During the ceremony, a poem written by Stephen’s grandmother was read aloud, setting a hidden theme for the day: family heirlooms. Rachel and Stephen infused their wedding ceremony with sentimental touches, incorporating items such as Rachel’s mother’s blue topaz ring and Stephen’s great grandfather’s pocket watch, his grandfather’s Navy dog tags and his paternal grandfather’s Phi Beta Kappa pin. Lastly, their guest book table featured photographs of their parents’ and grandparents’ wedding days.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Bartenders from ABQ Barkeeps, they had rain on their backs most of the night and never looked upset about it. The band, Will Stewart and the Golden Band, formed a mini tour to make it from Alabama to Taos for our wedding.

It was back in 2010 that Tessa and Will met at the New Orleans Athletic Club. The attraction was immediate, but the timing was wrong being that they were both in relationships. Their friendship harbored mutual, not-so-secret crushes, and continued that way until their worlds aligned 10 years later. “As soon as we became a couple, we knew marriage was in our future, but being in our upper thirties starting a family first was paramount,” reflects Tessa. The path to marriage deviated from convention, evolving into a shared decision to become parents first. After months of anticipation, they chose to elope on their second anniversary, a decision coinciding with Tessa’s long-awaited pregnancy revelation. Tessa shares, “As fate would have it, I found out the same day we eloped that I was finally pregnant. I ran to the drug store, picked up a gift box and gave Will my positive pregnancy as a wedding gift just before we said ‘I do!’ As he opened it he apologized for not getting me a gift too. I told him, ‘Well, you kinda did…’” With a shared interest in finding a place to celebrate that was filled with rich culture, art, history and a mountain twist, Tessa and Will landed on Taos, where they would plan a Spanish, Western-chic wedding for 85 guests.

From finding her dream wedding dress via an extensive internet search which led to late night Zoom sessions with a translator to planning the nitty gritty details, unconventional appeared to be a natural theme for Tessa and Will. With celebration being top of mind, the couple chose a venue that would allow for their family and friends to enjoy each other’s company for a full-weekend. Hotel Luna Mystica offered everything they were after. “We didn’t want to interrupt the evening with stereotypical wedding traditions. We really wanted it to be an uninterrupted party. No stopping to watch us cut a cake, we didn’t have one, no bouquet toss, no planned dances. Most importantly, no hard stop on the night. We had our own speakers and lit fire pits and kept the party going once the band packed up.”

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“It’s not for everyone, but eloping the year before took the pressure of the ceremony off the table. We were able to focus on just having a good time and celebrating with our loved ones.”

SANTA FE // SEPTEMBER 23

Ashley and Mark shared their first date together back in 2017 at Marble Brewery in Albuquerque. After many laughs, great conversation and, of course, an unforgettable first kiss, the pair knew their connection was magical. On their fourth anniversary, the couple planned an array of events to celebrate including a multi-course dinner, a staycation at a nice hotel, a romantic brunch and a hike on Halloween morning. “We headed out to the mountains to enjoy a foggy, spooky morning hiking in the pine forest. When we stumbled across a small brook, I was taking some photos of the scenery and when I turned around, Mark was on his knee with the ring we designed together, ready to propose!” reminisces Ashley. The newly engaged couple went on to plan a modern Dia de Los Muertos themed wedding in Santa Fe for 65 of their closest friends and family.

Ashley and Mark chose the New Mexico Museum of Art in Santa Fe as the venue for their wedding celebration, drawn by their shared passion for history, culture and art. With a vision inspired by Dia de Los Muertos, Ashley collaborated with her mother, aunts and Dayof Coordinator, Vicki Newsom of Orange September, to bring their vision to life. The decor featured framed photos of departed relatives, an abundance of marigolds, candles and a custom white papel picado that was strung throughout the venue. Yet, it was Ashley’s exquisite custom dress and veil, crafted by Terese Rose Designs, that truly captured everyone’s attention. The gown, a modern interpretation of a vintage-Victorian style, was complemented perfectly by a floral-embroidered veil that echoed the vibrant hues of the marigolds.

loren & ben

Loren and Ben’s love story began in the workplace, where they crossed paths as colleagues. Ben, a lawyer, worked alongside Loren, who was balancing her time between her law studies and part-time work at the firm. Their relationship blossomed over eight years before they decided to take the next significant step. During a memorable vacation in Tanzania with Ben’s family, a pivotal moment unfolded. As they admired the breathtaking sunset atop a ridge overlooking Serengeti National Park, Ben orchestrated a heartfelt proposal that left both of them in tears of joy. With a resounding “Yes!” from Loren, they embarked on their journey to forever. With a shared desire of wanting a wedding venue that showed off the high desert landscape, Loren and Ben landed on Blame Her Ranch for their relaxed Southwestern wedding.

HIGHLIGHT OF YOUR RECEPTION

Our reception was outdoors. After dinner, our coordinator warned us the forecast was calling for rain. Once we finished the traditional first dances, I yelled, “We have about seven minutes before it starts raining, everybody get your ass on the dance floor!” All our friends and family immediately jumped up to dance with us.

WEDDING EXIT

We spent the entire weekend at our wedding venue, so there was no official end time or send-off. We were the first ones there and the last ones to leave!

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND

All our vendors were great. For us, food and drink were really important. Mila’s Mesa was fantastic for catering. Our bar service, Mananita, was incredible. They crafted custom his and hers cocktails based on our specific tastes, and we had so many guests comment on how delicious the drinks were.

“Cerca de Ti” by Hermanos Gutierrez

The essence of authenticity and enjoyment infused every aspect of Loren and Ben’s wedding day. They crafted a relaxed atmosphere, allowing ample time to savor each moment with loved ones. Since most of their guests traveled from afar, Loren was adamant about incorporating elements of traditional New Mexican cuisine into their reception. Enchiladas, calabacitas and pinto beans adorned the dinner tables, offering a taste of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Rather than a traditional cake, guests indulged in biscochitos and green-chile apple tarts, adding a unique and flavorful twist to their dessert selection. In a stroke of good luck, the dance party came to a close under a sprinkle of raindrops!

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“There is a long to-do list for any wedding, and you can feel a lot of pressure. Focus on what is most important to you as a couple. A wedding is a unique opportunity to bring family and friends together and celebrate each other. Enjoy it and try not to stress over the details.”

vicky & peter

Vicky and Peter had known each other for years through mutual friends, but it wasn’t until a ski trip to Santa Fe that they truly connected. Five years into their relationship, Vicky unwittingly orchestrated her own proposal. In the summer of 2021, she suggested a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, for a concert over the Fourth of July weekend. Little did she know, Peter saw this as the perfect opportunity to propose. “We were all excited about the trip, thinking nothing of it,” Vicky reminisces. During their stay, Peter suggested a celebratory dinner with friends at an Italian restaurant in the Wynn Resort. They dined outside by a picturesque pond that resembled a garden. As the evening wound down, Peter stood up and began a heartfelt speech directed at Vicky. “I was initially taken aback, but then it hit me, he was proposing!” Vicky recalls with joy. That day, she became engaged, and it was more than she could have ever imagined. They planned a classic and timeless wedding in their hometown of Albuquerque for 250 guests.

To honor their Vietnamese heritage, the couple included a traditional tea ceremony the morning of the wedding at which Vicky wore a breathtaking Vietnamese red Ao Dai. The tea ceremony serves as one of the most symbolic events in their culture and is when the two families formally become one. Vicky’s fashion continued to awe throughout the day including a romantic off-the-shoulder wedding gown by Enzoani followed by a custom reception dress featuring a sequin illusion neckline, feathered cuffs and a split down the leg. This outfit change set the tone for the epic party that went down after the ceremony led by Cut Master Music.

whitney & mason

It was Whitney and Mason’s career paths that brought them together. Back in 2021, the pair met organically at a sales conference in Dallas, Texas. Both happened to be working in orthopedic sales in Oklahoma and just so happened to be assigned the same training dates. After dating for just over a year, the couple headed to a New Year’s ski trip with Whitney’s family. Whitney and Mason decided to head up a day early to explore their favorite spots. Little did she know, Mason was planning something extra special. With no one else around, he found the perfect, snowy spot in the intimate courtyard next to their casita to pop the question. The rest of the trip was spent celebrating the exciting news with family and enjoying the slopes!

Jac Dodge captured every moment better than I could have ever dreamed of. She knew Mason and I wanted the essence of Santa Fe in our pictures and she nailed it. We are quiet people and she made us feel so comfortable. Jac feels like family and she has a real gift at what she does. We were so lucky to find her and already have future family sessions scheduled with her.

Whitney and Mason planned a simple, Southwestern inspired wedding at Bishop’s Lodge in Santa Fe. Their private ceremony took place in the historic Bishop Lamy Chapel. Their pastor, two witnesses and the two of them were the only ones present which was exactly how they imagined starting their forever together. To tie in the aesthetic of their wedding, Whitney stunned in a flowy white dress paired with an elegant fur vest and custom cowboy hat while Mason wore a sport coat with custom cowboy boots. After their vows, the newlyweds enjoyed a glass of champagne with their two dogs before joining their 22 guests for an intimate soirée. With the sun setting over the terrace, family and friends sipped on margaritas to celebrate Whitney and Mason.

Mackenzie & Travis

Mackenzie and Travis both grew up in the small southwestern town of Durango, Colorado. However, they wouldn’t first meet until about ten years after they graduated from high school. Mackenzie shares that in her hometown, it’s common to hitch a ride with someone heading to Denver. And, on a trip home from New York, New York, Mackenzie was in need of just that, a ride. It just so happened that Travis was making the six hour trip to the city and when she hopped in his truck and buckled up, little did she know it would mark the beginning of their love story. Just five years later, after moving to Austin, Texas, Travis planned a weekend excursion at McKinney Falls State Park. Mackenzie shares, “The trail was busier than he was expecting, but as soon as we had some privacy from other hikers, he asked me to get something out of his backpack for him; a little black ring box that I promptly ‘hot-potato’d’ back to him before he got down on one knee and proposed. It was an obvious ‘Yes!’” Afterwards, they celebrated at June’s All Day on South Congress which they would later deem their special occasion spot.

VENDORS THAT WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND Lindsey at Mini Falls Farm was absolutely amazing! Our rescheduled wedding date was outside of their growing season, but she regrouped and made it work by harvesting some of their flowers to dry and sourcing from elsewhere when needed. We were so appreciative of how she got creative to make the situation work, and the arrangements were stunning!

Originally planned for September 30, the couple faced unforeseen circumstances which forced them to postpone their wedding by six weeks. While this posed many challenges, the soon-tobe newlyweds were able to overcome the obstacles to plan a wedding they described as “perfect for us.” Working closely with Elsa of Heirlooms Design, Mackenzie and Travis planned an elevated, desert chic wedding in the backyard of Travis’ parent’s property for 50 guests. They decorated the space with an abundance of bistro lights, candles and fires to create an inviting and intimate space for their family and friends to enjoy. Following a short and sweet ceremony, the sounds of live music echoed throughout the evening courtesy of Revolve Mobile Disco and Nathan Schmidt, as guests delighted in an epic grazing table featuring posole, tamales, salad and their favorite dessert: vanilla ice cream adorned with olive oil, honey, sea salt and fennel pollen.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Do your absolute best to stay true to what feels right for you! It’s okay to pivot, it’s okay to decide you want to go the simple route, it’s your day and it’s about your commitment to each other, you do what you want, and your people will support you!”

DYNAMIC DUOS

Inspire your bridal style with glamorous gowns from Grace Love Laces paired with bold blooms designed by Renegade Floral to create an effortless, yet striking look for your wedding day in the Land of Enchantment.

THE dress

To add a touch of modernity to the overall look, the bride chose the Carmen gown described by the designer as “a celebration of love and soulful passion”, made for dancing until dawn. To allow for unlimited movement and energy, the wedding gown, made from a stretchy lace material, features an asymmetrical split and a chiffon waterfall drape resembling the traditional ruffles of a Flamenco dress.

Veil: Fleur, Grace Loves Lace | graceloveslace.com

THE look

Invite the history of the southwest into your bridal look through a Flamenco-inspired bouquet featuring pin cushion protea, bromeliad, raspberry stock and deep purple ranunculus. This vibrant and fiery floral focal point was complemented by a cranberry lip color selected carefully by the Betty Rose team.

Ring: The Maeve Round 4-Prong Solitaire paired with the The Chimayo Band, a 14k gold arch band with .32 ct marquise and round diamonds

THE dress

If you’re saying “I do” during a transition of seasons, say “Yes” to Anu, a long sleeve silk wedding gown that feels as effortless as it looks. Offering versatility like wildflowers, Anu features stretch-silk that drapes off one shoulder and opens to an asymmetrical back with a ribbon that can be tied in numerous ways providing the bride with some personalization. The classic, flowing train is perfect for a romantic candlelight ceremony or outdoor garden party soirée.

THE look

Opt for the unexpected with a twist on the traditional “wildflower” arrangement, showcasing a muted color palette that echoes the enchanting hues of New Mexico’s landscape. This bridal bouquet features delicate elements including butterfly bush, echinacea pods, hellebore, stock, lavender and roses which are often flowers found freshly in one’s garden.

Ring: The Maeve Oval 4-Prong Solitaire paired with The Geneva Band, a 14k gold arched tracer band with .48 ct marquise and round diamonds

THE dress

When you’re working with a statement piece, choose a dress with a simple aura. The Valentine satin wedding gown by Grace Loves Lace acts as the perfect blank canvas for any statement accessory. The pleated bust and waist cinching bow provide a sophisticated and classic look that can be styled to complement any wedding theme.

THE look

Honor your family by incorporating a stylish heirloom into your bridal bouquet whether it be a locket, handkerchief or lace from a matriarch’s wedding gown. This vintage Chanel scarf with a watercolor design was the perfect pop of color to an otherwise traditional white wedding look.

Ring: The Feliz Round Brilliant Ring, a 14k gold ring with a 1.25 ct round center stone and .71 ct marquise and round starburst diamond halo

THE dress

To ensure the Santa Fe inspired bouquet had its moment, the bride chose a simple, textured satin wedding gown, Oceania, featuring a classic V-neckline and barelythere rouleaux straps. The back, however, is a true showstopper with a deep-V open back. This bridal ensemble would beautifully harmonize with the timeless charm of any historic Santa Fe wedding venue, accentuating the captivating red hues of its iconic adobe architecture.

THE look

New Mexico is made up of a variety of unique towns including Santa Fe which is known for its vibrant art scene. Melissa, owner of Renegade Floral, said this bouquet was, “inspired by the generations of artisans, painters and makers that are the heartbeat of this little city!” Hues of lavender, light blues, yellow, dusty rose and rust red mimic the painted skies of this historic city at dusk and is a subtle way to pay homage to the area.

Ring: The Zia Round Brilliant Ring, a 14k gold ring with a 1 ct round center stone and .61 ct marquise and round diamond starburst halo

ELEPHANT BUTTE LAKE // ANNIVERSARY

NICOLE + RICK

High school sweethearts, Nicole and Rick, grew up together in a small town in southern New Mexico. Nicole shares, “I’ve known him since I was 14 years old and we’ve been together since I was 17 years old, I truly don’t know adult life without him and I don’t ever want to. I feel so beyond blessed to be loved by him and to have found my soulmate at such a young age.” Seven years into their relationship, Rick enlisted the help of Nicole’s friend, Mindy. Mindy lured Nicole to a park under a ruse of a photoshoot, only for Nicole to arrive with her favorite song, “(God Must Have Spent) A Little More Time on You” by *NSYNC, playing in the background, friends and family in attendance and Rick on one knee. The pair married four years later after the delay of a deployment and celebrated their continued love with a lakeside photoshoot captured by Alyssa Green Photo and planned by Sunny Side Events.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Rick and I base the foundation of our relationship on the three C’s. Communication: Always communicate to each other. Over communicate. Tell each other how you are feeling. How much you love each other. If something is bothering you. Compromise: Meet in the middle. Be willing to sacrifice for one another. Commitment: Give each other your full 100%. Even on days when you can’t give your all, be willing to take on more so when the time comes when you can’t, the other can. It’s important to know no relationship is perfect. We fight and we have overcome a lot of obstacles as a couple by always sticking by each other’s side and understanding compromise and our commitment to one another.”
