Football came to Sweden in 1800.One of the biggest competitions in football is the World Cup. World Cup is played every fourth year since 1930. How to play football and rules You always start a match to wish the opponents good luck. Then the match starts when some of the team do a kick off on the middle of the pitch. The time is ticking and a match with 11 players on the plan is 45 minutes x 2. When someone in the team scores a goal it will be a kick off for the other team. In football there are lot of rules, for example Offside. Offside is when the a player is behind the defenders without the ball. Another rule is when the ball goes out of the side of the pitch, it is called throw-in. If you do something wrong you can get red or yellow card from the referee. There are different groups in football for example how many players there are on the pitch. It depends on how old you are, the oldest players play 11 people on the pitch and the youngest are 3 on the pitch. Outfit When you play football you have a t-shirt with the name of the club and your number. You have also shorts, leg guards and socks. The most important thing is to wear football shoes. Physical Education Objectives The objectives in Physical Education (in Swedish schools) are orientation, gymnastics, ergonomics. In orientation you should be able to easily understand a map and find places on a map. You should also be able to know what the inch grip is and how the map work practically. The thumb grip is when you place your thumb on your last location on the map. This makes you find yourself much easier on the map. Practically you need to rotate the map as you go, think like you rotate and not the map, this makes you run in the right direction. In gymnastics you must know how to simply use the utensils in the hall. In ergonomics you should be able to know more about the human body and behaviour. In all of these sports its important to have a theory before doing it practically. This makes you know what you are doing, why you are doing it and how you do it Also every other grade (depends a little what school your at) you have dance when you learn to follow the beat. Its real fun because some of the dances are really fast and hard. How often We have in total two P.E lessons a week. But one time a semester we have P.E all day long those days are often orientation or gymnastics based. On these days we gather at the station at a certain time (time depends on class). Later when we arrive we lay our packs in a house. After that we need to run a certain number of courses and then we can take our time and relax or eat some of our food. When everyone is done we take the bus back to the station then we are free to go home. The Lessons The lessons often start of with our teacher taking up the rules and what we do. Then we match ourself in pairs (if it is a pair exercise) or else our teacher split us in teams. It is often two teams so he goes around and picks random people to be in either team 1 or team 2. What is the best about P.E You get lots of condition and you also train yourself in cooperation. And if you really work with your team you can develop a good team spirit. But its also fun in general because you can always expect something new from the teacher. Another fun thing you can expect are different games like “catch and they are always really fun to play.
