A LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

Every year as the (unpredictable) spring weather make its way to Wyoming, I feel an excitement as I know this magazine will soon be in your hands. I always love seeing how couples accentuate the natural beauty of Wyoming and how they let that inspire their celebrations and the couples within this magazine did not disappoint. This magazine is filled with remarkable weddings, including our cover story featuring a celebration at Diamond Cross Ranch accompanied with hat branding, bull riding, champagne Jell-O shots and some of the best outfits I’ve ever seen, an intimate wedding on the hillside of Amangani featuring an aisle full of florals, a harpist and a wedding dress that is what dreams are made of. Or thinking about a winter wedding? Check out a mountaintop ceremony complete with a sparkler exit, while on skis of course, that proves Wyoming is amazing no matter the time of year. No matter which wedding you are looking at, the looks in this magazine are hard to beat. I hope the pages ahead inspire you to embrace the effortless beauty Wyoming offers us. I can’t wait to see what you all come up with!

Happy Planning!

BEGINNINGS

KAYCEN + BRAYDEN SHERIDAN

It all began at a basketball tournament in Gillette, where Brayden first noticed Kaycen’s skills on the court. After finding her on the roster, he reached out to her on social media, prompting a playful exchange where she teased him for not approaching her in person. Despite never exchanging phone numbers, they relied on Snapchat for communication. Nevertheless, Brayden confided in his teammates and coach during the bus ride home that he was going to marry that girl. Despite losing touch several times throughout their college years, they eventually met in person when Brayden made the journey to Kaycen in Billings, Montana. Fast forward two years later, during what seemed like a routine Sunday family dinner, a surprise awaited Kaycen. Disguised as a casual excursion to inspect some dirt work in the upper hay pasture, Brayden, with dogs in tow, led Kaycen to the barn. As they ventured into the field, Kaycen turned around to find Brayden on one knee!

MAXINE + JOHN GRAND

Maxine and John’s journey began six years ago at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, where they both worked; Maxine in the buying department and John in marketing. Their initial encounter took place at Corbet’s Cabin, where John was photographing for one of Maxine’s vendors, and she graciously lent a hand, over a shared waffle, no less! This quickly led to taking ski breaks together everyday and making excuses to their co-workers so they could have lunch together. Fast forward five and a half years, atop a mountain bike climb amidst the vibrant fall foliage, John knelt down and proposed with the breathtaking scenery as their witness. To celebrate, the couple connected with Peter Lobozzo to capture them in their hometown. “We feel so grateful to live where we do and wanted a moment in time for us in our favorite place. We chose Peter because he does an incredible job photographing not only people but places,” shares the bride-to-be.

GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK

COLLEEN + ZACH

Colleen and Zach met online, a quintessential tale of modern romance. “We both left our first date knowing that we just had met our forever person. We were inseparable from that point on,” shares Colleen. A year and a half into dating, the pair had a couple’s photo session booked with Jocilyn Bennett Photography. However, Zach had other plans in mind. He reached out to Jocilyn to let her know he would be proposing. And, with the assistance of Colleen’s twin sister, Zach ensured the ring was the perfect size and had it ready before their trip to Jackson. He even secretly stashed a bottle of champagne in their truck. During the photo session, amidst the picturesque backdrop, Zach got down on one knee to ask Colleen to be his forever!

caroline & will

While Caroline and Will went to high school together, they were never more than friends. Five years after heading to opposite sides of the country for schooling, Caroline and Will bumped into each other in their hometown of Morgantown, West Virginia. They quickly realized there was something special between them and began dating immediately. It wasn’t but two and a half years later that Will proposed to Caroline during a family trip to Nashville, Tennessee. “We were having dinner with my parents at our favorite restaurant, Skull’s Rainbow Room, in Printer’s Alley. I was so excited to be showing my parents our favorite restaurant. Unbeknownst to me, Will had given my dad the ring and he had it in his pocket all through dinner,” Caroline shared. However, Will was so nervous that he couldn’t wait until his planned moment at the next location. Instead, he popped the question on the street, completely shocking Caroline. She, of course, said “Yes!” and they celebrated the night away with family at Robert’s Western World.

The Grand Tetons served as the striking backdrop for the entirety of Caroline and Will’s wedding weekend. Vignette Floral Design balanced out the expansive scenery with bold florals including both fresh and dried blooms. Autumn and golden hour hues adorned the ceremony and reception providing the wedding day with a romantic warmth. Meanwhile, touches of western country details were scattered throughout including live country music, cowboy boots and leather.

tell us about your outfits I did not take the task of finding wedding outfits lightly.

Welcome Party: For welcome drinks at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, I wore a denim dress outlined in rhinestones from Self Portrait. I paired it with a pair of blue cowboy boots from Wondering Coyote, a gift from my sister-in-law as my “something blue.”. I also wore big rhinestone earrings with my new initials.

Rehearsal Dinner: This was definitely the hardest outfit to find. It’s pretty tough to find a rehearsal dinner outfit you can also ride a bull in. Luckily I found this Nadine Merabi lace jumpsuit. It was the perfect mix of bridal and cowboy.

Wedding Gown: Before I was even engaged I saw a wedding gown online and sent it to my mom. I told her that this is exactly the type of dress that I would want. Fast forward a few months and Will and I get engaged in Nashville, Tennessee. We got engaged on a Friday, that very next day my parents are walking around town. They pass by Adorn Bridal and in the window is the EXACT dress I had sent my mom. We immediately made plans to come back and shop at Adorn. Sure enough as soon as I tried on that dress I knew it was the right one. It was the Thrya gown by Rita Vinieris.

Reception Gown: Adorn also carries western style wedding dresses by the spectacular Chantel Lauren. They have the most unique and fun styles. I loved each and every dress I tried on from them, but I fell in love with the Kit Wedding Dress. The fringe detail on the arm was so fitting for the venue and so fun! It allowed me to be comfortable and dance all night long.

favorite moment of the day

My favorite moment of the day was a small but significant one. When we decided to get married in October in Wyoming we had prepared for the worst, weather wise. We had blankets, heaters, a tent, etc. all standing by just in case. While sitting down for dinner, after all the nerves had settled and things had calmed down a bit, it hit me just how fortunate we were. I have a core memory of sitting at the table, surrounded by lifelong friends, in the sunlight watching the horses nearby. It was then I realized that we had not needed any of those heaters or blankets. I was truly able to look around and see how blessed we had been.

highlight of the ceremony

The highlight of the ceremony was when the music started to play and I saw Will standing at the end of the aisle. I had been so nervous all day, but as soon as the music started all of the nerves melted away and I was truly able to be present. I could have lived in the moment forever.

Vendor that went above and beyond

I would like to highlight our florist, Svenja, from Vignette Florals. She really deserves the credit for making the wedding as unique and beautiful as it was. She is responsible for all the flower arrangements, the bouquets, the installment with the disco balls and of course the cross. I want to be her when I grow up.

The couple planned a wedding they described as “a little bit country, a little bit rock ‘n roll” with the help of Palette Events Company. 98 of their closest friends and family joined them for a full weekend of festivities including line dancing and drinks at The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and a welcome party at The Gray Barn. From an airplane bottle opener seating chart as a nod to the bride's career and Champagne Jell-O shots inspired by Dolly Parton’s White Limozeen in Nashville, Tennessee to a hat branding station and ending their reception in true West Virginia fashion playing “Country Roads,” each event included personalized touches that represented who they were as a couple and individuals, as well as places and things that were important to them.

demi & james

Demi and James had their first date at Barcelona Wine Bar in Denver, Colorado. It didn’t take long for the two to fall in love. After James cooked for Demi a few times the week following their first date, they ventured out on a beautiful hike and knew there was something special between them. A little over a year into their relationship, James decided to pop the question while they were fly fishing on the Arkansas River in Salida. To celebrate, they went skinny dipping in the river followed by a romantic night away at the Surf Hotel!

Demi and James planned a classic ranch wedding filled with bright colors and wildflowers for 125 guests at The HF Bar Ranch, a place Demi dreamed about getting married at since she was a child. Demi leaned into the traditions of the ranch and her love for flowers when it came to planning. Soft hues of yellows, greens and whites were used to decorate the day accompanied by pops of pink peonies and bright sunflowers. After a day full of rain, the clouds parted just in time for Demi’s dad to walk her down the aisle towards the Big Horn Mountains and the love of her life, James. This weather would hang around for everyone to enjoy the best summer celebration filled with cocktails, dinner and dancing the night away.

They came out into the middle of the dance floor at the end of the night and sang "Wagon Wheel" acapella and everyone sang and danced their hearts out. It was a LOVE FEST.

alex & danny

Alex and Danny were friends long before they began dating. However, the timing was never right. Once the spark between the two was finally able to ignite, it was destined to be a forever love. Five years into their relationship, the couple planned a 10 day road trip through Arizona and Utah including a stop at the infamous Amangiri which was on Alex’s bucket list of places to visit as an Aman groupie. “During our stay at Amangiri, Danny surprised me with the Sunset Trail Experience, where the resort escorted us to our own private picnic for two. We had a full spread of delicious snacks, my favorite red wine and the most romantic view of Southern Utah while the sun set behind the mesas. Danny asked me to marry him in the calmness of the desert. It was spectacular and will forever be my favorite memory and moment,” recalls Alex. The newly engaged couple would go on to plan an intimate destination wedding at, but of course, the Amangani, Wyoming’s acclaimed Aman resort.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“I am biased but intimate weddings are the way to go! Make sure everything about your wedding feels like you and your partner’s personality. Trends come and go so be careful taking details from the latest IG famous wedding. Build yourself a day or weekend that makes you feel calm and comfortable. Have fun and enjoy the love!”

The Amangani with its breathtaking views of the Grand Tetons set the scene for this romantic wedding day. Lining the secluded hilltop were 24 King Louis Chairs for guests to watch on in luxury as Alex and Danny recited their vows in front of a beautiful ground arch, as to not take away from the backdrop. Harpist Nina Munger strung the chords to “My Heart Will Go On” by Celine Dion, a classic, as Alex gracefully walked down the aisle in her ruffled tulle ball gown designed by Oscar de la Renta. While cloudy when the wedding party entered the ceremony, Alex shares, “The sun came out from behind the clouds right as I opened the doors. I like to think that it was my late father looking down on my perfect day and sending us a blessing.” The intimate celebration continued with an elevated and sexy dinner party in the Amangani’s Library before departing for a wild western after party at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.

favorite thing purchased for the wedding day

My favorite details for my wedding day was repurposing my mother's jewelry set into my something blue and the gift to my sister and Maid of Honor. My father gifted my mother a matching earrings and pendant set many, many years ago. The styling was a bit dated, it was aquamarine stones in a heavy gold setting.

We knew we wanted to incorporate the heirlooms into my wedding look. We took it to our jeweler to remove the settings and decide what to do with the gemstones. Unfortunately, my mom had lost one of the earrings, the earring gem was an unique trillion shaped. So I had it set into a floating basket on a dainty rose gold chain to create a necklace for my sister. I surprised her with it on my wedding morning as her Maid of Honor gift.

When we removed the pendant stone, we realized the gem was heart shaped, it was a fun surprise. The stone is quite large so I was bit indecisive in how to recreate something wearable. I ended up having the stone set into a statement cocktail ring on a rose gold band. I had the ring sized for my pinky finger which felt like a young and modern twist to a classic design. I wore it on my wedding day and it covered all my somethings - something blue, something old, something new and something borrowed. I like to think of it as my wedding gift from my father. It's very special to me to own a piece he picked out for my mother.

emily & august

It was Fall of 2019 when Emily and August met one evening at a local bar in Dallas. Just shy of the front door, Emily felt a friendly embrace on her arm. She turned around to see a gentleman in a cowboy hat smiling ear-to-ear at her. Assuming they knew one another, both groups of friends left them uninterrupted. Little did they know this would be the beginning of something very special. Four years later, August asked Emily to join him at a happy hour celebrating his MBA graduation. Emily shares, “He led me into the courtyard gardens, and I absentmindedly asked, ‘Where is everyone?’ ‘Are we late?’ I was aimlessly following August pacing around the gardens. With his back turned to me, he finally said, ‘I have to admit, I didn’t bring you here for a happy hour.’ He quickly turned toward me, bent down on one knee and asked, ‘Will you marry me?’ To which she replied, “Yes!”

vendor that went above and beyond

What truly distinguishes the Dance Doctors Band is their remarkable ability to engage the crowd. The band's interaction with our guests during the reception created an authentic and inviting atmosphere, with performers often joining the crowd to showcase dance moves and to deliver extraordinary saxophone riffs. This personal touch made the night feel uniquely tailored to us and our guests.

Emily and August planned a summer wedding at The Brinton Museum featuring a biophilic design inspired by the Bighorn Mountains. The ceremony was like a scene from a movie as Emily held on to her dad as they walked toward August surrounded by beautiful century-old cottonwood trees releasing blooms and a wild aisle designed by florist, Storylines Floral Co. As the reception unfolded, Emily changed into a cotton dress by Jacquemus featuring handembroidered dot appliques. Paired with custom Lucchese boots, Emily was now ready to let loose with her husband, family and friends late into the night with the Dance Doctors Band creating an authentic and vibrant atmosphere.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

kelly & graham

Kelly and Graham were set up by an unexpected matchmaker, her dental hygienist. Kelly happened to be in for a routine teeth cleaning, when Graham, a dentist, walked in to complete her exam. It wasn’t long after that he would be taking her out on their first date to a French wine bar, Bon Ami in Denver, Colorado. And, when you know, you know. Just nine months later, the couple would return to the wine bar where Graham had rented out the patio and decorated it with roses and pictures before dropping down on one knee. After enjoying an intimate dinner, they ventured to another winery where they celebrated with their family and friends.

Kelly and Graham planned a mountain chic wedding for 200 guests at Split Creek Ranch in Jackson. Split Creek Ranch offered everything the couple was after for their large destination wedding; luxury and elegance without losing the authentic Western experience they wanted their guests to have. Surrounded by the grandiose Teton Mountains, Kelly shared, “Graham and I wanted our first act as a married couple to be thanking God for the gift of our wedding day, marriage and to worship Him. After we said our vows, we turned towards the mountains and prayed together and thanked God for it."

“Soak up every ounce of the GIFT that is engagement season. It may not seem like a gift when you are stressed and trying to nail down all the details of the day itself, but remind yourself that 10 years down the line, or even one year, you won’t care about the little things that are stressing you now. Pause, look your partner in the eye and realize what a gift they are in your life.” ADVICE TO

& brendan

jessie

City dwellers, Jessie and Brendan, met in New York City, New York through mutual friends. After dating for three years, Brendan proposed on what felt like a normal Sunday morning in February. Following brunch, the couple enjoyed a casual walk along the water when Brendan suddenly got down on one knee. Their siblings popped out with iPhones in hand to capture the moment in history. To escape the hustle and bustle, Jessie and Brendan planned a memorable Western wedding. The weekend took on a romantic Western aesthetic featuring shades of pink and, of course, cowboy boots!

A PERSONAL TOUCH

The bride-to-be hired Sharon Morgera, an artist who specializes in fine art calligraphy and watercolor illustration artwork, to hand paint the venue entrance of The Wild Horse Ranch. This beautiful, custom design was then featured on the couple’s save-the-dates, wedding invitations and day-of designs. Now, the framed painting hangs in their home as a special reminder of their wedding day.

Jessie and Brendan said “I do” in the lush fields with the impressive Pryor Mountains overlooking their union. Graced with gorgeous weather, the entire day was spent outside enjoying the beauty of their surroundings. Three signature cocktails were served on the patio, including the groom’s must-have for the wedding, Spotted Cow Beer. Meanwhile, guests danced to music from Mannequin the Band and indulged in local cuisine from The Laughing Pig. As the sun set behind the mountains, WyoPhilly Food Truck dished out Philly Cheesesteaks to ensure the party could continue well into the night.

Our coordinator! Ramie is THE BEST! She went above and beyond to make sure everything happened seamlessly. She was so sweet and was always checking on us, as well as our families. She was like an amazing second mom on the day of the wedding. Highly, highly recommend.

The caterer! We used a local vendor who did all three events for us; rehearsal dinner, wedding and brunch the next morning! They included so many fresh, local ingredients that made for an exciting menu! They also had to travel over an hour for each event and worked before and after the event to make it happen. I don’t think they slept the whole weekend. Couldn’t recommend them enough!

Florist! Sue was so helpful and hands on. Our flowers turned out beautiful and I was OBSESSED.

“The bride and groom set the tone for the day. If you are happy and having a good time, so will everyone else! Trust your vendors and that all of your planning will fall into place. And if it doesn’t, don’t worry about it! Just enjoy the day because it truly flies by.”

mariaM & mike

Memorial Day weekend in the summer of 2017 was the serendipitous beginning for Mariam and Mike. Mariam fondly recalls joining a gathering at Mike’s summer house with his friends. Mike’s attempt at introductions, filled with humorous mix-ups, set the tone for their unique journey together. Fast forward four years, Mike orchestrated a grand surprise for Mariam, leading her on an adventure to Schwabacher Landing in Jackson Hole, where he proposed, captured by photographer Neil Simmons.

Saying ‘I do’ in Jackson Hole was an easy choice for the couple, as it embodied the magic and beauty that represented their sense of adventure, love for travel and appreciation for unique experiences. Leaning on Mariam’s admiration of vintage Ralph Lauren, their wedding day took on an elevated Western aesthetic featuring deep earth tones to complement the fall season. Everyone in attendance was dressed to the nines. Mariam stunned in a silk Danielle Frankel gown, Mike wore a custom dark green, velvet tuxedo, and guests followed suit in chic Western attire featuring beautiful floral prints, fine fabrics and couture coats.

highlight of the ceremony

Our close friend Kayla officiated our wedding. Without any rehearsal, we entrusted her completely, and she truly delivered. Her words were incredibly thoughtful, infused with humor, making the ceremony all the more special. Mike and I were deeply grateful for her presence, especially after spending so much time together during the challenges of COVID.

Given the bond we formed during that difficult period, it felt particularly appropriate to have her officiate our wedding.

brooke & billy

Brooke and Billy reconnected ten years after high school when they were reintroduced by mutual family friends. After dating for two years, the pair decided to take the next step and move in together. However, Billy had bigger plans in mind. In the midst of unpacking, Billy arranged for Brooke’s mom to go furniture shopping with her. While they were out and about, Billy decorated the backyard with rose petals, candles and cafe lights. Brooke had no idea what she would have in store upon her return. The couple’s families watched on from afar as Billy asked Brooke to be his forever.

Saying “I do” with the Tetons for a backdrop had always been Brooke’s dream since traveling to Jackson each summer with her family. They worked with wedding planner, Whitt Ross, to create a Ralph Lauren inspired wedding weekend full of activities and celebrations for 110 guests. Style and cuisine were of utmost importance to Brooke and Billy, which led them to serve Thomas Keller inspired bouchon bites and hire stylist, Emily Dawson, to ensure their looks were fashion forward with a Jackson twist.

favorite thing purchased for the wedding day

Bride - I had a necklace made with stones that belonged to my grandmothers to wear on my wedding day and have them there with me.

Groom - I got light blue puffers for the groomsmen and Nicole's dad and stepdad to wear for the wedding, from the Jackson based outdoor company, Stio, that matched the light blue bow on Nicole's dress.

Vendor that went above and beyond

Our wedding planner, Shelby, The White Antler, was amazing throughout the whole wedding planning process and really stepped up the week of and kept us stress free, when inevitably some things didn't go as planned. Josh Griffith, videographer, and Sarah Eder, photographer, showed tremendous creativity and vision in the way they captured our wedding weekend, with the exact aesthetic we were envisioning. Sean, waiter/bartender/anything we needed, was the MVP on Friday Après and Saturday at the Mangy Moose.

Nicole and Max met back in their high school years, however, they wouldn’t begin dating until they coincidentally reunited while both studying abroad in Europe during their Junior year of college. Nearly a decade later, the pair was making a late night drive to Telluride, Colorado, when they were forced to pull over due to white out conditions. Before Nicole knew it, Max had made his way to her side of the car with a glass of champagne. He got down on one knee in the middle of the snowstorm and asked her to marry him. They enjoyed a toast on the tailgate on the side of Route 62 followed by a full weekend of activities planned by Max. It was only fitting that the couple planned a winter wonderland wedding with a cozy Western and aprés ski aesthetic. They invited 100 guests to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to celebrate their love story and experience everything they love about the town during the winter months: skiing, aprés, sloshies and dancing at the Mangy Moose.

ADVICE TO FUTURE COUPLES

“Take a step back and appreciate the gravity of the weekend! Try not to stress and be thankful for all the people who love you and made the effort to celebrate with you and appreciate all the people who helped make it possible!”

INSPIRATION

FLIRTING Fallwith

Nestled along the Snake River at the base of the Tetons, Antelope Trails Ranch served as the perfect setting for this love story to unfold. Latham Steven Events worked with photographer, Mary Kate Steele, and creative director, Amanda of The Bridal Theory, to curate a warm, yet inviting color palette, blending radiant golds, verdant greens and the cozy autumnal tones of blush pinks, vibrant oranges and soft creams. Embracing the natural beauty of Jackson, the vendor team leaned into the western aesthetic of the area with a touch of luxury and romance.

The ceremony was set amidst a stunning landscape, with a perfectly manicured lawn encircled by an enchanted forest, a roaring river and magnificent mountain ranges. Plush Floral framed this breathtaking vista with a grand arch adorned abundantly with locally-grown flowers, including roses, dahlias, panicle hydrangeas and tulips. Lining the aisle were large floral bundles creating a romantic path for the bride to greet her forever with a kiss.

The bride wore a gorgeous Liz Martinez wedding gown which featured delicate tulle details mimicking the soft Aspen leaves that were falling amongst the Rockies. Styled with an effortlessly tousled updo, crystal pearl earrings and a Tessa Kim veil adorned with chiffon petals, the final look was polished, yet delicate. To ensure she could twostep the night away at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, the now Mrs. changed into a fun mini designed by Luciana Emilia Atelier featuring an open back, oversized detachable back bow and halter neckline paired with cowboy boots and a hat, of course.

Setting the tone for the evening, Plume Calligraphy and Atwood Design collaborated to craft an enchanting escort wall, embellished with gold horse figurines as an homage to the Western theme and the ranch’s spirit. Drawing inspiration from the timeless elegance of classic Americana, the outdoor tablescape and lounge area became a visual delight. Infused with hues of blues and browns, the design seamlessly echoed the majestic beauty of the surrounding mountains while the floral arrangements continued to showcase the glowing colors of fall. From the first drops of morning dew as the bride prepared to say “I do,” to the last clinks of glasses at the end of the night, this enchanting celebration not only aimed to resonate with the luxury market but also remained accessible to the average bride, capturing the essence of timeless elegance amidst the spectacular scenery.

in the

WEST

Located in the heart of the Shoshone National Forest lies UXU Ranch, an all-inclusive dude ranch combining both luxury and history. It's within these picturesque surroundings that planner Kayleigh Rust of Wild West Collective curated a stunning wedding editorial, infusing a whimsical al fresco aesthetic with touches of feminine elegance and Western flair.

Elevate your welcome party with fashion that will make your guests’ heads turn. The brideto-be dazzled in a sparkly white jumpsuit with a dramatic, oversized bow paired with a chic updo. Meanwhile, the groom wore navy pants with a crisp white button up from SuitShop for a casual yet polished look. With the sun setting behind the lush forest and the Shoshone River, guests can enjoy cocktails and small nibbles while taking in the impressive views.

Seeking a modern wedding gown that embodied the wildflowers in the Mountain West while remaining fashion-forward, the bride chose the breathtaking Valentina Dress by House of Savin. Featuring vibrant, hand-painted flowers, this A-line gown exuded personality, radiance and femininity. To tie in the overall aesthetic of the day, she accessorized with a baby blue cowboy hat and delicately frilly high heels, completing her uniquely stylish look.

Inspired by the bride’s gown, the wedding day was embellished with a light and airy color palette including pastel blues and pinks complemented by warm walnut accents. After exchanging intimate vows among the mountains, the newlyweds joined their guests for an al fresco dinner under the evening sky with chandeliers dangling from the trees above for a hint of elegance. To highlight the beauty of the natural area, floral designer, Melissa of Field and Frond decorated the tablescape with small floral arrangements made up of minimal wildflowers.
