Welcome
" OUR VISION "
Welcome
Rosebud Country Club offers members and visitors access to 2 beautifully presented golf courses, with the traditional North course ranked at 84 in Australian Golf Digest's Top 100 Courses in Australia. Both courses offer a contrasting experience- the North framed by large pine trees, while the South boasts wide fairways and distinctive green complexes.
Members and visitors also have access to superb practice facilities with a 220 metre driving range, chipping green, putting green and practice bunker.
The Golf Shop has one of the widest ranges of golfing equipment and apparel on the Mornington Peninsula with our teaching professional on hand to provide individual or group lessons throughout the week.
Open 7 days, 'Bistro 62' looks over our practice green to the 1st hole. Offering breakfast and bistro dining for lunch and dinner, the inspiration for our Menu is on fresh seasonal produce.
The Clubhouse is also a stunning venue for a wedding reception, birthday or anniversary celebration or conference.
For those seeking a base to explore the Mornington Peninsula or to enjoy a golf break, look no further than the on site fourstar accommodation offered by Fairways Resort.
Come and discover what makes Rosebud Country Club special and so highly regarded. We look forward to giving you a warm welcome.
A Brief History
Our original members were the people behind the building of the golf course that is now known as Bay Views which was opened in 1956.The mixing of a private golf club with a public golf course did not work out, but undeterred by this slight setback, the private members then decided to build their own new course.
After extensive investigation the current site was selected. It had been a pine plantation that was damaged by fire and then cleared. The 184 acres that was to become the North Course were purchased in 1962. As there was little money available, many members donated time, materials and money to see their dream realised.
The first nine holes opened in February 1964, with the second nine holes following just over a year later.
A parcel of 93 acres of land was purchased in 1970 for the South Course. The construction of the course was completed within two years to provide 36 exceptional holes.
Further work and investment has created the wonderful golfing test that may be enjoyed today.
The off-course facilities are no less impressive, with the current main clubhouse having opened in 1998. This spacious and well-appointed building provides a haven for members and their guests with a luxurious setting for dining and functions of all kinds.
Since 1962 our members have worked hard to build our Club to the magnificent standard it is today. It is thanks to their efforts that we are able to enjoy the facilities, friendliness and culture that is Rosebud Country Club.
Our Courses
North
Any club is only as good as its golf course and Rosebud Country Club is extremely fortunate that it has two real gems that will delight everyone from the experienced golf professional to the casual player.
The North Course at Rosebud Country Club is fortunate to have the majority of its holes located on the most undulating land on the property, in particular on the back nine.
Measuring 6,204 meters from the back tees, the Par 71 North Course has benefitted in recent years from renowned course architects, OCM, whose Master Plan for all 36 holes is starting to take shape.
A unique and challenging experience for all levels of golfers, the pine lined fairways are always in immaculate condition year round, which is one of the many reasons the PGA of Australia and DP World Tour has made the North a feature course to host The Players Series and Stage One Q-School tournaments respectively.
The North has also made a triumphant return to the Top 100 Courses in Australia, recently ranking #69 in Golf Australia Magazine and #84 in Australian Golf Digest magazines bi-annual rankings.
The opening tee shot is always a daunting prospect at any course, but at Rosebud's North Course especially so, featuring bunkers left and right of an uphill fairway, coupled with OB right, steady nerves are required to get one's round underway.
Once golfers make the turn to the back nine, they are in for a treat, as the stretch of holes from 12-17 could be considered some of the best holes on the Mornington Peninsula, with the signature par 3 13th hole the standout.
" ~
Our Courses ~ South
The South Course measures 5953 metres off the men ' s blue tees, playing to a par of 72 for both men and women with a slope rating of 124.
Whilst not benefitting from the undulating land featured on the North, the South Course is always presented in prime condition, with many members keen to point out the tricky greens and solid par 3's.
The South may also be the harder of the two courses, with a challenging mix of short and long par 4 holes that will test all skill levels.
Recently the 1st* & 18th holes of the South have been used on the Composite North Course, which was played at the 2022 & 2023 TPS Victoria Tournament, a testament to the strength of the layout.
*Note played as a par 3
