Mountainside On-Site Massage Therapy Presents New Crafts For Kids Spa Parties in New Jersey At the kids spa parties hosted by Mountainside On Site Massage Therapy, we found that kids enjoyed the services very much, but they also loved doing the crafts. For the longest time, we had only two crafts, which were super fun, but we wanted to do something more. After much consideration, we decided to create a new menu of crafts for the kids to do at our parties, with the host parent or older sibling. Crafts are a fun way for kids to learn to work together to create something cool. For many children, learning by doing is the most effective way to learn. Learning to measure and weigh items, put things together, and share are just some of the lessons that the crafts are able to teach. However, these are parties for kids, not a classroom, so they had to be lots of fun to do, too. The crafts needed to be portable, since they would be taking them home with them, so they had to fit into containers with tight fitting lids. The crafts we already had were lip balm making(where everyone gets to pick their very own yummy flavor) and the homemade soap making craft (with several different available options, such as color, scent, and flower petals). Both of these crafts involved working together, choosing different options (especially with the soap), and learning to measure different items. So when we were creating our new crafts, we wanted to offer something that would be different from these, but also active and interesting. When we introduced the new crafts, the kids loved them. Everybody knows that most kids like to take bubble baths, so we thought we should make a bubble bath craft. The craft makes enough for two baths at home, and every girl gets to choose her own scent from our menu of essential oils. Our kids bubble bath is really kid safe, and is free of most of the harsh -- chemicals and perfumes that store bought bubble bath can contain. Our second new craft is the sugar body scrub. This is great as a pre-bath scrub to get rid of dead skin cells before bathing or showering, making it the perfect spa themed craft activity. All of the ingredients in this craft are totally natural, including the chosen essential oil. The third and fourth craft were very similar, though with different levels of difficulty. The bath salts are very easy to make, and easy to use. You just pour them into your freshly drawn bath at home, and it relaxes your muscles and softens the skin. The final craft, though, is by far the coolest, although its
