AVERAGE TEMPERATURES

Albuquerque’s weather fluctuates heavily throughout the year. During summer months, average high temperatures exceed 90 degrees. In the winter, nightly temperatures average well below freezing. Shoulder seasons (spring and fall) can provide the best times to get married in Albuquerque, as temperatures tend to be mild and pleasant.

RMB Tip: Packing for a wedding in Albuquerque depends on where and when you’ll be getting married. For summer weddings in the city, guests can keep it light and airy as even nightly temperatures will be warm and pleasant. However, if you plan to get married or take part in activities at higher elevations, packing layers, such as a light jacket, is smart. The mountains surrounding the city often hold snow until late spring.

Blushing Bride-To-Be

Bride to be, Kata, celebrated her bridal shower surrounded by her closest friends at the ‘Til Death Venue, located in the heart of downtown Albuquerque. Captured by Lavel Marie Photography, guests donned their favorite shade of pink to celebrate the blushing bride to be and create a feeling of oneness before the big day. While noshing on hors d’oeuvres from Cuterie & Co., a Latina owned luxury charcuterie company, guests were invited to document the bridal shower day with photos from the Vida Loca Photo Booth.

albuquerque wedding guide 2023 - volume 2 / rockymountainbride.com 15

‘Til Death Venue’s largest venue space, the Grand Hall, boasts a spectacular open concept space with floor to ceiling brick walls that can transform into the grandest of celebrations. While enjoying the Grand Hall in the ‘Til Death Venue, La Flora Floristry taught guests how to build their own dried floral bouquet with small Palm Leaves, Pampas Grass and Bunny Tails.

After creating their custom bouquets, guests moved upstairs to the Terrace, a rooftop terrace that overlooks historic Route 66 with incredible mountain and cityscape views. Darling Details Rentals provided stunning tablescape details of plates and glassware. A catered meal from M’Tucci’s Bar Roma awaited on modern wood tables and benches provided by the ‘Til Death Venue. After dinner, guests chose carefully curated cocktails by Two Dudes & a Bar Top from custom signage by Scrybe. A celebration of love and oneness brought together the details of Kata’s pretty in pink bridal shower at the ‘Til Death Venue.

Jaelyn + Sarah

Jaelyn and Sarah’s bridals are warmth against a backdrop of the painted clear blue New Mexico skies. Their love burned brightly in the heat of the Albuquerque sun, as captured by Nicole Borchenko Photography. With bohemian elements, both brides stunned in gowns designed by Tara Lauren and picked from Spring Sweet Bride.

Sarah originally proposed to Jaelyn in the presence of her family with a ring designed by Point No Point Studio. Three months later, Jaelyn popped the question to Sarah while camping at Niagara Falls with a ring from Midwinter Co.

Jordan + Lyle

Jordan and Lyle’s love story began at soccer camp the summer before their freshman year of high school, and they have been best friends ever since. As their friendship grew, so did their love for each other for the next six years. Lyle organized a trip with some of their closest friends to go to Rocky Mountain National Park, where he intended to propose. The day of the proposal, they went on the most beautiful hike where he kept suggesting they stop for a snack break, which was a code for their friends to get their cameras ready for the proposal. After about five snack breaks and two hours into the hike, Lyle finally got down on one knee and proposed. Jordan was instantly in a puddle of tears. The two planned a fall wedding at the Hotel Albuquerque.

albuquerque wedding guide 2023 - volume 2 / rockymountainbride.com 31

With hues of burnt orange and champagne, Jordan and Lyle officially became husband and wife surrounded by the people they love most in this world. Jordan enjoyed the wedding planning process, from carefully sourcing decor from thrift stores and estate sales to building their photo backdrop and cornhole boards, she found a love for the attention to small details. They chose to incorporate some of Jordan’s Native American roots with turquoise details in her wedding band, bracelet and a broach from her grandmother on her wedding bouquet. Jordan and Lyle, both raised in New Mexico, did a traditional New Mexico wedding dance called “La Marcha.”

WHY THE ROCKIES

“Lyle and I were both raised in New Mexico. We love the New Mexican culture and beauty, and we couldn’t have thought of a better place to get married!”

Amber + Steven

Amber and Steven met in 2018 on the dance floor after an Atlanta Braves game. After making eye contact across the room several times, Steven went to leave and Amber chased him down knowing they could not leave without speaking. He was a gentleman, offered Amber his coat and she heard his British accent, which instantly intrigued her. They took things slow and did not officially start dating until January 2020. Steven proposed in Asheville, North Carolina on their first solo vacation together. He proposed in front of the Biltmore Estate during sunset and unforeseen storm. They planned a classic and enchanting elopement at the La Luz Trail in Albuquerque.

albuquerque wedding guide 2023 - volume 2 / rockymountainbride.com 37

When planning their wedding, Amber and Steven knew they wanted a unique and immersive experience. They chose “The Land of Enchantment” because that was exactly what they wanted to capture on their wedding day. The desert feel mixed with the gorgeous mountains of New Mexico took their breath away. Surrounded by 48 of their closest friends and family, Amber and Steven said their “I do’s” under the bright blue Albuquerque sun.

Arielle + Colin

Arielle and Colin moved to New York in 2014, but did not officially meet until 2017. Arielle and her friend, Marie, were in search of the perfect apartment when they decided to move into a South Williamsburg apartment with three guys. The five roommates quickly became great friends, throwing parties, watching Sunday football and hitting the Williamsburg bar scene together. Arielle and Colin continued to grow closer together as friends, and when Colin was about to move out of their shared apartment, Arielle decided to make the first move to see where Colin’s feelings were. The rest was history! Three years later, Colin proposed to Arielle on the Williamsburg Bridge, a place where they shared so many memories. The two planned a June wedding at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa.

albuquerque wedding guide 2023 - volume 2 / rockymountainbride.com 43

They wanted to incorporate the enchanting desert elements of Albuquerque in their wedding day. Countless trips from New York to New Mexico, the stress, endless bride podcasts, articles read and sleep lost were a thing of the past once Arielle and Colin arrived at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa for their wedding day. Arielle and Colin both love music, so both of their wedding gifts to each other were centered around music. Arielle surprised Colin the morning of their wedding with a custom song written about their love story, and Colin surprised Arielle by playing and singing a song during their reception.

Love is in the Air

The hot air balloon capital of the world, Albuquerque is the perfect backdrop for your hot air balloon elopement. Albuquerque is home to the International Balloon Fiesta, a nine-day hot air balloon festival that creates an enchanted atmosphere over the town. While it may be difficult to elope during the Balloon Fiesta, thanks to rules and regulations, you and your spouse-to-be can elope anytime of the year with Rainbow Ryders.

Rainbow Ryders creates a mobile venue where you can say your vows either on the ground or soaring high above the New Mexico desert. Adventure Photographer, Wild Coast Photography, captured this special elopement in the quiet Albuquerque morning. The couple shared vows between blasts of the massive torch keeping them aloft in the sky. The calm stillness of the morning combined with the intimacy of the couple solidifying their love for each other was an unforgettable experience.

Regalaffair

A Regal Affair came from the love of Bridgerton and everything Royalcore. Julia Ramires, designer and coordinator, wanted the romance to show on the screen, everything from the soft color palette to beautiful gold accents. The vendors wanted the bride to feel regal and ethereal, the groom to feel like Mr. Darcy walking through the meadows, and their love to feel timeless.

albuquerque wedding guide 2023 - volume 2 / rockymountainbride.com 61

Red Horse Bed and Breakfast in Albuquerque had a beautiful open field which had the most perfect sunsets and breathtaking trees. For the tablescape, Beloved Rentals stayed with soft colors, gold flatware, a two-cup setting, one with a gold rim and the other a vintage blush goblet to keep a pop of color, and a gold-rimmed charger. All topped with a beautiful blue fringed napkin to enhance the wonderful stationery from Scrybe. The ethereal color palette shined through in the florals from La Floral Floristry. They wanted the flowers to really reach out on the table and create a lush look.

a timeless love, a love for the centuries

The bride’s dress from Bridal Elegance by Darlene is sleek and timeless with a sheer, detachable sleeve to pull together the Regency feel. The makeup, done by Something Ginger, for the bride was inspired by Sza at the Met Gala where the theme was Heavenly Bodies. With a little pop of color eyeshadow, the vendors wanted to remind brides that elegance comes in all forms! Her hair of course was bejeweled with pearls to showcase the worth and royalness of a Black woman’s hair.

albuquerque wedding guide 2023 - volume 2 / rockymountainbride.com 67

The cake was a two-tiered masterpiece, the bottom was a scalloped edge, keeping it classic and clean, with the top being a tall round with floral icing accents and gold flakes. Three Baby Birds took this and created such a timeless look. Proving that creating a Regency-era look can still be modern and innovative.
