GERMANY Digital print of Europe (DPE) -A trip to the city of Bratwurst and Lebkuchen The EU-funded Comeniusproject, Digital Printof Europe, held its recent meeting in the German state of Bavaria's largest city, Nuremberg. Teachers and students from nine different countries met in Nuremberg to learn about daily life, culture and history of this German city. During the 4th Comeniusrotation the students Louise, Sarah, David and Adam, accompanied by their teachers Rose-Marie and AnnaKarin, visited the city of Nuremberg. A group of dedicated teachers from the school Peter-Vischer-Schule gave us a warm welcome and the opportunity, during 4 days, to get acquainted with their school and the city it is located in. Students participated in various workshops where they, e.g, used singing and dancing to create a feeling of community amongst the participants in the project. A Comenius Song (music: Mambo no5, lyrics: new composition) was recorded and a choreography to the song was practised extensively in the school's gym. Digital media, such as photography and film, were used by the students to capture their experiences during the days in Nuremberg. In different groups the students spent a full day in the city centre where they filmed and photographed different tasks given to them. Their productions were edited in Photoshop and a movie editing program. The final product was a film and slide show, accompanied by the Comeniussong, which was presented to everyone the last day. This was a fun memory and summarized the experiences of the week in a nice way!

City tour

Our German teacher colleague, Catherine, proved to be a fenomenal guide and took us teachers on an incredible city walk through the city centre's every corner. Among other places we visited the Renaissance artist Albrecht D端rer's house and wandered up to Nuremberg Castle, dating back to the 1100s. Here we had a fantastic view over the medieval town's houses, the river Pegnitz and the city's bridges and it was hard to imagine that this beautiful city was almost totally bombed during World War II. Dokuzentrum (Documentation center Nazi Party rally grounds) It is hard to imagine that this stunningly beautiful city, with its friendly people, has a period of very dark history. Between 1933 and 1945 Nuremberg played a big role in the National Socialist's recruitment efforts and propaganda. On their enormous rally ground is now a museum with professional guides and an informative and instructive exhibition. Here we could get an idea about the history of National Socialism and learn about how the National Socialist Workers' Party held its parliamentary party days at Nuremberg, every year from 1933. Impressions in summary Our visit to Nuremberg left many exciting impressions on us and we were incredibly well looked after by our hosts, to whom we want to adress a big thank you! We also want to address a big thank you to the host families, who created a relaxing and fun time for the students! Finally, this has in many ways also been a culinary journey with everything from authentic N端rnberger Lebkuchen to homemade N端rnberger Bratwurst, which we got to taste at the farewell dinner. Yum!

See you in Sweden next time!
