5th Annual Ken Amaro Bowtie Golf Classic to support Northwest Behavioral Health Services
On Friday, November 11, 2016, Northwest Behavioral Health Services is teaming up with Ken Amaro of First Coast News for the 5th Annual Ken Amaro Bowtie Golf Classic, to be held at the beautiful Deercreek Country Club, 7816 McLaurin Road North in Jacksonville, Florida. The goal of the 2016 tournament is to raise $150,000. Funds raised will help to provide services for adults and children living with HIV, AIDS, drug addiction, and Mental Health challenges such as PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and depression. The 5th Annual Ken Amaro Bowtie Golf Classic golf tournament fundraiser is a significant resource in creating needed funds to infuse a tight operating budget. With the current reduction of the City’s allocation of Public Services, the success of this tournament is critical for maintaining the adult and children services provided to the community. More details about the event and sponsorship packages are available at http://www.nwbh.org Said Ken Amaro of First Coast News, NBC 12 and ABC 25 “Our aim through this tournament is to bring the plight of those less fortunate to the attention of our community and seek their involvement and support for our various rehabilitation programs." The tournament is expected to be extremely exciting and challenging for the players as the greens at the Deercreek Country Club are mostly elevated. To make the tournament more exciting, participants will be awarded prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Places, Longest Drive, Longest Putt, Closest to the pin, Hole in one (all par 3s), door prizes, and a luncheon where our corporate sponsors will be recognized. There are a number of ways for you to be involved and support the Ken Amaro Bowtie Classic, as an individual player for only $125, as a hole in one sponsor for only $250, as the luncheon sponsor, or by providing items for the ditty bags. The tournament will kick off with registration at 7:30 am and a shotgun start at 9.00 am. According to Mr. KW Godwin, Head PGA Golf Professional, Deercreek Country Club, "Deercreek is a private championship golf course that offers both challenge and entertainment for our members and guests. Although there are several forced carries and water on all but one hole, Robert Miller's design at Deercreek is an enjoyable and fair test of golf for golfers of all skill levels. At the heart of our course is a large, 285-acre natural preserve hosting a variety of
Florida wildlife, which makes Deercreek both beautiful and unique to other courses in Northeast Florida."
