Museum Jorn and AQUA
Askar Jorn was Danish painter, sculptor, ceramic artist, and author. He was a founding member of the avant-garde movement COBRA and the Situationist International. (Wkipedia). A great deal of his work and private collection can be seen at Museum Jorn. At the museum we had the opportunity to learn more about Jorn and the museum, watch the exhibition and also experience some of Jorns painting techniqus like marbel painting. In the afternoon we learnt more about the Danish fauna at the AQUA freshwater centre. AQUA is both a aquarium as well as a park. The very enthusiastic guide showed and taught us more about birds, fish, reptiles, insects, mammals as well as invasive species. After a nice stroll through Silkeborg the students had some free time to explore on their own.
Entrepreneurial learning - it´s all about the process Back in school Birgitte introduced the task as well as the process. The task for the students was to come up with ideas for making museum Jorn more interesting for young people aged 13-18. The students could focus on inside, outside the museum, museum shop and restaurant. The had to come up with a general concept as well as describe a few things in detail using, sound, text, models ect. The process. The first thing the peer groups did was to brainstorm to try to come up with a concept. Then they tried to agree on a few ideas which they developed in detail. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm among the young people as well as their product. After 2,5 days of hard work it was time for the students to present their work for a representative from the museum. I was so proud when I heard and watched all the fantastic ideas the students had come up with. They had designed new rooms as well as new ways of looking at art, a playground inspired of Jorn´s ideas, cartoons as a way of learning more about Jorn as well as a lot of products fot both museum shop and restaurant as well as a new motto. ”Don´t yawn at Jorn”. The students had also many interesting ideas about how to use social media to reach out to young people and let the let their friends learn more about their experiences at the museum.
Looking at art, making art, learning more about animals and abow all, making new friends and learn new things together.

Teachers learning from each other Part of our project is about to let teachers learn from each other. As well as talking to fellow teachers and students and observant classes we had a hands-on experience in Kjellerup school Fablag, where the teachers tried to make a concept t-shirt with the concept of our project. It was a lot of fun to create together and in the same way see how the school worked with innovation. We also had the opportunity to go to city hall and learn about all the changes taking place in danish ”Folkeskole” as well as visit a vocational training center.
Coordinators meeting One important thing us teachers do during mobilities is to plan coming events and activities. These meetings are a lot of fun as all of us are well prepared and have a lot of ideas and a will to make the very best of this projects. Its a delight to work with such a devoted group of teachers. THANK YOU ERIK, BIRGITTE AND EVERYONE ELSE WHO MADE THIS MOBILITY VERY SPECIAL, ESPECIALLY STUDENTS AND HOST FAMILIES.
