KEY OBSERVATIONS:

ACTIONS:

• March 2020 was The Forge’s most successful month since its inception. 3167 users hit the site compared to 1948 in February - itself a successful month but March has set a new benchmark for visitation to the site.

• The unfolding COVID-19 circumstance provides ADC with an opportunity to supplement its postponed residential delivery of professional joint military education by increasing its continuous, accessible and adaptive digital content on The Forge.

• March has seen a significant increase in total page views with a total of 17477 and an average session duration time of 9min 56sec. This metric highlights that visitors are still exploring the site and finding engaging content despite the end of the Sci-Fi Writing Competition Call for Entries in February. • Computer/laptop visitors spent 19min 36sec on average in March. Mobile phone visitors spent just 1min 15sec. • 49.2% of visitors to the site did so from a mobile device. 47.1% accessed via a computer or laptop. • It can be speculated that the COVID-19 circumstance has resulted in ‘Not Set’ visitation (attributed to the DRN) being relegated to 7th in city rankings (it usually ranks 4th). Only 2.95% of visitors accessed the site from their office. • Internationally, Indonesia jumped into the Top 10 in March securing 9th. • Four (4) articles were published to The Forge in March resultant of more stringent governance around submission tracking and editing which is now fully in-house overseen by FLI.

• Eight (8) articles await publication with no less than three (3) sitting with the originator following editor input. The Forge Coordinator will manage stakeholder expectations as and when articles are returned. • The new JPME CONNECT Series is now live with The Forge Coordinator managing the initiative’s comms and marketing in parallel to article tracking and general governance in synchronisation with the JPME Team. • Given the popularity of the ADC Sci-Fi Writing Competition, it’s recommended ADC look to record the winning stories (and honourable mentions) using a contracted voice actor. These Orson Wells-esque artefacts can be posted to The Forge - podcast-style - providing rich, accessible content particularly for those in isolation.
