Operation Lily: Fundraising Campaign Launched for a Fallen Hero’s Daughter Lily is one of nearly 5,000 “Gold Star” children whose father was killed in combat since 2001! October 11, 2015, ETNA, Ohio, United States- Jon Hanson has created an online campaign through Stewardship for Life (SFLToday.org, a 501 c 3 qualified charity) with the goal to raise $50,000 for 4 year old Lily, daughter of Sergeant 1st Class William Kelly Lacey who was killed in action (Afghanistan). “Operation Lily is about helping a father complete one last mission for his daughter. Although, no amount of money can replace Lily's Dad, Ashley's husband and the Lacey's son, still this fund professionally managed can be a reminder one day to a little-girl-grown-up of the many people that wanted to show love to Lily and honor what her dad stood for, “said Jon. Jon Hanson, author of Good Debt, Bad Debt (Penguin, 2007) was greatly affected by Lacey’s death. His son Aubrey served in the same unit but did not go on that mission (he had just returned from Iraq). Since the attack that killed Lacey was “inside the secured area” of the FOB (forward operating base) the fatality could have easily been his son. Since the initial launch of this Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign, Jon has managed to raise $2,299 in a matter of just few days, which is a true demonstration of Americans standing together in their support for fallen soldiers and their families. All perks are donated, books, CD’s, music downloads, and the music production; and will be shipped immediately. The money raised will be used to:  
