EVER MINE

With breathtaking photography by Braden Young Photo, known for his candid storytelling approach to wedding imagery, and a beautifully curated selection of bridal fashion, what better way to welcome the changing seasons than a mood-boosting pop of color steeped in chic sophistication. Inspired by the playful moments after saying “I do,” Allison Baddley of La Fête artistically designed an elegant affair at Utah’s newest venue, Twenty & Creek, situated in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley. To set the tone, bespoke details such as stationery and signage from Beck Engraving Design Studio evoked a sense of contemporary flair with modern shapes and wavy lines while the bride and groom’s ceremony ensembles were rooted in timeless style that ceases to ever appear obsolete.

FANCIFUL FÊTE

Amongst the white surfaces, expansive wooden-framed floor-to-ceiling windows, and light French Oak flooring, the impressive open space offers a blank canvas atmosphere allowing personalization to prevail. Naturally, La Fête Floral & Events created an enchanting backdrop of bright, whimsy florals to bring the distinct feeling of summer indoors. Stunning ranunculus, dahlias, garden roses, delphinium, clematis and Coral Charm Peonies command attention as the aisle invites you to the altar with gold trimmed hurricane vases and pastel blue candles.

CAKEY KISS

Keeping to an effortlessly simple aesthetic, Flour & Flourish handcrafted a smooth buttercream cake perfectly adorned with painted sugar flowers for a unique touch. Following a darling kiss during the traditional wedding cake cutting, the lovers transitioned to the party portion of the evening where the bride took full advantage of an outfit change. A sexy little number, designed by Nadine Merabi, featuring pink beaded fringe, sparkling sequins, and a feather hemline is iconic for fashion aficionados who embrace the fun of letting loose.

MIDNIGHT MUNCHIES

Demonstrating that weddings do not always have to incorporate a neutral palette, the newlyweds served mouthwatering late night snacks in trendy bubblegum pink boxes to satisfy guests’ midnight munchies. The Blended Table arranged a delectable assortment of charcuterie, lobster rolls, house kettle chips, and mini pizzas along with seasonal cocktails. As the hours grew, a final farewell in a 1960 Ford Thunderbird Convertible awaited for the couple’s grand escape to happily-ever-after.

Chanel at theChateau

Nestled in the heart of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains amid breathtaking alpine splendor lies the luxurious Stein Eriksen Lodge. The rugged mountains and graceful slopes surrounding the authentic European lodge provides a stunning backdrop for an experience that is nothing short of spectacular. Led by Debbie Anderson of Dawne Events, this Chanel meets Château wedding inspiration was born into existence. The muse for the color palette was found in the iconic Chanel N°5 perfume. A timeless, legendary fragrance in a radically minimal bottle exudes the very essence of femininity since its creation in 1921. Its golden aromatic liquid, glistening glass, and black sans serif text emblazoned on a white label seamlessly translates to delicate hues of yellow and ivory.

In the hours leading up to the ceremony the bride along with her bridal party relishes in moments that are not rushed, but cherished, and will surely last a lifetime. Following a morning of sipping champagne in matching robes while plenty of getting ready photos are captured, the time has come to slip into a gown synonymous with timeless elegance, romance, and a classic soul. Designed by Kelly Faetanini, the sleek dress is crafted from soft crepe fabric with a flattering square neckline and fit-to-flare silhouette, and is meant to transcend time.

Evidently timeless elegance meets you at every turn when planning your nuptials at the acclaimed Stein Eriksen Lodge. As a nod to Norwegian history of the chalet-style lodge’s namesake, a boldly sophisticated seating chart displayed with the Norse word ‘skål’ meaning ‘cheers’ was incorporated into the couple’s love story. Guests found their name and table assignments on Scandinavian tulip shot glasses filled with Aquavit, the traditional toasting drink, crafted by a local Park City distillery and often referred to as nectar of the gods.

An evening in the company of friends, family, and an al fresco dinner set the scene for the reception where soft, fluid pleating of the table linens were reflected in the bridesmaids’ dresses. A juxtaposition of black and white chairs intentionally complement the laser cut table numbers featuring minimal lines and a subtle white square reminiscent of the classic eau de parfum and Coco Chanel, herself.

As you take in the intricacies of the aesthetics, you will find the bride's ring from J. Brooks Jewelers even has the same emerald cut silhouette as the perfume bottle. Once more the diaphanous layers of airy tulle worn by the bridal party influence the sculptural movement cascading down the tiers of the nearly all-white wedding cake.

Asha + andre wellsville

Asha and Andre are essentially high school sweethearts, however, their relationship didn’t flourish until years after they graduated. “We always knew of each other in high school, but we never talked,” Asha remembers. That all changed in the spring of 2021 when the pair connected on social media. For their first date, Asha and Andre traveled to the coastal city of Newport Beach in Southern California. The following week consisted of daily dates before having to head back to college and do the long distance thing. Then, on a summer day in July, just days after the couple’s first anniversary, Andre proposed during a photo shoot. “Andre and I planned to take professional pictures around our anniversary; towards the end of the session the photographer started to distract me by turning me away from Andre. Moments later, Andre tapped me on my back and when I turned around he was on one knee with the ring. Not only did he surprise me with the proposal, but he also surprised me by having both of our moms there as a part of the special moment,” Asha shares.

Birch Creek Golf Course

While Adrianna and Ryan first met in middle school and stayed close throughout high school, it wasn’t until their sophomore year of college that a relationship blossomed. “My little brother, Dillan, idolizes Ryan, who plays golf for Utah Valley University, and begged me to set up a round with him. I did, and they have played ever since.” Adrianna shares. Somewhere in between tee time and scoring a birdie on the fifth hole, Adrianna’s brother told Ryan he had to marry his sister. Soon after, Adrianna and Ryan officially started dating, then three months later, Ryan proposed. The couple spent the weekend with both of their families in Kanab at a hot air balloon festival to celebrate Adrianna’s birthday. On the morning of her birthday, Adrianna and Ryan woke up early to find a spot to watch the balloons rise. Of course, Ryan had just the place in mind. “I thought nothing of it, until all of my siblings were out of sight and I was following Ryan to a lookout point. As soon as we got to the top, the hot air balloons were taking off and our families were there. When I saw the letters saying “Marry Me”, Ryan got down on one knee and popped the question. You could say my little brother knew what he was doing when he told me I had to marry Ryan,” Adrianna jokes. For their engagement photos, the couple’s session started at Birch Creek Golf Course, an obvious choice as the sport holds a special place in Ryan’s heart and Adrianna has learned to love it. “Golf will always be a huge part in our life so we figured it should also be a part of the happiest day of our lives as well,” notes the couple.

Olivia + Cameron

DEAD HORSE POINT

What started as neighbors living just a few doors down from one another evolved into a fully-fledged relationship. Cameron often saw a cute blonde when driving home before mustering up the courage to introduce himself. The encounter was one to remember as the two quickly became inseparable. Nearly a year later in October 2021, Cameron planned to take Olivia to his hometown in Nevada for a weekend filled with adventure. Toward the end of the trip, the couple made dinner reservations at a stunning restaurant overlooking Lake Tahoe. Upon arriving early, Cameron suggested walking along the pier for a closer view of the water. As they turned the corner, a glimpse of rose petals led to illuminated marquee letters that said, “Marry Me?” Imbued with emotion and excitement, Olivia, of course said “Yes” to the romantic proposal. For their bridals, Olivia and Cameron wandered into the dramatic desert landscape of sandstone cliffs and red rock canyons.

When Julia and Hunter went on a blind date in April 2021, neither of them were expecting to find their forever partner. After a family friend took it upon themselves to play matchmaker, the two agreed to meet in person. “We went on a walk around my neighborhood and then to Swig for sodas. I felt like I could talk to Hunter for hours,” Julia shares. The first date marked the beginning of their love story. Just seven months later, Hunter proposed at Mill Creek Waterfall, nestled in the Wasatch Mountains. Julia, of course, said “Yes.” The couple couldn’t wait to tie the knot and with the help of Allison Baddley, founder of La Fête Floral & Events, orchestrated the special day, their dream became a reality.

Since Julia and Hunter are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, their marriage was performed in the Draper Temple where a sealing ceremony took place. Following the intimate blessing, the newlyweds exchanged rings in front of 250 loved ones on the grounds of La Caille. With 22 acres of stunning gardens and picturesque surroundings, it seemed only fitting that the wedding aesthetic echoed a whimsical spring fête. A colorful array of delicate florals lined the aisle appearing as if they belonged to the natural setting. For their reception, Julia and Hunter embraced a secret garden party inspired atmosphere with an atrium greenhouse where lush tropical greenery and twinkle lights hung overhead. The bride and groom took a break from dancing to savor a slice of their four-tiered white cake decorated with soft pastel blooms.

Celia + Derick

Celia and Derick met on Myspace a few short months before Celia would graduate from high school. “Yes, we are older than we look,” Celia jokes. “His bio mentioned that he was attending college in the state that I was highly interested in, so I decided to accept his friend request because I had a few questions about the college where he was studying,” the bride shares. While Celia didn’t anticipate she would eventually marry Derick, the two began chatting and immediately clicked. After four years of dating, Derick proposed on Valentine’s Day. Although February 14th is practically synonymous with flowers and candy, Derick surprised Celia with a small pouch which held a box with a diamond ring inside. Like the proposal, their vow exchange was an intimate affair in the heart of red rock country at Capitol Reef National Park.

Accompanied by Kayla Bertagnolli Photography, Celia and Derick made a promise to each other in the presence of soaring cliffs, colored canyons, and sweeping vistas. True to her unwavering fashion style, Celia perfectly complemented the impressive landscape in a nontraditional pale blush gown from Leanne Marshall. The bride paired her look with handmade earrings inspired by the high desert and Western boots, both uniquely wild in their own way. Derick, too, appeared dapper in a tailored navy suit from Tailor Cooperative finished with a bolo tie made of Royston Ribbon turquoise and gold filled accents. Following the ceremony, the couple soaked up the scenery with a picnic featuring dark amber ale beer and sweet fruit pie freshly baked at the Gifford Homestead tucked along the cliffs of the National Park where an orchard of trees grew beside a running stream.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Try your best to communicate face to face if there are any conflicts. If you get nervous about how to say something, think it over and say it out loud when you are alone a few times. Practice what you want to say before the conversation. It is okay if you don’t say it the way you practiced.”

Tanvi + Sumanth

Tanvi and Sumanth met at the University of Utah while Tanvi was earning her master’s degree and Sumanth pursuing his doctorate. The two were formally introduced to each other through mutual friends which led to an adventurous outing hitting the slopes as a group. Afterall, the state is renowned for its world-class resorts and deep-powder skiing. As luck would have it Tanvi lost her wallet during the trip until Sumanth found it the following day and the rest, as they say, is history. Nearly three years later, Sumanth proposed at Stein Eriksen Lodge in Deer Valley as the couple dined in an Alpenglobe atop the deck of the mountain lodge overlooking the pristine winter scenery. Tanvi, of course, accepted and began the wedding planning process almost immediately. With Tanvi’s family traveling internationally from India to America their timeline was expedited. The florals incorporated the couple’s pastel aesthetic with a harmonious blend of garden roses, lilacs, delphiniums, forsythia branches and spray roses cascading down the arch, creating an impressive backdrop for their vows. A dear friend sang “Can’t Help Falling In Love” as Tanvi walked down the aisle with her twin sister by her side. Among their 50 guests in attendance, the bride and groom’s beloved Golden Retriever, Chai, stepped into his acclaimed role of fluffiest ring bearer even donning a formal tuxedo. Once the couple were pronounced husband and wife, Chai found himself and his tennis ball entangled in his mom’s veil. The result? An adorable moment that became a social media sensation. Following the Hallmark-like escapade, guests were escorted to the venue’s Great Hall for an indoor reception. There, Sumanth performed a surprise dance for Tanvi with the help of her bridesmaids. The couple cut into a playful two-tiered confection from Cake by Alessandra featuring classic piping and a mischievous pup figurine staged to appear as if he had taken a bite of the dessert. When the evening concluded, the newlyweds said farewell as their loved ones lined the exit for a sparkler and bubble machine send-off before being whisked away in a white 1964 vintage limousine.

When you think of New York City, New York, Times Square, Rockefeller Center, and Broadway often come to mind along with the bustling lifestyle of those who live there. In 2016, Adele and Derek met in a tried-and-true Midtown manner, over a business lunch. It wasn’t until they rekindled in the Hamptons later that summer that their romance really sparked. Four and a half years later, Derek proposed 31-stories up on the rooftop of the NoMad Hotel with views of the city’s soaring skyscrapers and Empire State Building. “While a few family members were aware before the proposal, we decided to refrain from telling anyone else for the night, so that we could really enjoy each other’s company and relish in the moment. We knew once we let the cat out of the bag, we would be on our phones and wanted to have time to ourselves before. This made the next morning having coffee, bagels, and mimosas while FaceTiming with our loved ones so fun!” the couple shares. On a Friday, Adele and Derek welcomed guests to a weekend-long destination affair where elevated elements of their way of life were revealed, starting with a hike and whiskey tasting at The Lodge at Blue Sky to honor the groom’s favorite activities. After a Western-themed rehearsal dinner on Friday evening which included an appearance at No Name Saloon, a historic bar located on Main Street in Park City, the main event took place on Saturday, August 6th.

To help execute the event, Adele and Derek turned to luxury planner, designer, and florist Rachael Ellen Events, who is known for her romantic and refined style. “Neither of us consider ourselves to be very creative or artistic, but we ended up loving the design process, especially building the invitation suite and day-of paper,” Adele says of the planning process. The bride and groom offered their 130 guest list a stunning first glimpse of the special day with an invitation suite full of intentional details designed by Gus & Ruby Letterpress.

The couple enlisted Adele’s brother to officiate the ceremony amongst the splendor of the Wasatch Mountain Range. Perched at the edge of lush, old-growth forests, and rugged sophistication, Adele and Derek exchanged personal vows that served as a reminder of what is most important to them. Once they were pronounced husband and wife, the newlyweds shared a first kiss and recessed up the aisle before making their grand entrance to a blissful rose petal toss and champagne toast. The couple honored Adele’s Japanese heritage through unique elements such as a bright palette of bridesmaids dresses to achieve a cherry blossom desired aesthetic and paper fans to guide guests to their seats.

Jordan and Ricky’s serendipitous love story began in the spring of 2018. When Jordan, a law student at the time, was in New York City, New York, for job interviews, she never imagined meeting her future husband on the trip. But, after a severe snowstorm impeded her flight home to Utah, Jordan was forced to extend her stay. From there, a friend insisted Jordan join her and her handsome English colleague who had recently moved to America’s Big Apple from London the summer before. A chance encounter over a dollar slice of pizza proved to have left a lasting impression as months later Jordan and Ricky rekindled their brief encounter on a proper date once Jordan permanently moved to NYC. As Ricky likes to say, he “scooped me up quick,” shares the bride. Fast forward two and a half years, Ricky had originally planned to propose during Thanksgiving since his mother would be arriving from the United Kingdom to meet Jordan’s parents for the first time; however, the global pandemic challenged the arrangement. Ricky, known for his elaborate plans and romantic gestures, put up quite the ruse for the April 24th proposal. “He said we were going to an outdoor concert that our friend was organizing in Brooklyn; he even created a fake concert flier, but the event was completely fabricated and just a ploy to get us on the ferry,” Jordan recalls. Instead, he popped the question on a ferry boat from Wall Street to Far Rockaway, the couple’s favored destination. While Jordan and Ricky chose to secretly elope, just the two of them at the iconic Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, they still fancied an unforgettable celebration with family and friends. On an adventurous summer day, their dream of a formal garden party wedding in the heart of the wild became a reality.

The couple worked alongside Laura Stagg of Forevermore Events to execute their vision from start to finish, including an itinerary for the weekend. “We wanted to create as seamless of a guest experience as we possibly could. From the first night at Under Canvas Zion, to saying goodbye at the farewell breakfast, we wanted people to feel like everything was taken care of and that they could just enjoy themselves,” explains the couple. As for the aesthetic of the actual wedding day, Jordan and Ricky encompassed a colorful floral palette as a nod to English garden parties often seen across the pond in Great Britain. With 110 guests traveling from all over the world, several of whom had never been to Utah, the bride and groom aspired to present a stunning black tie event in an exceptional desert setting. At the remote edge of Zion National Park, Jordan walked arm in arm with her father down the aisle toward Ricky as their loved ones basked in the spectacular surroundings of the Southwestern landscape.

The bride stunned in a custom ivory floral brocade Markarian gown featuring a fitted bodice, sweetheart neckline, and a full skirt with a three foot ruffled train. Jordan accessorized with a custom two-tier cathedral length veil with Chantilly lace trim at the front and vintage drop earrings. To complement her look, she held an assortment of seasonal blooms in shades of peach, pink, and yellow paired with an array of greenery. Jordan’s bridesmaids all sported mismatched dresses rather than one cohesive style, creating a truly unique bridal party ensemble.

Following the ceremony, guests moseyed over to cocktail hour when ominous clouds began to loom overhead. Subsequently, the sound of beeping phones alerted those in attendance that a flash flood warning was in full effect amongst the flashes of lightning and cracks of thunder. Without a moment’s hesitation, the newlywed’s friends and family leaped into action moving the original al fresco reception under the stars to an enclosed tent for functionality. “Everyone came together in a really beautiful way to save the day,” Jordan shares. If a sprinkle of rain serves as an omen of good luck, then Jordan and Ricky were showered with positivity.

What probably seemed like an eternity of waiting inside the property’s main house, the couple handled the obstacle with poise or as Jordan says, “together, with good humor, and the support of the people we love.” After sharing sips of champagne from a bottle of Dom Pérignon, Jordan and Ricky at last entered the reception where the love was felt far and wide. The festivities continued well through the evening with a secret after party nestled in the oak grove where a tree canopy was illuminated, a DJ spun tracks, and rich espresso martinis awaited. Jordan took the opportunity to change into a little white stunner by Markarian for the party portion of the night.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“The cliche is true, it will be the most perfect day, but it probably won’t be perfect in the way that you think it will be. Invest time up front in focusing on the little things, so that the lead up will feel less stressful. Then, at some point, just give over and know that it will be what it will be, which isn’t easy if you’re anxiety prone like me. Your energy sets the tone for the weekend and if you approach it with gratitude and love, I can assure you that it will come back to you in droves. And at the end of the day, the things that ‘go wrong’ just make for one hell of a story! Secondly, put yourself in your guests’ shoes and think about how you can guide them through the whole experience. This will make sure people are relaxed and can enjoy every aspect. Bite-sized information really helps because people don’t read the website!”

Megan and Ryan first met each other while attending high school in Utah. Little did they know that ten years later, Ryan would ask Megan to marry him. In March 2021, the couple drove to their favorite hidden gem in the mountains where Ryan got down on one knee and popped the question. For their engagement photos, Megan and Ryan frolicked among the rolling hills and wide open spaces of Tunnels Springs Park. As co-owner of the e-commerce clothing brand, The Foxy Kind, Megan was of course styled to a T, sporting three very different elevated outfits. So, it was no surprise the high fashion bride and her soon-to-be husband would host a wedding for the ages as planned by Fawn Events and photographed by Paige McKenzi.

WEDDING DAY

On August 27th, the couple returned to the mountains to say “I do” in an intimate setting with 47 of their closest friends and family. Megan’s bridal approach evoked timeless sophistication in a sculptural gown from Chosen By KYHA. From the softly scooped neckline with draping across the bodice and sleeves to the vintage Christian Dior pearl choker necklace and earrings, we are speechless. For his part, Ryan dressed in a heathered gray suit and solid skinny tie for the day.

Nestled in a quiet grove of towering Aspen trees, Megan walked down the aisle as harpist, Bridget Jackson, performed Shania Twain’s “From This Moment On.” “We wanted to have a modern romantic aesthetic with classic elements and tons of baby’s breath,” Megan says of the ceremony inspiration. Florist Braiden Taylor of Ivie Floral Co. delivered, creating a whimsical arch embellished in all-white blooms. Acrylic ghost chairs added a contemporary subtle twist to the overall design with its clean and modern silhouette. After the nuptials which were officiated by the bride’s grandfather, the newlyweds welcomed guests to dine at Riverhorse on Main for a low-lit reception. As one of the oldest and most distinguished restaurants in the city, the menu was sure to be outstanding. Megan and Ryan selected some of their favorite dishes, including center cut filet mignon with cabernet demi-glace and crispy prosciutto, macadamia nut encrusted halibut, and mouth-watering buffalo short rib. The two-tiered dessert from Sweet Cake Bake Shop oozed in flavor featuring vegan churro cake with brown sugar buttercream, cinnamon streusel, and warm cinnamon caramel syrup. From start to finish, the celebration was one to remember.

Morgan + Kenan

While Morgan and Kenan joke about meeting in a serendipitous romantic comedy-esque fashion, the couple in fact matched on Bumble. Nearly two years later, during their annual Christmas card photos, Kenan popped the question. “We do this every year, so I didn’t think too much of it, little did I know Kenan and my best friend were scheming a surprise proposal for months,” Morgan says. Halfway through the photoshoot, Kenan got down on one knee and asked Morgan to marry him. “It was the easiest ‘Yes’ ever,” she shares. As a wedding photographer, Morgan admits that it often feels like she’s seen it all, so going into the planning as a bride she knew exactly what she did not want. For their October 22nd nuptials, Morgan and Kenan transformed Studio 1918 with pops of color and an iconic lavender chapel structure as the backdrop. The result? A fabulous ‘90s disco inspired garden party complete with 90 guests and three furry friends.

The morning of the wedding, Morgan slipped into a oneof-a-kind gown featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline and billowy, tiered sleeves with whimsy details. “I had the amazing opportunity to design my own wedding dress with Natalie Wynn. I wanted something only I would ever have and she made it happen,” Morgan explains. To finish her look, the bride styled with celestial booties and a show stopping veil from Jane Rhyan. As for her bridesmaids, they sported an assortment of gowns in shades of fuchsia, sky blue, and pale pink. The ceremony décor focused on intentional yet impactful statements, from the mossy rose aisle runner to the fairytale focused altar; authenticity was at the heart of every decision. After sharing personal vows that were packed with sentimental emotion, the couple exchanged their first kiss as husband and wife. “Kenan’s vows were everyone’s favorite moment of the day! He has such a way with words and I’ve never heard anything sweeter or more genuine in my life. There wasn’t a dry eye in the entire venue,” the bride shares. Come dinner, guests enjoyed a flavorful feast of Mexican cuisine. Hor d’oeuvers included esquites, chips, salsa and guacamole. The main course, you guessed it, street tacos and tamales. At the classic cake-cutting tradition, Morgan and Kenan deviated from the norm with not one, but three vintage confections topped with maraschino cherries.
