HOW TO GET THERE
WHAT TO PACK
Knowing what to pack is directly impacted by where you will be getting married in Colorado Springs. For example, The Broadmoor is located at 6,230 feet, while Pike’s Peak sits at 14,115 feet, over two times the elevation of the city. If you plan to explore the area or head into the mountains, you and your guests will want to pack for a wide range of weather conditions, even during the summer.
Wind jackets, a hat, gloves, and a nice pair of hiking boots, are all great items to bring to a wedding in the mountains near Colorado Springs, no matter the season. The average high in July for Pike’s Peak is a mild 64, which can feel much colder when wind is present. If you plan to celebrate all your nuptials in the city, typical warm-weather attire & a light cardigan will do.
Cars and planes are the most common ways of transportation to Colorado Springs. The Colorado Springs airport is small but mighty and provides service for American, Avelo, Delta, Southwest, Sun Country and United airlines with direct flights to major cities in Texas and California.

AVERAGE TEMPERATURES
RMB Tip: Sunshine, sunshine, sunshine! One of the best parts about getting married in Colorado Springs is knowing that the weather is consistent, with over 300 days of sun per year. With that being said, temperature fluctuations are not nearly as simple. Winters are brutal & cold, while summers often bring temperatures into the high 80s. Snowpack in the mountains lingers into June, and the weather can be drastically different in town compared to the mountains.
Suppose you plan to head up Pike’s Peak or anywhere with a higher elevation as part of wedding festivities. In that case, it’s essential to pack accordingly, check weather updates often, and expect the unexpected.

ALL DAY MOUNTAIN ELOPEMENT
Enspire Studios and Ruka Armstrong Photo teamed up with only the best local vendors to create an all-day mountain elopement in Colorado Springs. Whether you’re currently planning a Rocky Mountain elopement or perusing the magazine for memories of your own special day, this allday elopement is meant to inspire couples to take time out of their busy wedding day to slow down, enjoy the little things and soak in every special moment with your spouse-to-be.
First, it’s important to start the morning of your wedding or elopement off with the most important meal of the day: brunch! After a relaxing morning enjoying yummy food and each other’s company, you and your spouse-to-be can plan a soak at SunWater Spa in Manitou Springs to recharge and rest up for your big day. Spending quality time is what’s most important about your wedding day because this is the person you’re going to spend the rest of your life with.
Time for a dip in the pool! From natural hot springs to local spas, Colorado’s one of the top destinations for relaxation when it comes to finding moments of peace before your ceremony. Book a spa day or explore one of the local sites with your spouse-to-be for a slow wedding morning. Colorado Springs is home to some of the best hiking in the state, so spend some time making memories and exploring the place where you’ll say “I do.” Whether you’re from Colorado or just visiting for your elopement, enjoy your time exploring the beauty of the state on the day of your elopement.
It’s time to get married! Small details, like customized vow books, will make your elopement all the more special. Once you and your spouse-to-be are all dolled up, head to your ceremony site where you will say “I do.” Your wedding day is about you as a couple and the life you want to build together, so make sure to incorporate special moments that reflect you both.

Kassidi + Clark
It all started in the DM’s, when Kassidi messaged Clark for some coffee. They had followed each other on Instagram for quite some time before something sparked their initial meeting. They met for wine and cheese, and stayed for the heartfelt conversation and nearinstantaneous connection. From then, Kassidi and Clark have been true partners in all things: in love, in business, in puppy parenthood and in life.
Kassidi and Clark are both in the wedding industry, which helped Clark plan the perfect proposal. He volunteered the two of them to model for a “styled shoot” at the Paint Mines in Colorado Springs, and chose a white dress for Kassidi to wear. Unbeknownst to Kassidi, this was not a normal styled shoot but was instead a proposal for her. They headed out to the scenic Paint Mines with some fellow wedding industry friends at golden hour, and Lex of Abshire Films, prompted them to stand back to back. Much to Kassidi’s surprise, she turned to find Clark down on one knee. They returned home to a celebration at their home decked out with hundreds of candles, a private chef curated dinner party and loved ones waiting to celebrate.

REAL WEDDINGS
Jessica + Zach
Jessica and Zach’s love story began in college when they met at a local bar with mutual friends. Jessica left without giving her number to Zach because she did not think he would remember her, but they eventually found each other on Facebook and proceeded to get coffee the same day they reconnected. Jessica and Zach were fortunate enough to spend the next seven years growing together, and while most of their relationship was long distance, they never felt pressured to rush anything. On their seventh anniversary, Zach shared a quote with Jessica that he found fitting for them - “it’s hard to be a cloud when you’re next to a sunbeam.” Zach proposed six months later while they were hiking in Roxborough Park right as a storm passed and the clouds started to part. He asked Jessica to spend the rest of their lives together with the sun shining through the clouds.
The two planned an intimate fall wedding at the Pinery at the Hill, and spent their wedding day giggling through the ceremony and smiling from ear to ear. Jessica, a corporate event planner at the time, knew she wanted to get married at a venue that was all-inclusive. She’s grateful for how the Pinery was able to work with them through Covid restrictions and helped keep everything in-house for their wedding day.
WHY THE ROCKIES
“The breathtaking views of course! The Pinery’s location was so perfect for us. It was a great statement between the city and the mountains. It overlooked Colorado Springs on one side and Cheyenne mountain on the other.”
Jessica and Zach embraced the Colorado fall and incorporated hints of sage green, burnt orange and gold into their wedding. Jessica is Taiwanese, so it was also important to include a part of her culture during the day. Her dad made pineapple cakes, a Taiwanese delicacy, and placed them in traditional red boxes. Red is an important color in Asian culture as it symbolizes happiness, joy and prosperity: all things Jessica and Zach wanted to shine through on their wedding day.

Caroline + Joseph
Caroline and Joseph met online and had almost an instant connection. They dated for six months before Joe popped the question while they were hiking in White Ranch Park, outside of Golden. The two spent the next year planning a spring wedding at The Broadmoor.
They planned their wedding during the height of the pandemic, so their motto was “go with the flow.” Caroline and Joe wanted their wedding day to be one thing: celebratory. They planned the party of the season at the Estate House on the Broadmoor property. Caroline’s favorite moment of their spring wedding was their first look because it felt like a special moment just for the two of them before the chaos of the night.
ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES
“Don’t sweat the small stuff and try to take in the day. It is an incredible feeling to have so many people all in one place to celebrate your commitment and new life together.”

Kaylee + Cody
Kaylee and Cody met in high school when two of their mutual friends started dating. Their friends thought Kaylee and Cody would be a good fit for each other, so they set them up. Seven years later, Cody planned to propose under the guise of a spur of the moment date at their favorite sushi restaurant in Des Moines, Iowa. While they ate dinner, Cody’s nerves were through the roof as he tried to find the spot where they were to meet the photographer. Finally, Kaylee began to get suspicious and Cody popped the question in front of the pagoda.
Kaylee and Cody made sure to incorporate special details into their elopement with a Scrabble rack that spelled out “Just Married” as a tribute to Cody’s late grandmother. Shannon of Century Tree Co. laid out a special sitting area for the newlyweds where they enjoyed great pizza and homemade pancakes as their substitute wedding cake.
WHY THE ROCKIES
“We had visited Colorado in the past and really enjoyed the mountains, so we wanted to go back! Also, we found out that we could self-solemnize and have our dogs sign our wedding certificate.”

Kelsey + Stefan
A game of beer pong at a college bar in Omaha, Nebraska led to the beginning of Kelsey and Stefan’s love story. Almost five years after their first meeting, Stefan proposed to Kelsey in front of the Eiffel Tower. They were on the trip to France with Kelsey’s family, so it was extra special that her family was there to celebrate the couple’s engagement. The two planned an early fall wedding at the Broadmoor two years later.
Kelsey and Stefan’s wedding day was planned with the intention of making the day classic and intimate. With only ten guests in attendance, their wedding at the Broadmoor was the perfect combination of the two. They credit the Broadmoor planner and florist for making the experience seamless. Surrounded by their families, Kelsey and Stefan tied the knot at the Lakeside Terrace on the Broadmoor property.
While they pushed back their date from June to October, they lucked out with a perfect Colorado fall day. Kelsey’s highlight of their reception was when her dad made a touching speech about how happy he was that she found someone who would take care of her and made her happy. Kelsey and Stefan were also thrilled that their families got along well and had plenty of time to bond due to their intimate wedding day.

Maggie + Mikaela
Maggie and Mikaela met in November 2017 when they matched on a dating app, but ended up running into each other on a night out with friends separately. Mikaela saw Maggie tearing it up on the dance floor, recognized her from the app and messaged her. After their initial meeting, Maggie and Mikaela ran into each other a few more times before they officially went on a first date. A few months after their first date, Maggie moved in with Mikaela and they began their very chaotic, hilarious, and adventurous lives and have not looked back since.
Mikaela is an officer in the Air Force, and two years after their love story began, was deployed overseas for almost seven months. Maggie and Mikaela planned a trip to the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee during Mikaela’s deployment, so they would have something to look forward to during their time of long distance. Maggie was suspicious there would be a proposal during their trip, but due to the large Labor Day weekend crowds, Mikaela could not propose during their hike to Rainbow Falls. They ended up getting engaged while they ate their lunch by a quiet, remote creek. Maggie proposed back to Mikaela a few weeks later outside of the hot dog stand where they first met.
The two planned a late summer modern elopement with rustic and bohemian elements at 1 C Barn. They wanted to keep their wedding day as simple as possible, and really wanted their celebration to reflect and embody their personalities and relationship. Maggie and Mikaela planned everything with intention for their wedding, from speeches by close friends and family to a carefully curated dance floor playlist, they wanted everything to be intimate and special.
In true Colorado fashion, a summer storm rolled in right as Maggie and Mikaela’s ceremony started. With wind howling and rain drenching everyone in attendance at the wedding, the two tied the knot and it was perfect. Nothing ever goes according to plan in Maggie and Mikaela’s relationship, which was why this last minute storm fit their wedding day perfectly. They were left with the sun shining and the most spectacular rainbow over the field where their ceremony was held. To some people, that is a nightmare situation, but to Maggie and Mikaela, it was one of the best parts of their day.

Young + Michael
Young and Michael are both physicians and met during residency while taking care of a mutual patient. Michael proposed four years later during his birthday party in his parents backyard. There was a mariachi band playing as part of his celebration, and he proposed during one of their songs. He pulled Young up from her seat, and while she was anticipating a dance, Michael got down on one knee to propose.
They got married in September at the Garden of the Gods Resort surrounded by their closest friends and family. Their whole wedding day was incredibly special from getting to spend quality time with their family and soon-tobe in-laws to getting married amongst the towering mountain backdrop of the Garden of the Gods, every moment was breathtaking. Young and Michael felt like they were in heaven.
Young is Korean and Michael is Dominican, so they knew that they wanted to incorporate parts of their culture into their wedding day. Young’s mother presented them with Korean wedding ducks or Mandarin ducks because it is believed that, unlike other types of ducks, they mate for life. For Koreans, Mandarin ducks represent peace, fidelity and plentiful offspring. For Michael, they did “Hora Loca” or crazy hour where they passed around Korean traditional paper masks, Dominican hats and flags, and sunglasses while dancing the hour away to K-pop and Latin American dance songs.
