The Neighborhood
OnSaturday mornings you will find Poway residents descending upon Old Poway Park to enjoy the local farmers market with over 65 vendors offering fresh produce, flowers, music and freshly prepared food. Old Poway Park feels like you have stepped back into the Old West. There you can visit historic sites, ride a vintage train, enjoy a picnic, attend the yearly Sam Hinton Folk Festival or a myriad of other events.
Located in an inland valley east of I 15, Poway is a family oriented community with a small town living in the country feel. It’s within 30 minutes of downtown San Diego city limits and Del Mar beaches. Its residents bask in sapphire, cloudless skies most of the year.
Young families are attracted to Poway, with its award winning Poway Unified School District and close proximity to major freeways. Surrounding the city, gently sloping hills and steep mountains covered in native vegetation, provide a rural backdrop to this serene community. For the outdoor enthusiasts, the Poway Trails System has more than 78 miles of the finest paths in California. Hike on the trails at Lake Poway, Blue Sky Ecological Reserve, Iron Mountain, Goodan Ranch and Sycamore Canyon Preserve. Fishing can be found at Lake Poway or Lake Ramona. Summertime offers the opportunity to tap your feet to live music at free concerts or enjoy movies under the stars at Poway parks. Through out the year enjoy concerts, dance, and art exhibits at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.
Poway is the kind of town where people know and look out for their neighbors. It is the kind of town you would like to call home.
