A message from BJWSA:
Determine where you will relocate if you live within an evacuation zone. Know your evacuation route. Be sure trees and shrubs around your home are welltrimmed, and keep them maintained. Clean clogged rain gutters and downspouts. Secure any loose parts of your gutter system. Make a plan and/or checklist for securing your property including: o
covering windows
o
loose objects such as trash cans, potted plans, lawn furniture, etc
o
how and where to secure boats
Have an emergency supplies kit prepared with supplies for at least 72 hours (non-perishable food items, a manual can opener, medications, copies of important documents and phone numbers, etc) Plan arrangements for pets. Make sure vaccinations are current, many facilities will not accept pets with expired records.
