The Danish group
Excited happy students were waiting at their teachers in Billund Airport quite early in the morning Saturday the 18th of April. Finally the day had come for the first mobility in the Xplicit-project. The first mobility was in Rauma in Finland. Via Copenhagen Airport the Danish group arrived to Helsinki Airport at noon. In the airport our friends from Sweden and England had already arrived and were waiting for us. Ahead of us was a 4 hours bus drive to Rauma. Already on the bus trip new relations were made and the Danes and the English were singing together. When we arrived

XPLICIT at the School in Rauma the students very quickly found each other and went together to their host families where the spent their first night. On the morning of the second day the students met in the old part of Rauma. Excited to meet their friends from back home, and excited to tell each other of the new impressions they had got. The teachers from Rauma had organized a city-orienteering in old town Rauma. An exciting event and a very beautiful impression of the old city with its wooden houses. Completely different to what we see in Denmark. The teachers had a guided tour around old town Rauma. Later in the afternoon everyone met at leisure and recreational center outside Rauma. It was time for a Finnish tradition: Sauna and a swim in the ocean. The weather was quite cold and the sea temperature was low. Anyway, most of the students and teachers went into the ocean. First you are heated up so you are really warm and then you cool off in the ocean. Actually scaring to think of but quite refreshing and nice. Third day finally in School. And the joint project of making a film was initiated. Students were divided into different groups. Some were producers, some were actors, some were technicians and so on so forth. Scripts had to be made and all the students were active and hard working. After school the students were in their host families, but many had arranged to meet and do different things together. Some tried Finnish baseball which is a sport we don't play in Denmark. On the night of the third evening there had been arranged a meeting for teachers and coordinators at the local University where they train young people to become teachers. A very interesting visit and a good opportunity to share views and tendencies in education among collegaues from different countries. For the teachers there was a gathering at the City Hall where we met teachers WHO had been working in previous Erasmus - projects. Always nice to meet and share views with fellow-teachers. Day 4 the film making continued. When there were periods with little to do the students and teachers were introduced to the old Finnish tradition of lace making. For some very exciting and for all very difficult. On the evening of day 5 the film had been produced and the Finnish hosts gave a farewell party. Lots of pizza for the guests and the presentation of the trailer of the film. It will be interesting to watch the complete movie once it has been finished. Students from the different schools expressed their gratitude to the Finnish hosts for the very fine programme they had made.

XPLICIT And it was a really good week for students and teachers. It was an exciting programme the hosts had made. A lot of new friendships were made, and for the adults it was very nice to meet again. On the bus trip the following day back to the airport in Helsinki it was very obvious that the children had made new friendships. In Denmark we look forward to have visitors in Denmark in the end of September.
