Hello Darling! Perspective is everything. Learning to see a place so familiar through the eyes of someone else is a complete rediscovery. Unearthing beautiful things that were hiding in plain sight, and falling in love all over again with what you once knew is such an exciting feeling. For this Wyoming issue, we rediscovered this breathtaking state through the creative eyes of our amazing Editor, Chelsea! As a Casper native, her roots have grown deep in love for Wyoming, and it showed through her vision and direction for this magazine. Locations and vendors were selected through her dreams for the state and the local community. It gave me a new, fresh perspective that I am so grateful for! Her dedication and love has made this Wyoming magazine one of the best yet and we couldn’t be more excited to share it with you! The real weddings selected all shared a common theme of unique locations and heart-melting love stories. From Jackson Hole destination weddings to downtown Cheyenne soirées and even a suprise winter proposal, each story showcases true love celebrated in Wyoming. In search of design inspiration? For those wanting to blend modern with the mountains, the Hogadon Basin Lodge features smoky, matte black accents popped with burgundies and golds that come alive against the Casper Mountain backdrop. Tap into summer with the fresh, pastel colors of the Born in a Barn look or find new inspiration in neutrals with our Jackson Hole National Museum of Wildlife Art collaboration! No matter your fancy, we have you covered! We at RMB are so honored and excited to help be a part of your wedding day planning. From inspiration to finding your perfect vendors through our Gem Collective, and all the Instagram stories of the team along the way, we love that we can help be a part of your Wyoming love story!

S TO RY “Blake and I chose to get married on Snowy Range because, even though I am a Cheyenne native, I grew up fishing, camping and exploring the local mountain. Blake also grew up in the small mountain community of Drummond, MT so the location seemed like the perfect place for our families to come together. The two of us incorporated our unique story, faith and love of music into every aspect of our wedding day. We used our Wyoming and Montana backgrounds as inspiration for our rustic, old country and mountain themed celebration. Family friends even escorted my dad and I in a horse drawn carriage to our ceremony. The whole experience was like the modern day western of my dreams. - Kaci and Blake, married June 17th Liz Osban Photography

The Menu
Mediterranean Spiced Rack of Lamb 1 rack of good quality lamb *Chef Tip: Ask your butcher to “french” the bones for you 1 tbsp. ground cumin 1 tbsp. ground coriander 2 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary 1 tbsp Aleppo pepper or red pepper flakes 2 tbsp. Kosher salt 2 tbsp. canola oil 1 clove garlic, finely chopped 1 cup good quality red wine 1 cup chicken stock Season the lamb evenly with coriander, cumin, rosemary, salt and Aleppo pepper and marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Two hours before cooking, set the lamb out to come up to room temperature. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Place a cast iron or heavy bottomed pan on medium-high and coat with the oil. Place the lamb fat side down when the pan is hot but not smoking. Once the lamb has browned, turn over and put into the oven. Cook for 15 minutes or until your meat thermometer in the thickest part of the lamb reads 120 for rare or 130 for medium rare. Allow the lamb to rest out on a cutting board while you prepare the sauce, 10-15 minutes. Bring the pan with all its fats and seasoning back to the stovetop over medium-high heat. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant. Deglaze with 1 cup of red wine and 1 cup of chicken stock. Scrape the browned bits from the bottom of the pan and allow the juices to reduce by half. Skim fat as needed. Finish with salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Slice into individual chops and drizzle with sauce.
Carrot and Parsnip Puree 2 carrots, peeled and chopped into 1⁄2” discs 2 parsnips, peeled and chopped into 1⁄2” discs 1 clove garlic 2 tbsp. extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) Bring a medium sized pot of salted water to a boil. Add carrots, parsnips, garlic and reduce heat to a simmer. Cook for roughly 15 minutes until tender. Scoop cooked vegetables into a blender or food processor with ¼ cup of cooking liquid and the EVOO. Blend on high, leaving the lid cracked to allow steam to escape. If needed, add more cooking liquid to thin out and keep the blender moving. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
G r i l l e d Ve g e t a b l e Te r r i n e *For the adventurous home chef - Do this at least 1 day if not 2 before serving 4 Japanese eggplants 6 summer squash 6 zucchini 3 yams, peeled 4 sweet onions 8 red and yellow peppers roughly 1 cup extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) Shave the squash, zucchini, eggplant and yams into thin ribbons, about a 1/8 of an inch thick. Brush with EVOO, season with salt and pepper and grill for 1 minute per side until they are soft and have light grill marks. You want them to soften enough to release their juices, but not become soggy. Cut the onions into discs, season and grill until charred. Once they cool, cut them in half so they become long ribbons. Roast the red peppers over an open flame until they blacken, then remove the skin, halve and seed. Once all of the elements are ready, choose a terrine dish, a bread loaf tin will work well, and line with Saran Wrap. Leave enough excess to wrap around the vegetables once they’ve been laid down. Layer the vegetables in the terrine lengthwise 1-2 strips of each thick, pressing each layer into the corners as you go. The first layer should be yams, then squash, onion, zucchini, peppers and eggplant, repeating that order until the vegetables are an inch above the pan or you run out, whichever comes first. Wrap with the remaining plastic, place into a brownie (to catch liquid as it presses overnight) place a bread pan with a few cans from your pantry for weight on top, and put in the refrigerator until you plan to serve. To serve, remove from the terrine by turning it over onto a cutting board. Remove the plastic and cut like a loaf of bread. rocky mountain bride wyoming

Molly + Shane cheyenne
cassie madden photography
Molly and Shane first crossed paths at Northern Colorado Cowboy Church. At first they didn’t talk much as Shane was very quiet. However, it didn’t take long for the pair, or their friends and family, to see a special spark between the two of them. In 2016, Molly landed a job on a dude ranch near Granby taking her away from home for the summer. While she was away, she received a surprise Facebook message from Shane asking her on a date. The two packed a picnic and spent the day on horseback. The rest is history! Six months later, Molly and one of her girlfriends planned a spring shopping day in Fort Collins. The boys met up with them after to take the dogs for a walk. As the couple walked along the open space, Shane turned Molly around and pulled the bible she had first gifted him from his backpack. Bookmarked, with a stunning ring, was Ephesians 5:25., “Husbands, love your wives just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” As Molly’s eyes sparkled, Shane got down on one knee and asked Molly to spend the rest of her life with him. In awe, she said, “Yes!” They planned an elevated western wedding for October 1st at the Wyoming Hereford Ranch outside of Cheyenne.

white petals and cowhides Molly envisioned an elegant and romantic theme for her wedding day while staying true to their western roots. She incorporated a neutral color palette, soft blooms and authentic western decor to complete her look.
expect the unexpected “Due to harsh weather and unexpected rain, we brought the ceremony inside last minute. Our wedding party took turns holding a sheet around me in the back of the venue so neither our guests or Shane could see me in my dress before the ceremony. My mom was feeding us protein bars as we shuffled around and cared to our sore arms! It was in that moment that I stopped stressing about the logistics and enjoyed laughing hysterically with the people we love the most.

On Easter weekend, both of their families came out to assist in wedding dress shopping and custom decor crafting. Jenny + Tanner
janelle rose photography
cheyenne
Jenny and Tanner came together through a mutual friend. After meeting for the first time, Tanner knew there was something special about Jenny. He asked her out. Although he was convinced she wasn’t going to show up to their first date, the two hit it off immediately. They adored spending time with one another and were crazy about each other’s families. Over time both Jenny and Tanner knew they wanted to spend the rest of their lives together as husband and wife. In October of 2016 Jenny, Tanner and both their families took a trip out to Washington D.C. Tanner’s cousin was living out East at the time, and he saw it as a perfect opportunity to pop the question. That night the group got ready for dinner and made plans to meet at Tanner’s cousin’s apartment - with the most beautiful rooftop patio. Upon arrival, the couple was greeted by a patio adorned with abundant candlelight, chocolate covered strawberries and champagne. To Jenny’s surprise, Tanner dropped to his knee. Of course, she agreed! The two planned a sophisticated and fashion-forward wedding on a beautiful winter day in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Jai + Tyler casper
potter sorensen wedding photography
Jai and Tyler’s paths first crossed in high school. They started off as friends, but eventually fell in love several years later after spending a summer back home together. For the couple’s first Christmas, Jai gifted Tyler a memory journal filled with photographs, messages and past memories. Her original intention was to update the journal as time passed, but, as busy life goes, she never got around to it. Five years later, Tyler planned a romantic getaway in Southern California for the two of them. After their homecoming, on Christmas Eve, Tyler regifted the journal back to Jai which he completed. As she flipped through page after page, Tyler got down on one knee and asked Jai to be his wife. In awe, she said, “Yes!” Turns out Tyler had the ring ready during their trip but decided to wait to pop the question until they were back home to celebrate with their families over the holidays. The couple planned a colorful celebration for July 29th at Jai’s parent’s home at the base of Casper Mountain.

Anastasia + Sean bighorn mountains
bhp imaging
In October of 2009, Anastasia and Sean met at the infamous Buckhorn Bar in Laramie. Anastasia had just celebrated her 21st birthday with friends and family and was looking forward to a relaxing homecoming, but the universe had other plans! Her girlfriend talked her into just one more night out and even offered to pay for all of her drinks. Unable to pass up the offer, the girls headed downtown to the historic saloon. As Anastasia and her friend made their way up to the bar, Sean spotted her in a busy crowd and immediately approached her. The two spent the rest of the night talking and laughing which quickly turned into exchanged numbers, dinner plans and eventually, love. The couple reveled through long distance, countless moves, and career changes. However, Anastasia and Sean eventually settled back in where it all started in that small Wyoming town. In May of 2016, Sean was assigned a project up North, and knowing it was Anastasia’s dream to explore Alaska, Sean and her parents surprised Anastasia with a plane ticket to join him! Upon her arrival, they drove to Seward to hike Kenai Fjords National Park. Towards the end of their adventure, at the very bottom of a glacier, Sean got down on one knee and asked Anastasia to be his wife. Completely surprised, she said, “Yes! The pair planned a dreamy, outdoor celebration surrounded by loved ones in the Bighorn Mountains on June 10th.

a love meant for the mountains “I grew up at the base of the Bighorn Mountains, and some of my most treasured memories are kept there: camping trips with my family, learning to fish with my grandpa and endless hikes with my closest friends. My parents have since relocated out of state, yet my heart often aches for the mountains that I know and love. I knew I would always get married in the Bighorns in early summer. A friend of ours recommended Pine Island - a beautiful, group campground that The Tongue River flows through. However, she did warn us that it tends to book far in advance. Sean and I immediately jumped online to check the availability. Every weekend from June to September was reserved - except the weekend of June 10th! It was fate how everything aligned perfectly.”
among the wildflowers Anastasia and Sean’s ceremony was a dream. The couple-to-be and their guests were surrounded by towering pine trees, blooming wildflowers and a flowing river powered by the summer season’s runoff. As the bride walked down the aisle, their officiant played the banjo and it began to lightly rain. Their first moments as husband and wife were pure magic and everything they had envisioned for their wedding day.

woodwork and wed Luckily for Anastasia and all of her wild craft ideas, Sean agreed to making all of their benches and tables for the wedding. The lumber they used was a wedding gift from Sean’s Dad. They spent weekends together cutting, sanding and staining the pieces before the big day. Although a lot of hard work and time was put into the project, it was so worth it at the end. The handcrafted tables and benches blended effortlessly with the natural beauty of the scenery. The couple even offered the pieces to their guests to take home!
rock out, dad!
“Of course, my dad joined our wedding band, Elk Tongue, for a few songs! He’s a musician, and I grew up going to his shows. Naturally he broke into a guitar solo and killed it so I got up to join in the fun and dance alongside him. We had so much fun together in that moment, and our guests went crazy. It’s something I will treasure forever - he’s the best!”

Livia + Bryan ja c k s o n h o l e
jett walker photography
Livia and Bryan met through work, specifically at a training course in Chicago. It was Livia’s first day and Bryan just so happened to be the instructor. Immediately following the training, they spent two weeks together on a work trip in California. They were strictly friends, until Bryan returned home to New York and quickly realized Livia was the one. He did everything he could to court Livia from NY. However, she was hesitant to start a long distance relationship. So Bryan took a chance on love and moved out to Chicago to be with Livia three months later. It’s true when you know, you know - the couple fell even more in love and quickly. A few years later, on a Friday afternoon, Brian made all of Livia’s proposal dreams come true. He got down on one knee, with a ring in his hand, in front of the Buckingham Fountain in Chicago. Better yet, he flew in all of her family and friends to witness the special moment. The two planned a sophisticated destination wedding in Jackson Hole on June 24th.

together under the tetons Livia always joked that she knew she would be married in Jackson, even before she locked down a groom. Her mother was raised just outside of Jackson, and her parents spend part of the year on the other side of the Tetons in Victor, ID. The area has always had a special place in Livia’s heart. When it came down to choosing a destination for their union, the couple knew some of their family and friends would have to travel to join them no matter what.. So why not get hitched in one of the most beautiful places on earth!
a mother’s touch
Livia’s amazingly talented mother not only created the wedding invitations by hand, but she designed the golf themed escort cards - small touches Livia and Bryan will never forget!

Curated by Magnolia Ranch and Hitched, the design blends rich tones of gold, matte black, dusty rose and taupe that boldly hold their own against the stunning landscape. Antlers woven into the table give nod to the National Elk Refuge while metal, bistro chairs and a thoughtful menu crafted by the museum’s signature restaurant, Palate, reinforces the modern, art inspiration.

Kate + Evan
erin wheat photography
ja c k s o n h o l e
Kate and Evan moved into their apartment complex at the same time and met walking their dogs around the neighborhood. Both were single and dating other people at the time, so they became friends. Their friends, however, saw the connection immediately! The two enjoyed each other’s company so much that they decided to give it a shot about a year later. Their relationship began slowly, but with timing and fate in their favor they fell in love. In May of 2017, Kate and Evan escaped to the British Virgin Islands for a paradise getaway. The couple rented a boat for a day and hired a captain to take them around the open waters. That afternoon the captain anchored while Kate and Evan jumped in and swam to the closest private beach. Just as they reached the sandy shore, Kate wiped the sunscreen from her eyes only to find Evan down on one knee. Completely surprised and swept off her feet, Kate said, “yes”! They planned an intimate and romantic elopement, just the two of them, in Jackson for late February 2018.

the west is calling “We knew we wanted to elope, just the two of us, out West. It made the most sense! Kate and I are avid skiers back East, and we’ve always dreamed of moving to a small, charming ski town. We turned our desire for adventure and belonging into inspiration for our wedding. Jackson easily checked all boxes for us. From the pristine outdoors and roaming wildlife to the friendly community, the small Wyoming town was everything we could have hoped for. Although we missed the presence of our friends and family, I wouldn’t have changed anything about our elopement. Kate and I were able to focus on what starting a marriage is really all about - each other.”
aprés
The day before their wedding, Kate and Evan skied Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. After a long day on the slopes, they enjoyed a little aprés at The Handle Bar - the best place for a boot of local beer and happy hour appetizers. The couple couldn’t have imagined a more perfect pre-wedding celebration!
lace and faux fur Kate and her mom went to A Little Something White in Darien, Connecticut to find her bridal gown. She tried on fifteen to twenty dresses before finding the one. When Kate slipped on the fitted, lace adorned gown, she didn’t even have to zip it up to know it was her wedding dress. She completed her look with a mountain inspired, faux fur coat from Anthropologie. A timeless and always gorgeous pairing!
it takes a village “One of my best memories from our elopement was that all of our local vendors took the adventure with us. Everyone from our sweet cab driver to our amazing photographer and officiant were just as responsible for making our day special. I kept waiting to panic but I never felt overwhelmed or stressed. We went with the flow and reveled in every moment and interaction.”
advice for rocky mountain couples “Submerge yourself into the local community. Keep things simple and take advantage of the local talent. Take all the time you need to enjoy married bliss and the area around you before returning back to reality.”
