Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary During your time in Borneo, you will have the incredible opportunity to visit the renowned Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary, a rehabilitation centre that strives to reintroduce captive orangutans back into the wild. Here, you’ll be able to observe orangutans at their feeding stations in the rainforest and, if the nursery is open, witness baby orangutans playing amongst themselves. Mangrove Forests From Sandakan, embark on a boat cruise up the Lower Kinabatangan River, passing pristine mangrove forests in search of wildlife. These watery forests are unlike the forests we know and are a haven for all manor of strange and beautiful creatures.
