Welcome to Wyoming! For this year’s annual edition of RMB Wyoming, we wanted to capture all the beauty you can find in this great state, from large weddings to sweet and nature-inspired elopements. This state is filled with so much more than meets the eye, and it was our mission to find all those hidden gems for you to use for your wedding.
rene tate photography
We spent many hours on the road traveling all over to create some gorgeous looks, and learned a lot about the vast potential Wyoming has. The Snowy Range Ski Area has stellar views and is a short drive from Laramie! With rolling hills, bright evergreens and a river meandering throughout the property, its a hidden gem! In Casper, we were so excited to discover Haven, a modern art gallery that played host to a modern wedding look that blends natural elements and an industrial style seamlessly. We knew Jackson was a special place already, but of course, it exceeded all of our expectations. From a rich and romantic Get The Look at Snow King Resort, to a summertime Rehearsal Dinner at Q Roadhouse, sweetly paired with ice cream from Sugar Shack, we fell in love with Jackson all over again. At Rocky Mountain Bride, we are so honored and excited to be a part of your love story and wedding. From our print magazines to amazing online inspiration, we strive to bring you the best of Rocky Mountain weddings!

AndreaJulyand2nd Patrick Laramie River Overlook “Our love was discovered in the mountains, and in the Snowy Range it was affirmed as we committed our lives to each other in the presence of our four closest friends. The day was perfect. Every bride says that, I’m sure, but I’m not every bride. The day was kept a secret and even as I excitedly told my best friend about the surprise elopement, she responded, ‘You had a jumpsuit and a mustache in your wedding - your two favorite things. You must be so proud.’ They say every girl dreams of her wedding day. I don’t know if that was ever true for me, but as I stood in front of my best friend, overlooking the Laramie River, with a backdrop that seemed out of a painting and feeling like a goddess, ‘dream’ was the only word I could think of. It was too beautiful to feel real.”

Abigail & Samuel jackson
heather nan photography
Abigail and Samuel met at a local restaurant through mutual friends. Although it wasn’t love at first sight, they both had a feeling that they had met someone special. A few weeks later, Samuel asked Abigail out to a movie where there were two options playing on the same night; one was about kayaking and the other was about chair design. When the pair agreed to see the chair design flick, Abigail knew Samuel was a keeper! He made her laugh the entire night and hasn’t stopped since. The sweet couple shared their love and laughter with family and friends on September 19th.

The Theme: Abigail and Samuel designed their wedding
around the beauty of Jackson, with a natural feel and fun pops of pattern in the reception. They chose a color palette of white, gray, and natural hues to create the look.
The Dress: Abigail stunned in a lace Tara Keely dress. “When I found my dress after just a day of looking, I knew it was the one. I felt comfortable, unique and happy in it. In all the other dresses I tried on, I felt like I was playing ‘dress up’, but when I put this one on, I felt like the best version of myself and knew it was the dress I wanted to get married in!” The Flowers: The flowers kept in theme with the soft
and natural color palette of white and gray. Lush greenery was complemented with bundles of white flowers like baby’s breath, tulips and hydrangeas.

Tara & Phillip teton village
jm photography
Tara and Phillip were set up by a pair of their married friends. After a year of hearing that they needed to meet each other, they finally decided to appease their loving friends… and good thing they did - turns out they were made for each other! Phillip proposed on a gorgeous summer day when they went to a local festival for some fun.Tara heard an airplane approaching and noticed it had a banner trailing behind it, curious as to what it said, she waited for the banner to get closer and was completely surprised by its message of “Tara, will you marry me? Love Phillip.” As she looked down from the sky, Phillip kneeled beside her, ring in hand. Surrounded in a park full of cheering strangers,Tara said yes! The duo celebrated their love with close family and friends on June 19th.

The Theme: Tara and Phillip let the breathtaking natural beauty of
Grand Teton National Park be their wedding theme. They wanted a more intimate wedding, with the guest list consisting of just the couple’s immediate families. They kept their color palette simple with tans and creams, accented with a pop of pink that coordinated with the rustic and natural feel of the wedding.
The Dress: “I fell in love with my dress the moment I tried it on. It was made of cream lace with a vintage feel. I finished it off with a champagne satin sash embellished with crystals and my trusty cowboy boots.”
The Flowers: Flowers by Chloe created beautiful arrangements using
peonies, lisianthus, ranunculus, foxglove and geraniums. The creations were the perfect complement to the rustic theme of the wedding!
“The regal and spectacular Teton Mountains as our backdrop while having our families be there to celebrate with us and be part of one of the most important days of our lives.”

Mr. and Mrs. Moment: “Our early morning photo
session the day after our wedding with just the two of us. We woke up before the sun, donned our wedding attire, and headed back out to the park where we were married with our photographer to capture a few shots with the amazing sunrise over the mountains. It was a quiet, crisp, stunning morning and so worth getting up extra early for!”
The Food: Hotel Terra catered the couple’s wedding and
served a fantastic three-course plated dinner. They started off with a light salad of baby spinach, applewood bacon, goat cheese and shaved red onion topped with a mustard vinaigrette. Guests had a choice of delicious, rustic-inspired pairings. Painted Hills Wyoming Angus Beef filet, roasted free range chicken breast, or baked manicotti were options that were sure to delight!
The Sweets: Tara and Phillip served carrot cake (their
favorite cake!) frosted with a salted caramel, cream cheese buttercream and toasted pecans, along with chocolate and vanilla cupcakes.
Advice for RMB Brides: “When you wake up on the morning of your wedding day, remind yourself to relax, take it all in, and savor every moment. Leave no room for stress; you’ve already done all of the hard work and planning.Today is a day for pure joy and happiness!” Three Words: Rustic, Romantic and Natural

Myca & Nathan sheridan
christian gideon photography
Myca and Nathan’s love story took flight when Myca was racing to her gate at Denver International Airport. After realizing there was some time to grab coffee and breakfast, she took an immediate u-turn and ran right smack into a tall, handsome man. He helped steady her as she apologized profusely, and then dashed off in embarrassment. Myca arrived just in time to board her flight and realized that the guy who caught her earlier was also on her flight! She boarded first, took her seat and Nathan came waltzing down the aisle.Their eyes met, and he took the seat beside her. A conversation flowed easily between the two and both felt a sense of excitement until they were interrupted by another passenger. Turns out Nathan was completely dazzled by her smile and took the wrong seat. Nathan reluctantly headed back to his seat. Myca contemplated whether or not she was the type of girl to pass a note to a stranger, but before she could decide, Nathan stood up with a sparkle in his eye and asked “I was really enjoying our conversation and I’m not ready for it to be over. If I can get the other passengers to swap seats, will you come sit next to me?” Of course Myca agreed and they got to know each other during the rest of the flight. They kept in touch and maintained a relationship with 2,142 miles between them. When Myca realized that the life they both dreamed of would be located in the Great West, she made the leap and moved! Nathan proposed one evening before Christmas in the glow of the decorated tree that they picked out together. The couple planned a private family ceremony on June 25th.

real wedding With a small party, things were kept authentic and simple. “We wanted the natural surroundings in the Big Horn Mountains to shine and didn’t try to compete. I picked the colors based on my favorite flowers that were in season that week. We ended up with shades and textures in green, dark red and a little deep purple.”
The Theme:
Myca radiated in the Ava Maxi Dress by BHLDN. “I loved the simple lines, classic look and button closure in the back. I wanted something easy and light that I could climb a mountain in.The morning of the wedding, we met Christian for breakfast and then he drove us to our first look location. I changed on the side of the mountain highway into my dress in a swarm of mosquitoes. Without thinking, I smashed the first one that landed on me - right on the front of my dress! Thankfully, it hadn’t eaten anyone for breakfast yet and didn’t leave a big mark.”
The Dress:
“Confession: I spent more on my wedding flowers than my entire wedding wardrobe. I had a broad idea of what I wanted my bouquet(s) to look like before the wedding. I think one word can appropriately define the flowers I arranged for our day Wild. I picked the things that were peak for the end of June and trusted my wholesaler to send the best product available - Peonies, roses, dark scabiosa and eucalyptus. I cut twisty and long branches from the tree in my front yard and foraged a little rose for Nathan’s boutonnière - shhhh, don’t tell the neighbors. Our photographer came over the day before the wedding to visit and hang out while I played with flowers and my sisters baked pies for our wedding lunch. I made two bouquets - one for our hiking and wood tromping and a more delicate one full of peonies for our ceremony. A collection of smaller arrangements lined our table at lunch.”
The Floral:
The Favorite Detail: “Carrying my wild and crazy bouquet while hiking up the mountain with my love, and having it captured on camera!”
“Hiking our favorite spot on a gorgeous summer morning. The first time I visited Nathan in Wyoming, he took me on a day long tour of his favorite places in the Big Horn Mountains. Our first stop was Steamboat Point and a short (but steep) hike to a gorgeous vista. It was early summer and the hillside was absolutely covered by millions of wild flowers. It was the most magical and stunning sight I had ever seen. That was the day Wyoming stole my heart, and it was only fitting that we officially started our life together as Mr. and Mrs. in a place so full of great memories together.”
Mr and Mrs Moment:
“Make the day yours! We decided to break the ‘wedding box’ and both of us are so glad we had the freedom to make the day just what we wanted. We planned our perfect morning - breakfast at our favorite cafe, followed by exploring and hiking in the mountains we love, and a great meal with our family - it’s a dream day that happened to also be our wedding day. Choose the most important things and don’t sweat the small stuff.”

Lexie & Chris big horn
kokoro photography
Lexie and Christopher both grew up in Wyoming but didn’t actually meet until Chris’ last semester of college due to his busy football schedule. When they finally had a chance to go on a date, they hit it off immediately! After college, Chris moved to Florida to train and prepare for the NFL draft, while Lexie stayed at University of Wyoming to finish her Bachelor’s degree. The duo continued their long distance relationship. She would fly out to visit him and he’d come stay in Wyoming during the off-season. For Christmas, the two ended up giving each other the same gift - Justin Timberlake tickets! They drove down to Denver for the concert and decided to make a fabulous date of it! While they were getting ready, Chris suggested they visit the Clock Tower Events venue on the way to dinner. As it turns out, he had rented the Clock Tower, and once they got to the top, music started playing, there were rose petals scattered on the ground and a table with champagne and chocolate overlooking the city of Denver at sunset. As two photographers captured the moment, Chris got down on one knee and asked Lexi to marry him! On a gorgeous June 27th, the lovebirds celebrated their love story with friends and family.

The Dress: “My dress was a custom Crown Couture
gown designed and made by my friend Gaspar Cruz. Gaspar is someone that I met through pageants, and he quickly became a close friend. He designed two beautiful gowns for me at Miss America and did an incredible job designing my wedding gown as well! The gown was French lace with delicate pearl beaded accents. The gown also had long sleeves, which made it even more unique and beautiful. It had a deep V cut in the back, as well as a train.”

The Flowers: The bride’s flowers were a colorful

The bridesmaids had bouquets of baby’s breath and white roses. Lexie totally trusted the creative eye of DonnaJo, of Little Willow Traders, so she sent her ideas and let her create! She loved everything created for her and Chris’ wedding day!
The Food: The newlyweds had a buffet-style dinner, which
made things easy and delicious! Kiwi Katering prepared all the amazing food - there was brisket, a chicken dish and yummy sides. “All the food had a unique, fresh, creative twist.” “My ‘something borrowed’ was a beautiful antique ring from my mother. It was sentimental and special.”

Your day goes by so fast, enjoy it! Wedding planning can be stressful, but do what works for you and your groom. Make it your own and understand that something you planned will probably not go according to plan. Meghan and Andrew met for lunch, and she left thinking “That is the nicest, most kind-hearted soul. I want to come home to a man like that each night.” Andrew’s list of business contacts arrived that night and included on the list was his mom with a * next to her name, saying “Call this person first. She’s my mom and she’s expecting your call.” A week later, Meghan and Andrew’s mom, Kathleen, met for lunch. In addition to talking business, Kathleen shared a lot about Andrew, which caused Meg to realize what a humble and incredible man Andrew was. Towards the end of their lunch, Meghan asked her last question:“What three pieces of advice could you offer me as I embark on this big work project?” Kathleen responded with “Number one: Date my son.” Meg was delighted at this and said,“Well tell him to call me!” And the rest is history! Meghan was thrilled to be married in her hometown of Cheyenne, in the same church her parents were married in 30 years ago - by the same priest, too! The two became Mr. and Mrs. on a bright, blue-skied July 2nd. Their wedding day was filled with family, friends and an abundance of love!

The Theme:
Meghan and Andrew planned a classic and elegant wedding with touches of sparkle and fun! She used a color palette of blush, ivory and sage to create her perfect wedding day look!
The Flowers: Meghan wanted flowers that were soft and
sweet-looking, so she chose a mix of ivory and cream peonies and hydrangeas, accented with blush garden roses and sage accents for her bouquet. Their centerpieces included a mix of hydrangeas, lilies, freesia and sage accents, with champagne-colored stones in the bottom of the centerpiece vases to add a little shimmer. The ballroom was adorned with potted trees with little white lights sparkled in each corner, giving it a “secret garden” feel.
The Dress: “The story behind my dress is a fun one: my mom
came out to Atlanta to shop for a dress with me, and I initially thought I wanted something lace. We went to five different places looking at almost exclusively lace dresses, and at the last place, I found (what I thought would be) my dress. I wanted to sleep on it, so we held off on ordering, and it wasn’t until the day my mom was headed back to Wyoming that I said, ‘Mom, I think that lace dress is not the dress after all.’ My mom’s flight was departing in about two hours, but I asked if we could squeeze in a quick trip to Bridals by Lori (where we had actually canceled our appointment because I was so excited about the lace dress I found at another place), and she said, “Let’s do it!” We had all of 15 minutes to peruse the selections at Bridals by Lori. When I saw my dress on the hanger, I thought, ‘That’s a cool dress! It’s so different than anything else I’ve seen - I want to try that!’ With the dress on, I looked at my mom with tears in my eyes - only to see that she had tears in hers - and we both said, ‘This is the one!’ Meghan drove her mom straight to the airport and went back later that evening to get measured!
The Favorite Detail: Meghan and Andrew share the same favorite detail! “As soon as we got engaged, I knew I wanted to surprise Andrew by performing a song I’d written for him. Originally, I thought I would play the piano or guitar and sing, but when we booked the band, I thought, ‘I wonder if I could have the band learn my song!’ The band was amazing and made my dream a complete reality. I sent them a chord chart and scratch track a few months before the wedding, and we were able to coordinate a FaceTime rehearsal, as well as a live run-through on our actual wedding day. At the reception, after the toasts were complete one of the band members said, ‘Meg and Andrew, someone wants to make a very special tribute to you; Please pull your chairs to the center of the dance floor.’ I acted like I had no idea what was going on, but then the band leader handed me a microphone, the band started playing my song, and I sang (and rapped) to my man! It was an absolute blast and a total surprise for not only Andrew, but everyone in the room - especially when I broke into the rap!”

The Food: The couple loved their wedding menu from Little
America! As an appetizer, guests enjoyed buffalo chicken flatbread, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, bruschetta and mozzarella skewers. Dinner was a choice of grilled salmon with rice and vegetables, or a filet with mashed potatoes and vegetables, both served with a spinach salad of strawberries, candied pecans, blue cheese and balsamic vinaigrette.
The Sweets: Meghan and Andrew chose a five-tier
champagne cake with butter cream frosting on the outside and vanilla and raspberry fillings on the inside, along with delightful chocolate and vanilla pot de cremes!
The Mr and Mrs Moment: Meghan and Andrew shared with us that their two favorite Mr. and Mrs. moments were when they walked out of the church as husband and wife, and when she sang to Andrew!

Advice for RMB Brides: Meghan’s top three tips are: 1. When you get outside the church or after walking down the aisle at the end of the ceremony, look at each other and say “We are married!” 2. Take mental snapshots throughout the day - little pauses where you really stop, look around and fully take in the details. 3. Stay together during the reception. Someone gave Andrew and I this advice, and we are so glad we took it, because it’s easy to get separated with so many guests to say hello to, but if you stick together, you’ll get to experience the wedding as a couple - not individually.
Three Words: Joyful, Profound and FUN!

Erin & Garrison jackson
hannah hardaway
Erin and Garrison had a whirlwind romance; the kind you see in movies with a happy ending. They met when Erin was on a ski trip visiting a friend in Jackson Hole. Her friend was roommates with Garrison, and she spent the whole week skiing with them. They had so much in common, including the fact that they were both from Washington. After the trip, they parted ways and Erin wondered if she’d ever see him again; Garrison called her three weeks later and told her that he was headed back to Washington too! From there, the relationship blossomed. On a ski trip back to Jackson, Garrison proposed to Erin as he rode up to her on a snowboard, with all of their friends watching. Everybody took the gondola up and celebrated with beers at the top. The sweethearts said ‘I Do’ with loved ones on a snowy day on January 30th.

The Theme: Erin and Garrison designed their lovely day as a rustic
and romantic winter wonderland. The bride, bridesmaids and moms wore fur to complement the theme! The feel of the wedding was elevated with a natural color scheme to enhance the backdrop of the Tetons. Black and gold were also used to accent the neutral palette.
The Dress: Erin glowed in her ‘Chloe’ dress by Rue De Seine - it
had long crocheted lace sleeves and a vintage, Boho feel. “I saw this dress on Instagram and fell in love instantly. I bought it from Dress Theory in Seattle. It was the first dress I tried on and I knew it was the one. The romantic Boho style fits my personality.” “Jackson Hole Flower Company did an amazing job with the flowers! I am really into flowers and gardening, and the owner Sue and I worked together going back and forth with ideas.” White flowers with green accents tied into the natural feel of the wedding. Champagne spray roses, anemone, veronica, ranunculus, dusty miller, and hydrangeas were all part of the floral design. Erin’s floral crown of champagne roses, white wax flower and greenery harmonized with the wedding day look.
The Flowers:

The First Dance: The pair danced to a great classic “What a Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong. The Food: “We wanted to stick to local Wyoming cuisine
that would be in season in January. We served buffalo Swedish meatballs and hot buttered rums following the cold outdoor ceremony to warm people up. We served elk chops, chicken for the non-elk chop eaters and gnocchi for the vegetarians, mixed green salad, butternut squash and grilled artichoke hearts, mashed potatoes and fresh biscuits with honey butter.”
The Sweets: The savory meal ended with a variety of delightful petit fours from Atelier Ortega.
The Favorite Detail: “I loved the flowers and the
antlers on the tables. The antlers were a family friends collection that he had found hunting, so it seemed very appropriate and fit with the Jackson Hole style! We hung grapevine balls with string lights on them on the deck. It looked magical with the snow coming down during the ceremony.”
Mr. and Mrs. Moment: “Riding up the tram the next day as husband and wife!”

Advice for RMB Brides: “Follow your wedding vision and do your planning. When the day comes, you’ve already done all the hard work and planning, so just enjoy it, things are going to go how they’re going to go, and some things are out of your control, so just soak up every second and live in the moment. I had a zen feeling come over me on my wedding day. I was surprisingly calm because I knew all I had to do was show up and marry the love of my life!” Three Words: Snowy, Romantic, Mountain-esque!

“The best wedding planning advice I can give to other brides, is to be original and follow your heart. I took my time choosing details for our wedding that would be sentimental to us and would reflect who Dillon and I are as a couple. I wanted to be able to look back on our wedding day and remember how special it was, and that certain elements could not be duplicated. For example, my dress was made by my grandmother for my mother to wear in her wedding. She altered it and changed the sleeve style for me to wear. Elements such as that in your wedding are priceless and unforgettable.

“Hair is the only canvas that grows.” I do my best to model my work by that statement everyday. I like to think of cutting as sculpting and coloring as painting. Having a strong artistic background from photography to painting and drawing, hair is my creative outlet. I have the best job. I get to be creative and make people feel good about themselves and occasionally, be apart of a day they will remember forever.

Each designer beautifully crafted rustic designs, home accents, furniture and so much more! Looking for rustic and vintage rentals for your wedding day? The Bent and Rusty is your goto for rustic decor and wedding arches. They are always adding to their collection, and are excited to help add a little rustic touch to your wedding day design!
Vibrant and joyful wedding photography for the fiercely in love! I strive to deliver wedding photos that are romantic, emotional, and that capture the beauty of our surroundings. I believe in building relationships with my couples that will hopefully last long after that final spin on the dance floor. Your wedding photos should be enjoyable and stress-free. Therefore, all wedding packages include comprehensive coverage and two photographers to capture all of those special moments. In 10 years, you won’t remember what the cake tasted like, what song brought everyone to the dance floor, or what flowers were in your bouquet...but your wedding photos will last a lifetime. I cannot wait to tell your love story through my images!
