Arise Sir YOPEY! Matthew C. Martino honoured with YOPEY award London, UK- A young British entrepreneur, who went off the rails‟ after success and wealth came early, is Essex’s Young Person of the Year. Matthew C. Martino was presented with the award known as a „YOPEY‟, by Baron John Petre, the Lord-Lieutenant of Essex, at a lavish ceremony in London this weekend. John Petre, who represents the Queen in Essex, said that the 23-year-old is “an inspiration and a great example to many young people”.

The young philanthropist regarded to be on of UK‟s Youngest philanthropist launched his first charitable initial the Matthew Martino Benevolent Fund or MMBF Trust as its known back in 2013 to give back to the film and creative industries. His latest venture the MM Enterprise Award supports 16-25year olds to start their own business through start-up grants, mentoring and free business courses. Matthew was shortlisted out of hundreds of entries from across Essex and judged by a 50strong panel that included many mayors and council chairmen plus young people who have taken part in past YOPEYs. They said Matthew is “using boundless energy and business skills to help others pursue their dreams”. Martino commented on MMBF saying “I think with the right support and resources a lot of young people would stay off the streets and work harder.All it takes to succeed is drive and passion. Hopefully with the grants, scholarships and support MMBF offer we can inspire a whole generation of young achievers.”
