Work Experience Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS) Architect London UK| Feb 08-Oct 13

This established & award-winning practice, winners of the Stirling Prize in 2008, have a wellearned reputation for considered & thoughtful, sustainable design. The Highfield School, Letchworth Garden City_a competitive bid for a £14m secondary school for 1150 students with Kier Construction. In my role as project architect, I was responsible for liaising with the Educational Funding Agency, the school & the design team. Our successful team has now entered into a framework for 6 schools totaling £60m. (East of England- Batch 2) William Perkin Church of England Academy, North Ealing, London_a £20m Academy, one of the UK’s first ‘Free Schools’ in Greater London. Kier Construction were the main contractor. It is the largest cross laminated timber (CLT) structure in the UK. I led the coordination of the mechanical & electrical services (M&E) & development of interior design packages from tender to completion. I worked on the coordination of the CLT structure & preparation of external cladding construction information. Commissioned in Feb 2012, completed Aug 2013. The Drapers’ Academy, Havering, London_a £24 million Academy located on the edge of the London Green belt with Kier Construction as main contractor. I worked on early design stages subsequently leading design development of the interiors & coordination of M&E through to completion. I worked on site closely with the contractor & subcontractors to integrate the services to create a considered building. Comissioned in 2011, completed in May 2012. For the above projects, cultivating a close & effective relationships with the contractor & consultants was crucial to this work. 100 East Road, Hackney, London_a £20m mixed-use project consisting of high-quality student housing, offices, cafe & retail for a private developer. I was responsible for structural coordination of both buildings & the design development of the 3 storey office block. I led design of the glazing & interior packages from tender through to completion. I addition to working in timber & brick cladding, metalwork & roofing packages I developed a 3D model which enabled us to successfully resolves complex aesthetic & technical challenges. Completed in Aug 2009 One Brighton Community Centre, Brighton_a £1m community hub situated on the lower two floors of an FCBS designed high-density mixed-use development in Brighton. It was designed around One Planet Living principles. I led consultations with the multiple charity user groups developing the brief & space planning. I was responsible for M&E coordination & interior, joinery & FF&E packages. Completed in Dec 2009 University Of Washington Student Housing, USA_a collaboration with Ankrom Moisan Architects for the University of Washington in Seattle on a feasibility studies for two student housing schemes. The sites are situated at the Western edge of the University Campus overlooking Portage Bay & with distant views of Mount Rainier. We developed the design to RIBA stage 3/4. Completed in Sept 2013. South Camden Community School-BSF_ a competitive bid for a for a part new build, part refurbished secondary school for 1550 students with Bougyues UK.
