A ROADMAP FOR DISCIPLESHIP AT ROSE CITY CHURCH •This is the beginning of discipleship at Rose City. Worship is a formative community practice which helps us to grow in love of God and in awareness of Worship & Holy God's mercies. We receive grace when we partake of Holy Communion. Through the sacrament God strengthens us and forms us as His people. Communion

•In hearing the Word preached and studying the Bible, we encounter God's story of redemption, which often runs against the other stories which influence and shape our lives. In prayer we encounter the Triune God and learn to follow God's promting to give more of ourselves, including our greatest joys and fears, Word & Prayer to God. •We gather in small bands to form closer relationships with God and one another. Each band focuses on integrating life in the world with the call to follow Jesus. Beyond that, each band has a different focus. Whether through Bands prayer, discussion or Bible study, the bands help us to comprehend how God is (Small Groups) moving in our lives, and how we can join into God's story in our own lives.

•For those seeking to grow in knowledge of God's story or wanting to gain insight into the Christian life from others with similar life experiences. We offer Classes & Other groups such as Sunday morning Bible Study and a Women's group. Groups

Spiritual Disciplines

Holistic Development

Mentorship

•Disciplines are not about making ourselves appear holy, but about humbly admitting our need to be more aware of God and present with God. Disciplines include various forms of prayer, contempative and meditative prayer, fasting, Lectio Divina and the Ignatian Examen. See our resources on spiritual disciplines for more detail on these practices.

•Discipleship is more than a list of "spiritual" exercises. Discipleship means growing toward loving God with all our heart, soul mind and strength. Discipleship therefore involves emotional growth and development of our skills, strengths and spiritual giftings. We offer several opportunities for this kind of growth, including an upcoming series on Christian counseling. •We strongly value partnerships at Rose City. Partners are people/groups who share our values and goals to expand God's kingdom, but are diverse from us in life perspectives, age, ethnicity, spiritual gifting, calling, resourcing, etc. Mentors are people in or outside the church with a balance of similar goals and diverse perspectives who are able to speak into our lives, coach us, hold us accountable and help us grow spiritually.
